LOS ANGELES.–President Donald Trump, 78, said no to an Oct. 23 invitation by Fox News, hosted by Brett Baier and Martha McCallum, to debate 59-year-old President Donald Trump for a second time. Trump said after concluding his Sept. 10 CBS News debate with 59-year-old President Kamala Harris he would not debate again because of mail-in voting, already started in may states. Trump said after the Sept. 10 debate that he had beaten Kamala, the exact opposite of the Harris campaign insisting she had beaten Trump decisively. Yet in less than an hour after the debate, her campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon asked Trump for a second debate, saying the American public deserved another debate before Election Day. O’Malley Dillon has pushed for another debate for the last month, all told by Trump it would not happen. Trump said he would not give Kamala a rematch.
Trump said that all prize fighters that lose matches ask for a rematch giving them hope that they an redeem themselves after a loss. But Kamala’s campaign team insisted the public wanted another debate pushing Trump as hard as possible to debate again. Trump wondered about the reasoning from the Kamala campaign, begging for another debate when they claim Kamala beat Trump decisively in the Sept. 10. If Kamala beat Trump decisively in the first debate why did her polls start sliding, with Trump picking up ground in the battleground states? Today’s Real Clear Politics averages show Trump continuing to lead in all battleground states except Wisconsin and Nevada, where the margines are under one percent. So, when Kamala’s campaign manager asks for another debate, it’s not because internal polls show Kamala picking up more ground.
When it comes to the Sept. 10 CBS News debate, moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis were so biased against Trump it looked like Trump was in a three-against-one debate. Muir fact-checked Trump but not Kamala through the debate, where Kamala was on the attack insulting Trump on everything but the kitchen sink. At one point, Kamala said Trump’s rally attendees were so bored they routinely walked out. Trump receives far larger crowds than Kamala with enthusiastic audiences, no matter how many rallies they attended. Trump has some folks that have traveled around the country attending Trump’s campaign rallies for years. But Kamala spent the entire debate repeating memorized Democrat attack ads accusing Trump of destroying American democracy, insisting that the Jan. 6 Capitol riots proved he tried to overthrow the U.S. government.
When it comes to foreign policy, Kamala called Trump a disgrace for trying to destroy NATO and back 71-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin in his fight against Ukraine. Kamala said she would always back a U.S. ally like Ukraine and NATO, over Trump’s inappropriate ties with Putin. Kamala continued the same fake Hillary Clinton talking points that led to former FBI Director James Comey to investigate Trump for years for his alleged ties to the Kremlin. Hillary’s facts were completely discredited and proven fabrications by her 2016 campaign opposition research AKA “The Steele Dossier,” a group of all discredited claims to help Hillary get elected in 2016. Former Special Counsel Robert Mueller took 22-months and spent $40 million to prove that Trump did not have any ties to Russia. Yet Kamala continues to repeat Hillary’s rubbish that lost her the 2016 presidential election.
CBS News was caught red handed redacting Kamala statements from the Sept. 10 debate and he interview on “60 Minutes” each explaining incoherent accounts of what she and 81-year-old President Joe Biden were trying to do in Gaza. CBC News tried to make Kamala look less incoherent on the Israeli policies but it was obvious they were covering for the Kamala campaign. So, when it comes to the Sept. 10 debate, it was more of the same where CBS News picked issues to discuss comfortable Kamala, like Roe v. Wade or climate change. So, when Kamala asks for another debate, it’s because her campaign is running scared that Trump will out point her in the battleground states. Most the battleground states like Trump’s message about saving the U.S. auto industry from Biden-Harris Electric Vehicle mandates, that leaves the industry reeling rom bloated inventories and sluggish sales.
Kamala positions have changed so dramatically on every issue except women’s reproductive health, where she’d like to run her entire campaign on one issue. But the campaign figures to turn on multiple issues, including the porous U.S. border, economy and foreign policy where most voters trust Trump to do a better job. Kamala gets high praise on civil, gender and women’s right but not on issues that matter to most independent voters. Questions now about the federal emergency management response to hurricanes Helene and Milton have raised more doubts about Kamala’s readiness for the White House. Reports of Biden interfering in Kamala’s campaign by hosting competing events also add to Kamala’s campaign woes. As the election get closer, voters are getting more serious about the future, realizing they don’t want more of the same for the next four years.
