LOS ANGELES.–President Donald Trump responded to the EU’s attempt to push for a diplomatic settlement of the Israeil-Iran conflict, saying he didn’t think the EU could pull off a political outcome. Trump said Iran could have a nuclear weapon “within a matter of weeks or certain with a matter of months,” hinting, barring some diplomatic miracle, that he would authorize B-2 Stealth Bomber strikes with GBU/57 MOP bunker-buster munitions not something Israel has in its arsenal. Foreign leaders and Trump’s domestic critics warned him from getting involved in Israel’s war with Iran, trying to keep the U.S. from getting embroiled in another foreign war. Trump was asked today whether he saw the future of U.S. boots on the ground in Iran, something Trump said he didn’t see. Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khaemenei warned Trump of making an “irreparable mistake.”
Iran ruled out any talks about its nuke program until Israel ended its aggression in Iran. EU officials told Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi that Iran must stop its nuclear enrichment program, opening up its nuke program to U.N. IAEA inspections. Trump heard Araghchi, who strictly follows the Ayatollah’s orders, say there would be no further talks with the U.S. unless Israel ended its aggression. With that kind of policy, it’s a matter of time before Trump pulls the trigger on B-2 Stealth Bomber attacks on Iran’s Fordow underground enrichment facility. Trump was asked whether he’s willing to tell Netanyahu to suspend his attacks to give diplomacy a chance. Trump said he wasn’t willing to do that leaving a peaceful resolution stalemated. EU’s talks with Araghchi went nowhere, with the Ayatollah rejecting the idea of restricting Iran’s nuclear enrichment program.
Trump said Iran doesn’t want to talk to Europe over its nuke program. “Iran doesn’t want to speak to Europe. They want to speak to us. Europe is not going to be able to help in this one,” Trump said, especially knowing how the EU has mucked up his peace plans in Ukraine. EU officials, led by French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, have joined Zelensky’s madness in demanding that Putin give back all the sovereign territory he’s seized over three years of war. EU officials have all but sabotaged Trump’s peace talk with 72-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin candidly shared what it would take to get the ceasefire and long-term peace deal with Trump’s Mideast peace envoy Steve Witkoff. Zelensky rejected all of Putin’s terms, calling it blackmail to the EU, rejecting all of Putin’s terms for peace.
Trump pegged Zelensky as the greatest salesman in the world, getting billions from the U.S. and European Union. After around $300 billion collected from the U.S. over the last three years in arms-amd-cash, Zelensky considers Trump an enemy of Ukraine. He talks a good game in public but he stabbed Trump in the back at the Munich Security Conference, telling European officials that Trump could care less about European security. Trump provides the largest share of NATO cash-and-weapons, obviously doing more than his part for European security. Zelensky wants to gaslight the EU into believing Trump has a secrete relationship with Putin to negotiate a ceasefire and peace plan that favors Putin. Trump would get Ukraine the best possible deal and end the destruction and carnage from the war. Yet to Zelensky that makes Trump and enemy of Kiev.
Trump knows that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu isn’t ready to stop his military operation to eliminate Iran’s nuclear enrichment program but, more importantly, degrade the Iranian military to the point it can no longer wage war. Iran has only ballistic missiles and drones to fight back against Israel’s precise, targeted bombing campaign, that’s systematically takes out Iran’s air defenses and ballistic missile silos and manufacturing sites. Netanyahu knows that Iran’s ballistic missiles, no matter how inaccurate, are taking a toll on Israeli citizens and structures. Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system has been working overtime defending the country but can’t stop all of Iran’s missiles from getting through. Trump said it would premature to ask Netanyahu at this point to stop his military operation because it’s succeeding in degrading Iran.
Trump gave Iran two weeks to come back to the table. At this point, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Iran will not come back to the table until Israel stops its aggression. Trump isn’t inclined to tell Iran to stop its current operation until Netanyahu finishes his work on Iran’s enrichment and ballistic missile program. Trump plans to decide in the next week whether or not to use B-2 Stealth Bombers to strike Iran’s underground Fordow plan. No one knows whether hitting Fordow with GBU/57 bunker buster munitions will put the nuclear enrichment site out of commission. What’s known for sure is that involving the U.S. in military operation would change Iran’s military plans. Whether they would surrender as Trump says is anyone’s guess. More than likely U.S. involvement would prompt the Ayatollah to strike American targets, escalating the conflict.
