LOS ANGELES.–Vice President Kamala Harris, 59, was euphoric about becoming heir apparent to 81-year-old Joe Biden who dropped out of the 2024 race July 21, only to find herself embroiled in the rough-and-tumble of the campaign. Already slamming Trump for sabotaging a women’s right to choose abortion with the Supreme Court reversing 1973 Roe v. Wade June 24, 2022, Kamala now gets back some of her own medicine. Calling Kamala “dumb as a rock,” 78-year-old Prsident Donald Trump reminded Kamala if she’s going to throw mud, he can do the same thing. Kamala’s 59-year-old entertainment attorney husband Douglas Emhoff didn’t like hearing Trump rip his wife, the Democrat Party’s 2024 nominee. Emhoff isn’t used to what’s going to happen with Democrat making the 2024 race about Trump, not the issues confronting American like the border, inflation or the Ukraine War.

Trump can fully expect Kamala will slam Trump from now until Election Day for appointing Supreme Court justices than ended Roe v. Wade, a woman’s right to choose abortion at her time and preference. Kamala plans to make abortion the primary campaign issue, appealing to women across the country, especially suburban soccer moms, actually that don’t support indiscriminate abortion allowed under Roe v. Wade. Kamala already appeals to poor Black women that can’t afford abortion except with government assistance through clinics like Planned Parenthood. So the abortion issue could very well backfire on Kamala because since the June 24, 2022 Supreme Court ruling, the matter of regulating or banning abortion has gone with the states, not the federal government. Harris feels comfortable slamming Trump on abortion but knows little about the economy or foreign policy.

Emhoff is going to have to toughen up if he expects to survive what’s left of the 2024 campaign because it’s going to get ugly. “You heard the vice president yesterday making the case against Donald Trump very clearly,” said second gentlemen Emhoff today. “But she also laid out a vision for the future, a vision where there’s freedom, where we’re not having to talk about these issues of today in the post-Dobbs hell-scape that Donald Trump created,” Emhoff said, opening his wife to more attacks. Emhoff spoke on a tour of Washington, D.C. Meadow Reproductive Health and Wellness, proving low-cost abortions to underserved communities. Supreme Court’s June 24, 2022 decision on Dobbs v. Jackson, ruled that the Constitution afforded no right to abortion as expressed in Roe v. Wade. Conservatives have worked on reversing Roe v. Wade since 1973.

After Biden’s endorsement July 21 of Harris, the Democrat Party for the most part has lined up behind Harris. Democrats were thrown into chaos after the June 27 CNN debate where Biden looked incoherent and unfit for president, certainly for another term. Democrats spent nearly a month in a pitched battle against Bidien who initially refused to get out the race. Democrat Party bosses like former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and former President Barack Obama heaped pressure on Biden to finally withdraw from the race. Many other top Democrats, like 74-year-old Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and 51-year-old House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) called on Biden to throw in the towel. Ultimately, Biden acquiesced but not before giving the party fits over the last month. Lining up behind Kamala, ends all the dissent heading into the Aug. 19 DNC Convention.

Democrats are still so euphoric about getting rid of Biden they can’t see any of the down-side to Kamala, including her 38% approval ratings. She wasn’t particularly liked as vice president yet now, because she’s the top of the ticket there’s no other real option, she’s touted as a great Democrat nominee. “We’re going to prosecute the case against Donald Trump and his lies,” Emhoff said. “Kamala Harris has united the party. She’s going to unite the country,” said Emhoff, making up things as he goes. Emhoff has no clue how long the Kamala euphoria will last, if at all. She’s had a subdued role as vice president for the last three-and-a-half years, leaving Biden all the limelight. Harris said she’s used to taking on “predators,” “fraudsters” and “cheaters,” favorite anti-Trump Democrat talking points. Kamala’s about to find out that only attacking Trump only goes so far.

When the dust settles over Kamala Harris as Democrats’ anointed one to take on Trump, she’ll resort to her comfortable issues like women’s rights or pro-choice on abortion. “We’re also going to move on from this type of environment, this Dobbs—where freedoms are taken away, where autonomy is taken away,” Imhoff said. “All this going to change and it must change,” using women’s rights and Roe v. Wade Kamala’s key issues. Taking over for Biden, Kamala has much bigger fish to fry like prosecuting his proxy war in Ukraine against the Kremlin, managing Biden’s disastrous open border policy, the destructive war in Gaza, Iranian-backed Houthis wrecking shipping in the Red Sea and possibly war brewing against Communist China in Taiwan. If Harris has nothing to say about the major issues facing the U.S., it won’t be long before voters don’t take her seriously.
