CNN’s White House nemesis Jim Acosta continues to make headlines confronting White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders-Huckabee. Raised at yesterdays’ daily press briefing that President Donald Trump’s daughter did not consider the press “the enemy of the people,” Acosta demanded that Sanders say the same thing. When Sanders balked, Acosta became more aggressive, insisting she denounce the idea that the media was the White House’s enemy. When Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, Shoresntein Center published its findings on media bias May 17, 2017 saying that the media was 93% negative against Trump, it opened the public’s eyes to what’s really going on with the press. With the nation roughly divided 50/50 Democrats to Republicans, the Harvard study exposed extreme media prejudice against the Trump presidency.

CNN and CNBC and most the major news networks have been anti-Trump, covering only stories that attack the president and his Cabinet. “The president is rightfully frustrated,” Sanders said. “Ninety percent of the coverage on him is negative despite the fact that the economy is booming, ISIS in on the run and American leadership is being reasserted around the world,” telling Acosta and others that their reporting has been unfairly biased against Trump. “You did not say in the course of those remarks that you just made that the press is not the ‘enemy of the people.’ Are we to take it that what you just said, we all get put through the ringer, we all get put in the meat grinder in this town, and you’re no exception, and I am no sorry that happened to you,” Acosta blasted Sanders for complaining about her own bad treatment in the mainstream press, largely CNN and MSNBC.

When Trump calls the media the “enemy of the people,” he’s referring to the mainstream press only reporting negative news about the White House. Acosta is deliberately provocative with Sanders, doing his utmost to make headlines for CNN. CNN’s audience thrives on run-ins with the White House, doing everything possible to highlight Trump’s failures ahead of the November Midterm elections. Instead of acting as a neutral news organization, CNN and MSNBC serve as an extension of the Democratic National Committee, whose agenda is to make Trump look as bad as possible before the Midterm elections. Sanders wouldn’t acknowledge Acosta’s request to denounce Trump’s “enemy of the people” remarks. Sanders admitted she’s the first press secretary to seek Secret Service protection because of death and other threats against her and her family.

Acosta wants preferential treatment with the White House, when CNN does everything possible to discredit Trump. “All the people around the world are watching what you’re saying, Sarah, and the White House for the United States of America, the president of the United States should not refer to us as the “enemy of the people,” said Acosta. Pressing Huckabee-Sanders to denounce the term “enemy of the people,” Acosta made the headlines when he was asked to leave the press conference. “We’re not the enemy of the people,” said Acosta. Because I’m tired of this. It is not right. It is not fair. It is not just. It is un-American,” Costa told Sanders. Yet Acosta acknowledges nothing about CNN’s extreme prejudice against Trump, looking for anything to attack the president’s approval ratings to help Democrats take back Congress in the fall. Acosta thinks nothing of pushing the Democrat agenda.

CNN President Jeff Zucker wants keep the ratings up attacking the Trump White House. Whether or not that strategy works to help Democrats in the Midterm elections is anyone’s guess. Trump backers have little regard for the mainstream media, believing they’re pushing a Democrat agenda. When Trump met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un June 12 in Singpore, Malaysia, CNN, CNBC, ABC, NBC and CBS found nothing positive to report. Meeting with Kim defused possible war on the Korean Peninsula yet the mainstream press only complained about a lack of results. When Trump announced that North Korea was no longer a nuclear threat to the United State, Trump’s statement was met with skepticism and contempt. Anytime there’s positive economic news, the mainstream media either ignores it, or finds some twisted way to discredit the good news.

Reporters like Acosta deliberately antagonize Sanders because it brings CNN’s anti-Trump crowd bigger ratings. Jim wants Trump or Sanders to acknowledge that the media is not “the enemy of the people,” without admitting that CNN and other liberal news outlets have done everything humanly possible to advance a Demcorat agenda before the Midterm elections. CNN and Acosta won’t report on anything positive about Trump because their goal is to take over Congress in the Midterm elections. Telling the public that Trump’s making progress on the border or getting results in North Korea and Russia only weakens Democrat arguments heading into November’s Midterm elections. When Trump calls CNN “fake news,” he’s not talking about outright concocted new stories. He’s talking about the media reporting only negative news, even when there’s positive things to report.
