Begging to hear from 71-year-old former National Security Adviser John Bolton, Sen. Chuck Shumer (D-N.Y.) embraced the “devil” witnesses against Trump, just like he did when he was infatuated with now disgraced 48-year-old criminal defense attorney Michael Avenatti. Avenatti appeared on CNN as one of their favorite anti-Trump pundits for two years until he was indicted by the Feds for trying to extort Nike Inc. Until that happened, Democrats used Avenatti because he represented porn star Stormy Daniels, claiming she had an affair with Trump in 2012 and was paid off by Trump’s now incarcerated 53-year-old personal attorney Michael Cohen. Michael Cohen now serves out a three year sentence in Federal Correctional Institution in Otisville, N.Y., sentenced Dec. 18, 2018 for income tax evasion among other felonies. Democrats loved Cohen when he squealed on Trump.
Democrats were in love with Avenatti and Cohen because they turned on Trump, until their arrests, convictions and sentencing for multiple felonies. No Democrats embraced John Bolton until he turned against Trump, whose tell-all book, “The Room Where it Happened,” is slated for publication in March. Bolton, who’s been accused in the past of sexual harassment by foreign aid contractor Melody Townsel while working in Kyrgyzstan, is now Democrats new star witness. Schumer and House Intelligence Committee Chairman and lead impeachment manager Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) have pleaded with Bolton to testify against Trump. While Schumer and Schiff know the Senate will eventually acquit Trump of two articles of impeachment, both think Bolton’s testimony will further damage Trump’s chances of reelection. To Democrats, the impeachment is all about the 2020 election.
Democrats accuse 73-year-old President Donald Trump of interfering in the 2020 election when he asked 40-year-old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky July 25, 2019 to investigate 77-year-old former Vice President Joe Biden and his 50-year-old son, Hunter. Democrats want Bolton to confirm that Trump engaged in a quid pro quo with Zelensky, even though it’s not an impeachable offense. To Schumer and Schiff, it’s no longer about tossing Trump from office, its only about damaging him politically before the 2020 election. Yet like with Avenatti and Cohen, Democrats have another disgruntled stool pigeon ready to rat out the president. Schiff found a so-called “whistleblower” Sept. 25, 2019 to file a complaint against Trump for asking Zelensky to dig up dirt on the Bidens. Trump believes Joe and Hunter Biden were knee-deep in Ukraine’s corruption.
Bolton was hated by Democrats until only recently when he turned on his former boss. Trump fired Bolton from his NSA job Sept. 10, 2019, over two months after Trump’s infamous phone call with Zelensky. If Bolton felt so strongly about the call, why did he wait until after Trump fired him to write his tell-all book, setting the record straight about Trump’s call with Zelensky. But if Trump really did something so egregious, wouldn’t you think he would have been the first protest? Yet Bolton waited until Trump fired him to get into the mudslinging business with his new book. If he ever takes the witness stand against Trump, whether in open or closed court, Democrats expect Bolton to corroborate other witnesses saying Trump held back Ukrainian military aid in exchange for info on the Bidens. Republicans don’t think Trump’s call was an impeachable offense.
Democrats want to call Bolton and other witnesses not because they have a shot of getting rid of Trump but because they want to drag the impeachment process into the 2020 presidential primaries. Not only is Bolton impeachable as a witness, he’s got nothing to add what’s already known about Trump’s July 25, 2019 call with Zelensky. Bolton can say Trump delayed Ukraine’s funding pending information on the Bidens but he can’t say why. Trump has said all along that he wanted to know about the Bidens’ corruption in Ukraine. Former Florida Atty. Gen Pam Bondi presented a powerful case against the Bidens Jan. 27, playing a videotape of Joe speaking to the Council of Foreign Relations Sept. 27, 2019. Biden told the gathering that as VP he threatened to withheld $1 billion in loan guarantees to Ukraine unless they fired Ukrainian Prosecutor Viktor Shokin, looking into Burisma Holdings.
Democrats want to embrace Bolton as their new hero, just like they did Avenatti and Cohen to rat out Trump. In going after Trump, Democrats have opened up Joe’s past work for former President Barack Obama where he landed his son, Hunter, $100,000 a month job on Burisma’s board. Joe was supposed to root out Ukrainian corruption but instead capitalized on big gains for his family. Democrats and their friends in the press think Trump was going after Biden to damage him before the 2020 election but what’s the public supposed to do? Ignore blatant corruption because Biden’s their best shot of beating Trump in November? If Bolton testifies or not, he can’t say that Trump was not interested in the Biden’s role in Ukraine’s corruption. All he can say is whatever everyone already knows. Like Avenatti and Cohen, Democrats want Bolton’s testimony because it hurts Trump’s reelection bid.
