LOS ANGELES.–Former U.N. Amb. and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, 52, was snubbed by 78-year-old President-elect Donald Trump, posting on his Truth Social platform that Haley and 60-year-old former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo would not be joining the Trump Cabinet. Haley acted like an arrogant fool when she ran against Trump in the GOP primaries, not winning a single contest but acting like she was Trump’s closest rival. In reality, Haley was no competitor at all but was put up to harass Trump as long as possible by the Never Trump wing of the Republican Party. Had Haley had any common sense and didn’t shoot herself in the foot, she would have ended her 2024 campaign earlier and endorsed Trump. But she didn’t endorse Trump until July 16, only five days before 81-year-old President Joe Biden dropped out the race. Haley denounced Trump after Jan. 6.
Haley condemned Trump after the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riots, going so far to say that Trump disqualified himself for ever running for federal office. “When I tell you I’m angry, it’s an understatement,” Haley said after the Jan. 6 riots. “Mike has been nothing but loyal to that man. He’s been nothing but a good friend of that man . . .and I’m so disappointed in the fact [despite] the loyalty he had with Mike Pence, that he would do that to him. Like I’m disgusted by it,” Haley said, referring to Trump calling Pence “weak” because he certified the 2020 Electoral College vote. “I don’t think he’s going to be in the picture,” Haley said. “I don’t think he can. He’s fallen too far,” Haley said, predicting Trump wrecked his political future. Haley doesn’t admit her disloyalty to Trump, how she turned on her former boss when it was fashionable by Democrats to do so.
Haley actually thought that Trump should offer her a Cabinet position when she joined Democrat and Trump-hating Republicans is denouncing Trump. Haley like other Democrats and Republicans blamed Trump for the riots, insisting he incited the riots with his Jan. 6 speech on the Ellipse in Washington, D.C. Trump was impeached and acquitted in the Senate Feb. 13, 2021 and investigated for nearly two years by the Jan. 6 House Select Committee who never came up with any proof that Trump planned and orchestrated the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Yet the Jan. 6 House Select Committee, Democrats and media narrative about Trump was he was involved in the riots. Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) practically stood on her head to convince 72-year-old Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland to appoint Special Counsel Jack Smith to charge Trump with obstructing the 2020 election.
Haley actually thought she would be up for some assignment in Trump Cabinet when she stabbed Trump in the back like most Democrats and Trump-hating Republicans. “I will not be inviting former Amb. Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump administration, which is currently in formation. I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our country. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. Haley and Pompeo know that they betrayed Trump after the Jan. 6 riots, jumping on the fake narrative that Trump had anything to do with the riots. “I was proud to work with President Trump defending America in the United Nations. I wish him, and all who serve, great success in moving use forward to a stronger, safer America over the next four years,” Haley said.
Listening to the back-and-forth, it’s clear that Trump, Haley and Pompeo are all biting their tongues but have unfinished business after the end of the Trump administration. Haley prematurely wrote Trump off of ever making a political comeback. Haley knew she burned all her bridges with Trump during the 2020 presidential campaign, but, years before when she hung around in the 2024 GOP primaries when she had no path to the nomination. Haley was easily hijacked by the Never Trump GOP crowd, exploiting her any way possible. Haley proved she never understood or appreciated the man she once worked for. She said after Jan. 6 that Trump disqualified himself from future office, knowing there wasn’t any proof that he participated in any way with Jan. 6. Haley showed, like 58-year-old former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.), how to destroy her political future.
Haley acts like she’s still working for the failed Never Trump coalition. She talks about endorsing Trump even if he isn’t the perfect candidate or even if she doesn’t agree with him on everything. What kind of talk is that for someone seeking work in the Trump White House? Haley proved she’s got a lot to learn about not burning her bridges in politics. Everyone knows in Trump’s inner circle that Halley was among the first Republicans to stab Trump in the back. She badly miscalculated stating that Trump had no political future, showing she has incredibly bad judgment. “I know there are people out there who don’t agree with Donald Trump 100%. I happen to know some of them,” Haley said, referring to her once Never Trump benefactors. “I want to talk to them tonight. My message is simple: You don’t have to agree with Donald Trump 100 percent of the time to vote for him,” Haley said.
