LOS ANGELES.–Warning Iran in the U.N. Security Council today, the U.S. said that further missile strikes by Iran would be met with stiff consequences, suggesting that the Pentagon would go further than Israel’s surgical retaliatory strike on Iran’s selective military targets. Warning Iran of “severe consequences” for more military action against Israel, U.N. Amb. Linda Thomas-Greenfield told Iran in no uncertain terms that the U.S. would get involved in defending Israel if Iran strikes Israel again. “We will not hesitate to act in self-defense,” Thomas-Greenfield told the Security Council. “Let there be no confusion. The United States does not want to see further escalation. We believe this should be the end of any direct exchange of fire between Israel and Iran,” Striking missiles factories and other military sites Oct. 26, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu did not heed calls from Sen. Lindsey Grahma (R-S.C.) and other conservatives to strike Iran’s oil and nuclear infrastructure.
Iran has sponsored proxy war for years against Israel, pouring cash-and-arms into Gaza’s Hamas terrorists, Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia and Yemen’s Houthi rebels. Iran supports terrorism against Israel is part of in anti-Semitic, anti-Zionist campaign to punish Israel for its sovereignty over the Holy Land. Arabs lived in the Holy Land for over 500 years under Ottoman Turk and British control, until the U.K. deeded the British Mandate of Palestine to Israel in 1948. Once Jews controlled the Holy Land, Arabs began revolting, starting rebellions and wars. PLO Founder Arafat referred to Israeli as an occupying force when Arabs were actually occupying Jewish land. Without the 1967 Six-Day War, Israel would not have given the Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem to Palestinians. Palestinians lived under Ottoman and British control for over 500 years without a problems until Israel declared statehood in 1948. Israel gave Palestinians sovereign land in the Gaza Strip, West Bank and East Jerusalem.
So, when it comes to what Iran calls the “axis of resistance,” Iran tries to rally Arab support to destroy the Jewish state. Iran has hosted Holocaust deniers conferences in Tehran, the most vile anti-Semites to join forces to destroy Israel. Hamas Oct. 7, 2023 massacre that killed over 1,200 Israelis and others, taking another 250 hostage in the worst atrocity since the Holocaust. So, when it comes to Iran sponsoring the attacks against Israel from Hamas and Hezbollah, the U.S. has been long overdue for a response. Thomas-Greenfield informed Iran that it was walking on thin ice planning another missile strike against Israel. Iran knows that the U.S. never responded after Iran hijacked the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 54 hostages, holding them for 444 days. Graham and other war hawks in Congress want the Biden administration to take action against Iran. Graham said specifically that the U.S. should take out Iran’s oil infrastructure to stop its terrorist activities.
Iran pretends that it doesn’t support proxy war against Israel in the Mideast. Giving arms-and-cash to Hamas and Hezbollah let to the Oct. 7 massacre and unending rocket attacks by Hezbollah. Hezbollah is actually a part of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps [IRGC] based out Lebanon where they’ve actually hijacked a country, forcing Lebanon’s beleaguered population into a war with Israel. “Iran has consistently championed diplomacy,” Iran Amb. Amir Said Iravani, blaming Iran’s actions on Israel. “However, as a sovereign state, the Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the right to respond at a time of its choosing to this act of aggression,” Iravani said, referring to Israel’s Oct. 26 surgical strike. Iravani knows that his government sponsors terrorism through its proxy groups against Israel, destabilizing Mideast peace. Iran has no real beef with Israel other than pure anti-Semitism, knowing that Jews have lived in Iran for centuries, until the 1979 Islamic Revolution drove them out.
Thomas-Greenfied served notice to Iran that they’re close to crossing a dangerous line where Ayatollah Ali Khaemeni will be forced to deal directly with the United States. Ayatollah says he doesn’t want war with the U.S. but gets dangerously close to pushing the U.S. to intervene. Israeli Amb. Dannon Dannon called on the Security Council of sanction Iran for state sponsored terrorism. “Take the necessary measures to prevent a lunatic regime from attaining nuclear weapons,” Dannon said, responding to the Iranian ambassador. Iran pretends it doesn’t sponsor terrorism against Israel, even though it talks openly about the axis of resistance. Iran likes to counter the influence of Saudi Arabia by destabilizing Mideast peace, watching the Gaza Strip turned into a rock pile, all because, Iran encouraged Hamas to attack Israel in any way it saw fit. Once the Gaza War started, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei told the late Palestinian leader Ismail Haniyeh that Iran would not defend Hamas.
U.N. Amb. Linda Thomas-Greenfield served notice that Iran is one attack away from the Pentagon making a strong statement in Tehran. Iran has sponsored terrorism for too long and no needs to have the U.S. help set limits on its terrorist activities. When it comes to Israel, the U.N. Security Council has no objectivity, often blamings Israel. Russia U.S. Amb. Vassily Nabenzia rebuked Israel for its aggression. Nabenzia doesn’t like to admit Russia’s fault for anything, including the Ukraine War. But clearly Iran walks on thin ice when it comes to the U.S. finally responding to defend Israel. If Iran had it oil infrastructure crushed, they’d think twice about firing more missiles into Israel. Netanyahu sent the Ayatollah a shot across the bow but the next military action would be far more potent. If Iran continues to play tit-for-tat with Israel, look for the U.S. to set the record straight hitting Iran where it hurts. So far, Iran has got away without consequences but that could change soon.
