New poll by ABC/Washington Post, usually favorable to Democrats, recorded the worst approval ratings of 80-year-old President Joe Biden coming in at 36%, after Biden declared April 25 that he’s runing for reelection. ABC’s poll showed that 63% of respondents said Biden does not have the “mental sharpness” to run for president or serve another four year term. ABC’s poll rose 9% from last years when 54% of respondents said Biden was not mentally equipped to do his job. Another 62% of ABC’s respondents said Biden is not physically capable to performing his job. When it came to questions about 76-year-old former President Donald Trump, 54% said that former president was mentally fit with another 64% saying he was physically fit. ABC’s polls show that Democrats, Republicans and independents have real reservations about Biden running for anther term.

Biden’s poor approval ratings stem from his many gaffes and physical accidents over the last two-and-a-half years in office. Whether admitter to or not by the White House, Biden unilaterally got the U.S. embroiled in a costly-and-dangerous proxy war using Ukrainian troops against the Russian Federation. Over $100 billion has been spent on Ukraine, funding the bankrupt government and paying for the war, while Biden has trouble getting a GOP Congress to agree on a continuing budget resolution to raise the national debt limit $1.5 trillion. Voters see Biden making many mistakes on domestic and foreign policy, leaving his backers questioning whether he can even beat a good generic GOP candidate. Voters clearly want an alternative to Biden, even if they despise former President Donald Trump. Whatever the media can do to prop up Biden, they would do it, but obviously can’t.

Biden’s handlers must take a serious look at the new ABC/WP poll because it says that he probably would lose to any generic GOP candidate, not necessarily Trump with all his baggage, especially his legal woes. Should a Manhattan civil jury convict Trump of alleged rape and defamation, the negative PR would be hard to overcome. When Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg charged Trump April 4 with 34 felonies related for the hush money payout to Stormy Daniels, it raised questions about Trump’s viability as a presidential candidate. One more indictment, by Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland, surely Trump would be forced to end his 2024 bid. That would open the door to 44-year-old Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and other GOP candidates. ABC/WP poll, showed, if nothing else, that all voters have reservations about Biden for good reasons, he’s simply not fit for office or to serve four more years.

Wrangling a continuing budget resolution raises doubts about Biden’s judgment, saying he wouldn’t compromise on questionable Democrat priorities. When it comes to compromise, it’s more difficult for someone with cognitive impairments, unable negotiate in good faith. When it comes to Biden’s management of the economy, things have gone down hill quickly. Trump warned that if Biden got into office, the nation would go into a downturn, possibly recession. When Biden decided to fund a proxy war against the Kremlin with his Russian oil embargo, oil prices shot up around the globe, fueling the worst inflation in 40 years. Now U.S. banks are starting to fail, putting more anxiety into voters, questioning whether Biden’s the right one for the job. Judging by the ABC/WP poll, voters have more questions about Biden’s fiscal management, leaving voters more skeptical than ever.

Biden’s video announcement about his 2024 bid, says nothing about the Ukraine War or current economic problems facing the country. Biden keeps going back to “restoring the soul of our nation,” something that worked in 2020 when Democrats made Trump out to be a racist and White supremacist, blaming Trump for mismanaging the Covid-19 global pandemic. By the time the Nov. 8, 2020 election rolled around, voters blamed Trump for almost everything, especially the Covid-19 crisis. Now Biden faces backlash for his economic mismanagement all related to his Ukraine War that sparked global inflation. Biden’s belligerent rhetoric toward the Kremlin and now China, leaves voters fearing WW III, possibly nuclear war. If Biden’s rhetoric means anything, he’s pushing the nation into a dangerous two-front war, one with Russia the other with China, that would change life as we know it.

ABC/WP’s recent poll gives the true picture of what 2024 voters really think about Biden’s 2024 presidential bid. Voters don’t see the 80-year-old as mentally and physically fit to serve another four years. Voters want Biden to end his 2024 bid, giving a younger generation of leader a chance to step in. Biden told MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle that he was the most qualified person to every run for president. Ruhle was dumbfounded hearing Biden say he had the wisdom and experience for another four years. Ruhle didn’t question the functioning of the U.S. economy or Biden’s deadly proxy war against the Russian Federation. ABC/WP’s poll shows that voters question Biden’s competency for another four years in office. Republicans that pick someone reasonable, without too much baggage, can easily turn independent voters back to the Republican Party in 2024.
