lOS ANGELES OC)).– President Donald Trump ordered his acting Atty. Gen. Todd Blanche to reclassify marijuana for medical used from a Schedule I narcotic to a Schedule II drug, consistent with outher Class 3 drugs that don’t show addictive properties.  Marijuana now joins drus like Ketamine, anabolic steroids, testosterone and certain painkillers with codeine.  Marijuana has been part of Schedule I for 66 years, when it was wrongly classified with heroin and other more addictive painkillers and sedative hypnotic drugs.  Medical marijuana, AKA compassionate use, have been approved in 40 states.  Recreational marijuana laws are legal in 25 states, including the District of Columbia. Growing research shows that marijua is not a gateway drug that leads to abuse of more dangerous drugs.  Today’s objections to marijuana use usually stemps from antiquated thinking.

Recent longitudinal studies have shown that long-term marijuana use has a negative effect on the aging brain, apparently hurting short-term memory is some adults. But apart from some negative studies, there’s fare more touting the medical benefits of cannabis use in adults for pain relief and insomnia.  Whether marijuana has medicinal values, it’s a matter of trade-offs, much like alcohol where the vast majority of alcohol consumers tout its relaxing effect on the mind-and-body.  Generations of marijuana users and petty seller served long sentences for nearly 60 years. Reclassification of the drug helps stop a criminal justice system throwing the book on marijuana users and sellers.  Medical marijuana pharmacies obviate the necessity of buy marijuana illegally on the streets. How many U.S. citizens spent time in prison or jail from marijuana use or selling.

Trump has done more to reschedule marijuana than progressive like former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.  Somehow, they never really got around to ordering the AG to change the classification so marifuana-related busineses can get off the cash-and-carry standard and move to the U.S. banking system.  Why should marijuana-related business, now approved in a vast majority of states, be denied access to the banking system to run their businesses?  “The Federal Government’s long delay in recognizing the medical use of marijuana does not serve the Americans who report health benefits from the medical use of marijuana to east chronic pain and other various medically recognized ailments,” Trump said.  Trump wants his name of the rescheduling to prove that he’s more progressive in certain ways than fast-talking liberas who got nothing donw.

Majority of polls show citizens supporting the medical or recreational use of marijuana.  When it comes to the product sold in medical marijuana dispensaries, it’s the exact same as what’s sold in recreational pot stores.  Active ingredients in marijuana include the intoxicating chemical tetrahydrocanaabidnol [THC] and cannibino [CBD], both having unique properties for medicinal use. “Will you get this rescheduling done, please?” Trump said, frustrated with the bureaucratic slow pace of reclassifyng marijuana.  Trump wants his name on rescheduling marijuana to show up loud-talking liberals that got nothing done.  Trump has the right AG in Todd Blanche to finally make it happen.  “They are slow walking me me on rescheduling,” Trump said, wanting Blanche to take action now.  All the past excuses from conservative groups seem feeble now for not rescheduling marijuana.

Marijuana legalization, either for medical or recreational use, was opposed by the beverage industry.  Imagine that, for purely selfish reasons the beverage industry sought to monopolize intoxicating substances.  When it comes to alcohol, there’s far more impairment in in hand-eye coordination they would cannabis.  Whether that’s true or not, the public has a right to pick and chose what they put in their own bodies. No one is preaching the benefits of alcohol, only that it’s part of a long tradition in U.S. and European culture.  Marijjuna use has always been a fring activity because the government spend years demonizing the drug for a variety of reasons, including moral depravity.  Why should alcohol claim it’s part of long, rich history but marijuana use involves moral depravity?  Alcohol use certainly causes more problems in today’;s society by its sheer numbers?

Trump has made decisive decisions on a number of things once prompting U.S. presidents to sit on the fence.  Taking a stand against 47-years of radical mullah rule in Iran shows that the Trump wants to leave his mark on U.S. foreign policy and national security.  When it comes to rescheduling marijuana, it’s been long overdue, with too many citizens IN federal and state prisons.  “Rescheduling mean a $2 bnillion tax break for Big Weed.  It meaning more more of life problems and more crime . . . “said Smart Approaches to Marijuana, a conservative group opposed to rescieduly. Regardless of whether the public benefits from medical or recHatioanal cannabis use, users should be part of the criminal justice system, locking far too many people up for marijuana use.  Whether cannabis has real medicinal value or not, users should not be treated as criminals.
