Exposing its propensity toward fake news, the New York Times published a front page story that Vice President Mike Pence has started a political action committee to usurp President Donald Trump because of his ongoing problems with an investigation headed by former FBI Director Robert Mueller into alleged collusion with the Kremlin in the 2016 election. Publishing the story proves beyond any doubt that the New York Times editorial board is controlled by the Democratic Party. Democratic Party infiltration into the news rooms of the nation’s most prestigious broadcast and print outlets has hit the First Amendment with a wrecking ball. Today’s credentialed news organization are no longer indistinguishable from political parties, something so unthinkable, so intolerable, so disgraceful, it leaves American news consumers turned off to politics.
News consumers for generations expect media organizations to maintain objectivity in presenting the news, regardless of journalists’ political affiliations or preferences. When CBS managing director and Nightly News anchor Dan Rather published forged documents about former President George W. Bush’s service the Texas Air National Guard, he was eventually fired. CBS President Leslie Monves investigated, concluding that Rather’s newsroom had close ties to the 2004 campaign of former Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.). No corporate news leadership today demands that broadcast and print news rooms end their affiliations with political parties. Today’s media spends the lion’s share of reporting advancing political agendas of political organizations. Yesterday’s New York Times front-page story about Pence undermining Trump’s expected 2010 bid proves political infiltration.
Instead of admitting the serious breach in America’s newsrooms, the media doubles-down on fake stories citing anonymous sources. “We are confident in the accuracy of our reporting and will let the story speak for itself,” said Times spokeswoman Daniella Rhodes. Responding to New York Times, Vice President Mike Pence denounced the story as typical New York Times fake news. Despite dismissing the story, the New York Times insists its anonymous sources know more than the vice president. “The American people know that I could not be more honored working side by side with a president who is making America great again,” said Pence categorically repudiating the Times’ story. But with so many similar anti-Trump stories happening daily with the Times and other print and broadcast outlets, the public no longer knows what to believe watching the news.
Trump Administration officials need to file suit in federal court against the Federal Communication Commission who has done nothing to enforce the First Amendment against credentialed news organizations infiltrated by political groups. When a May 18 Harvard Study came out confirming that CNN reports 93% of negative news about Trump, the FCC should have opened an investigation. No credentialed broadcast or print outlet can be allowed to do the bidding of political groups, proving highly biased news to advance political agendas. No Democrat-backed news outlet can be permitted to disseminate news purely for the sake of advancing the Democrat agenda. Promoting the Trump Russian connection by broadcast and print outlets, like CNN and the New York Times, violates the FCC mandate that news organizations must be free off political influence.
News organizations infiltrated by political organizations have a duty to purge the newsrooms of political operatives. Allowing corruption of the mainstream media threatens American democracy by preventing news rooms for fulfilling the obligation of newsrooms to inform the public. Letting propaganda replace news harms American Democracy, leaving the public in the dark about what’s really going on. First Amendment protections for journalists are there to prevent the government from delivering pernicious propaganda to the public. When news organizations breach their duty to the First Amendment by advancing the agenda of political groups, then the U.S. no longer has an independent press. New York Times’ story about Pence seeking to upend Trump’s reelection bid reveals the extent of political interference in the news room.
New York Times’ Pence story is one more fake news story continuing the media barrage to discredit the Trump presidency. Recent stories about Trump considering firing Special Counsel Robert Mueller or Deputy Asst. Atty. Gen Rod Rosenstein are more fake news designed to paint Trump as an authoritarian dictator. Whatever the anti-Trump media prints or says, the public gets constant exposure to fake news, driving Trump’s approval ratings into the tank. With Trump’s Nov. 8, 2016 victory humiliating the media, it’s doubtful things will change anytime soon. “Today’s article in the New York Times is disgraceful, and offensive to me, my family and our entire team,” said Pence, rejecting completely the anonymous-source story saying Pence was looking to dump Trump in 2020. Leading the anti-Trump fake news, the New York Times has hit a new low in partisan journalism.
