Detonating a pressure cooker bomb Saturday night 8:30 pm in Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood on 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues, injuring 29, one critically, New York Major Rick De Blasio refused to confirm Mideast terrorism. When the explosive device was found, it looked strikingly similar to the two pressure cooker bombs used by the Tamerlin and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev April 15, 2013 near the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Pressure cooker bombs aren’t typical explosive devices of gangs or rebellious youth, pointing toward Mideast terrorism, whether a lone wolf attack or directed by a foreign terrorist group. When a pipe bomb went off at 9:30 am Sept. 16 in Sea Side Park, New Jersey during a Marine-sponsored 5K race, it didn’t look like terrorist attack. Only hours later in St. Cloud, Minnesota, a knife-wielding attacker screamed Allahu Akbar.
Not long after the St. Cloud attacker injured nine before killed by an off-duty security guard, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria [ISIS] claimed responsibility. New York’s attack, whether admitted to by authorities or not, had all the trappings of a Mideast-type terrorist attack. Democratic nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton condemned the attacks. “This should steel our resolve to protect our country and defeat ISIS and other terrorist groups,” said Hillary. Hillary’s been part of the Obama administration that ended the Iraq War Dec. 15, 2011, leaving the beleaguered Iraqi military to fend for itself before ISIS seized 30% of Iraq and Syria in 2014. Backing the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, President Barack Obama and Hillary arm various terror group for regime change in Damascus, pitting the U.S. against Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Hillary’s foreign policy did everything possible to back the Saudi-funded proxy war to topple al-Assad, causing over 300,000 deaths, 12 million displaced to neighboring countries and Europe, driving the U.K. out of the European Union June 23. Hillary’s “steel and resolve” watched ISIS spin out-of-control, with ISIS terror attacks spreading to Europe and the United States. Resolving to deal with potential terror threats to the U.S. homeland, Hillary has an open-door Syrian refugee policy. Hillary plans to increase five-fold Obama’s 10,000-Syrian refugee policy. Hillary plans to “defeat” ISIS by increasing intelligence, combating propaganda and recruitment, something already done by Obama. Increasing Syrian refugees into the U.S., Hillary’s plans guarantees more terrorist attacks on U.S. soil, much like the attacks in Orlando, Florida, June 12 and San Bernardino, Calif., Dec. 2, 2015.
Hillary’s plan to combat terrorism differs sharply from GOP nominee real estate tycoon Donald Trump who plans to mobilize the U.S. military to defeat ISIS. Unlike Hillary that wants to continue Obama’s counter-terrorism policy, Trump plans to restrict Syrian and other Mideast and North African refugees from immigrating or seeking asylum in the U.S. Hillary routinely rips Trump for his tough stand on keeping Syrian refugees from entering the U.S. Trump initially called after San Bernardino and Orland to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the U.S. He’s since modified his position to prevent Syrian and other Mideast refugees from entering the U.S. “I must tell you that just before I got off the place a bomb went off in New York and nobody knows what’s going on,” said Trump. Trump’s called for the U.S. to get much “tougher” and “vigilant” in dealing with terrorism.
Heading for the Sept. 26 NBC News presidential debate hosted by Nightly News anchor Lester Holt at Hofstra University, terrorism will no doubt be a hot topic between Trump and Hillary. Yesterday’s explosions and knife attack raise the stakes for both candidates. Hillary will be forced to justify her decisions while Secretary of State to back coups in Egypt, Libya and now Syria. Trump reminds voters that Hillary backed the March 20, 2003 Iraq War, opening the floodgates of terrorism and anarchy in the Middle East. Hillary’s recent support to topple former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak Feb. 11, 2011 and Libyan strongman Col. Muammar Gaddafi Aug. 24, 2011 shows how little she learned from Iraq. Backing the nearly six-year-old Saudi proxy war to topple Syrian President Bashar al-Assad proves that Hillary’s ready to repeat the same mistakes in Iraq now in Syria.
Calling the blasts and knife attacks in New York, New Jersey and Minnesota “apparent terrorist attacks,” Hillary showed the difficulty of opposing terror attacks while backing open-door Mideast refugee policies. “I strongly condemn the apparent terrorist attacks in Minnesota, New Jersey and New York. I pray for all of those who were wounded, and for their families,” Hillary wrote on her Website. “ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack in Minnesota and this should steel our resolve to protect ISIS and other terrorist group. I am confident we will once gain chose to resolve our fear,” saying nothing about how her policy would differ from Obama. Hillary’s plan to increase intel and fight propaganda has got Obama nowhere. Letting surrogates, like the Kurds, fight U.S. battles hasn’t improved U.S. national security. Trump’s plan to take the battle to the enemy is the only way to defeat ISIS.
