Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, 60, has become the latest media stooge, falling into the left’s strategy of branding Republicans racists before the 2024 presidential election. Christie joins the ranks of other publicity-starved politicians or exhibitionists like Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Ut.) or former attorney now convicted felon Michael Avenatti. Avenattti was once CNN’s favorite fake pundit to attack former President Donald Trump before his fraud and legal problems bulldozed his career. Then came Trump’s former attorney Michael Cohen, another doozey whose claim-to-fame on liberal media was that he attacked Trump. So, Christie becomes the latest GOP fool to get sucked into the trap in liberal media, watching Christie attack fellow Republicans. Christie violates President Ronald Reagan’s rule not to attack fellow Republicans. Democrat TV hosts relish the chance to turn Republicans against each other.

Appearing on CBS “Face The Nation” today, Christie blasted fellow 55-year-old GOP candidate Ron DeSantis for influencing Florida’s new school curriculum on African American history. Vice President Kamala Harris, who’s half Black and half Indian, ripped DeSantis for a provision in Florida State curriculum saying the Black slaves learned valuable skills while in capitivity. Speaking in Indianapolis at Dellt Sigma Theta Black sorority event July 22, Harris railed against the Florida Department of Education for daring to say in Black history curriculum that slaves learned valuable skills. Christie apparently agreed with Harris, taking a shot at DeSantis. “DeSantis started this first with the bill that he signed, and now he doesn’t to take responsibility for whatever is done in the aftermath of it. And from listen and watching his comments, he’s obviously uncomfortable,” Christie said.

Christie is right that that DeSantis turned a racially sensitive issue related to slavery into a rallying cry for Harris, the media and other GOP-hating Democrats. DeSantis said he had nothing to do with Florida’s Department of Education in writing the state’s curriculum. At this point, there’s little the African American community approves of White society other than paying trillions in slavery reparations. GOP politicians must get a lot smarter about what happened to Trump in 2020 in the wake of the May 25, 2020 police George Floyd killing, making race a major part of the campaign to get rid of Trump. Democrat strategists galvanized the media to paint Trump and all Republicans as White supremacists or at least White nationalists. Whether the GOP likes it or not, unfounded racial attacks work in the media, ready to attack Republicans for attacking civil rights legislation.

Christie’s strategy of getting on liberal TV talk shows to attack Trump and other fellow Republicans is bound to backfire in the GOP primaries. Christie has become a male version of 56-year-old former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.) who destroyed her political career to join Democrats on the Jan. 6 House Select Committee to go after Trump. Cheney became a co-chair of the House Select Committee, showing more venom attacking Trump than her Democrat colleagues. Cheney was rewarded for her betrayal by getting blown out Aug. 16, 2022 by Harriet Hageman losing by 37%, the largest margin loss in 60 years. Christie would find himself in the same boat should he run for any elected office as a Republican. When the GOP primaries start in Iowa in January, Christie won’t get too many votes. Christie, like Cheney, showed profound selfishness and party disloyalty.

DeSantis needs to be muzzled by the GOP for his “war on wokeness,” something that come to mean Blacks and Gays. Christie correctly recognizes it’s a losing issue for the GOP, giving opportunists like Harris more ammunition to attack Republicans. Whatever the Florida Department of Education wrote, it’s a losing proposition for the GOP. “These were scholars who put that together. It was not anything that was done politically,” DeSantis said, denying that he influenced the Department of Education. DeSantis has already made himself unelectable for 2024, probably any other higher office. Once a candidate is branded as anti-Black or anti-Gay, it’s a death sentence in today’s political atmosphere. “And so, I think people see this a politically manipulative,” Christie said. GOP politicians who seek national office must show more sensitivity to racial and gender issues.

Speaking at a town hall in South Carolian July 22, Christe told an audience that the war in Ukraine was a U.S. proxy war against China. Everyone knows that the war is against the Kremlin, not Beijing. Yet no one challenged the outrageous gaffe that demonstrated Christie’s ignorance of foreign policy, but, more importantly, his lack of readiness to be president. Christie endorsed the Biden policy in Ukraine, giving Ukraine a blank check to fight the Russian Federation. Where Christie thinks China comes in is anyone’s guess. Christie will find out in January how many Republicans buy his campaign against Trump and other GOP candidates. Republicans see Christie pandering to Democrat TV talks shows, all to get free publicity for his flagging campaign. No one takes Christie seriously other than Christie. He’s about to get the Liz Cheney treatment once the voting starts..
