LOS ANGELES.–Political phenom and newcomer 34-year-old Zohran Mamdani marches inexorably to Mayor of New York City,  winning the endorsement of ever-popular Democrat socialists Rep. Alexandria Ocassio-Cortez and former Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).  Mamdani has what former Gov. Andrew Cuomo and GOP Candidate Curtis Sliwa don’t have, youth and charisma.  Mamdani has beaten all the establishment odds, recognizing that he shows empathy for Muslims and Palestinians, including Hamas.  Mamdani carries the youth vote in New York City, where burrows Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx are about to give him a resounding victory when New Yorkers go to the polls Nov. 4.  Mandami might also win the otherwise conservative Staten Island where the old school Italian community still has clout.  But even Staten Island might also go for Mamdani.

Unlike Cuomo and Sliwa, Mamdani offers a breath of fresh air, new ideas at time of nationwide unrest where Democrat have banded together to protest Trump White policies, something not seen in New York City’s demographics. In all four burrows, a young generation of immigrants and mixed race youth look to make a statement on Election Day.   Mamdani promises more low-income housing and new opportunities for a new generation of mixed race Americans.  Voters simply don’t care about Mamdani’s Democrat socialist leanings because they know AOC fights for little guy, the down trodden, trying to create opportunities where she can.  Mamdani exudes the same infectious optimism about the future for young people locked out the American dream.  Old school politicians, like Cuomo, can hit Mamdani hard but New York voters look for a change.

Monday’s betting markets gave the election away showing Mamdani with a 20%-25% lead on the nearest candidate, most likely Andrew Cuomo only gets 8% of the vote in recent polls.  Betting markets have Mamdani’s chances of winning at 90%, no surprise at all when you consider the baggage that his nearest rival, Andrew Cuomo, carries in to Election Day.  Polymarket gave Mamdani a 92% chance of winning the election.  Predictit shows Mamdani with a whopping victory tomorrow, no surprise for anyone following the race. New York’s mayor’s race mirrors the national scene where large swaths of the electorate no longer back Trump’s White Nationalist policies.  Mamdani gives all minorities, especially Latinos, hope they can beat back Trump’s Make American Great Again platform by picking on the nation’s Latino community.

Whether Republicans admit it or not, Mamdani’s election represents the state of things to come at next year’s Midterm election.  Democrats and the fake news have done a masterful job at discrediting the Trump administration, showing it’s insensitivity to minorities struggling to survive in an economy that looks to favor the rich, not groups coming up the ranks.  Today’s younger generation, between 18-35, find themselves struggling to make end meets, watching Democrats and Republican squabble over the government’s nutritional program known as SNAP.  Democrats have made a strong case for health care, especially restoring Medicaid funding cut by the White House by $1.5 trillion over 10 years.  But it’s immediate impact are skyrocketing Obamacare policies where the government subsidizes health insurance for some 25 million Americans.

When you add it all up the damage to GOP credibility has been substantial.  Cutting Medicaid was a colossal mistake for Trump’s July 4 Big Beautiful Bill, where White House zealots like Russell Vought got carried away slashing Medicaid and Obmacare benefits.  Democrats exercised their minority power by shutting down the government, refusing to accept a continuing budget resolution to kick the health care debate down the road. Republicans keep telling Democrats to sign the continuing budget resolution to keep the government running.  Republicans haven’t give the reassurance necessary to get Democrats to sign on to a new continuing budget resolution to open the government.   Republicans seems to be losing the argument about slashing essential government funding, realizing they made a big mistake in the Big Beautiful Bill.

Mamdani’s election  tomorrow as New York City’s next mayor shows the failure of the White House narrative, too focused on cutting essential government services to win over the youth vote.   Betting markets predict a whopping victory for Mamdani tomorrow, giving AOC more clout in New York City.  If she decides to run against Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) in 2026, she could have all the momentum she needs to be New York’s next senator. Democrats have won the national debate, regardless of how the GOP tries to fight back.  Cutting $1.5 trillion in Medicaid funding and subsidies for Obamacare has hurt the Republican brand heading into next years Midterm elections.  Mamdani has all the momentum heading into Election Day to score a whopping victory.  New Yorkers want change regardless of all the name-calling and propaganda.
