LOS ANGELES (aOC).–Reports from the White House and wire services report with bated breath a peace deal with Iran designed to end the 12-week old Iran War, but, more importantly, reopens the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping and requires Iran to negotiate on its nuke program. President Donald Trump engaged in a masterful military operation in Iran, working with Israel to complete what was unfinished from the 2025 12-day war nearly one year ago. Israel and the U.S. did much damage last year to Iran’s underground nuclear enrichment program with Trump sending in B-2 Stealth Bombers to strike facilities with bunker buster bombs. Israeli Prrme minister Benjamin Netanyahu engaged Iran again, with Trump joining in Feb. 28, degrading what’s left of Iran’s rocket launchers and ballistic missile capability. No ready for peace, Iran learned about Trump unskeable resolve.
No matter what Trump accomplished, Democrats and the fake news want no part of any military success for Trump, having neutralized Iran’s state terrorist actions. Iran had menaced Israel and other U.S. allies for years, sponsoring a group of terrorist groups to spreach mayhem in the Middle East. Democrats and fake news insist Trump had no plan in Iran or anyway to end the conflict, trying to stop him invoking the 1973 War Powers Act. Trump always said that the military action would be brief in Iran, countered by Democrats and fake news insisting Trump violated his campaign promise to end foreign wars. Democrats and fake news hope for Trump’s failure all because of politics, more specifically, because if the Iran peace deal goes through, fossil fuel prices will come down, leaving voter more inclined to voter Republican, the last think Democrats want.
Trump held off with military force signing any deal that didn’t accomplish his goals to neutralizing Iran’s nuclear threat and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Only recently Iran claimed sovereignty over the Hormus Strait, trying to turn it into a turnpike where it would collect arbitrary fees from global shipping companies. Trump put his foot down that he would continue the war until Iran agreed to basic provisions for a long-term peace. Opening up the Strait and negotiating the removal of Iran’s 1,000 pounds of 60% fissile material. Iran had little choice but to play ball with Trump, knowing the blockade on Iranian ports has cost Iran billions in revenue, further damaging the economy and currency. Trump showed considerable patience letting Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif work with Iran and other groups to hammer out a workable peace plan.
Trump agreed in the so-called memorandum of understanding [MOU] to have complete the new 60-day extension to the original ceasefire allowing both sides to work out an acceptable deal to remove Iran’s near weapons grade enriched uranium. Part of the agreement requires Israel to stop bombing Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, something opposed by Netanyahu but accepted a a fact of life to end the Iran War. Despite all the diplomatic activity, Iran fired drones on Kuwait International Airport, a clear violation of ceasefire but in response to Trump striking missile bases and mine-laying ships in southern Iran. Both Iran and the U.S. see the benefit to a long-term ceasefire, knowing that Iran can start selling oil in world market with sanctions being removed. Kuwait is one of the U.S. most reliable allies in the Mideast, making it a target for Iranian drone and missile attacks.
Iran had come to the end of its rope when continuing the conflict much longer. With its economy and currency in shambles, it had no choice but to end the standoff, knowing that it faced more crippling military attacks if they resisted Pakistani efforts to bring about a settlement. No countries in the Mideast and elsewhere thinks Iran has any legal right to sovereignty in the Strait of Hormus. The shut down the Strait with the Iranian Republican Guard Corps fleet of armed swift boas, capable to wreaking heavy damage on shipping trying to transit the Hormuz Strait. With 20% of the world’s energy transiting the Strait, Iran managed to gum up the historic delivery system of getting petroleum, natural gas and helium to world markets. Gas and jet fuel prices skyrocket to the point that logistic companies were forced to raised prices sparking inflation.
Acting on pure politics, Democrats and fake news doubted the latest development that have Trump and Iran’s Surpeme Leader Ayatollah Mojtab Khamenei signing a 60-day extension to the ceasefire. Iran need the peace deal more than the U.S. with its economy in ruins have the U.S. blockade on on Iranian ports. While Trump has not yet signed, he’s ready to move on from Iran, already setting his sights on Cuba where there’s movement at foot to liberate the island from its over 60 year communist stranglehold. Gone are the days when Russia would intervene for Cuba, having it own problems with the unending Ukraine War. Russian President Vladimir Putin didn’t re alize the cost of war in Ukraine ot the Russian economy. Trump has tried to get both sides to call it a day, knowing the extreme loss of human life on both sides. Trump now works to end the Iran war.
