LOS ANGELES.–Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press” to Kristen Welker, 39-year-old Rep. Elaine Stefanik (R-N.Y) put the Democrat-controlled news network in its place, showing after taking down three Ivy League presidents that she’s a force in the GOP. Stefanik is fresh off cross examining Dec. 7 former Harvard President Claudine Gay, former Penn President Liz Magil and MIT President Sally Kornbluth in the House Education and Workplace Committee. Concerned about anti-Semitic protests on college campuses, House Republicans dragged the Ivy League presidents to ask what they’re doing about it. Stefanik asked Harvard’s Gay if calling for genocide against Jews violated Harvard’s bullying and harassment policy. When Gay said, “it depends on the context,” she wrote her own obituary. Now Stefanik responds to NBC’s anti-Trump media bias.

Welker thought she had Stefanik on the ropes when it came to defending Jewish citizens during the Israeli-Hamas war but now hits her with Trump’s recent remarks about Biden’s open border policy “poisoning the blood of our country.” Welker repeated the latest Democrat talking points about Trump sounding like Adolf Hitler, taking completely out of context the meaning of Trump’s statements. Trump wasn’t talking about any animus toward Hispanics, he was referring to the Fentanyl crisis flooding the border, killing U.S. citizens. Stefanik wouldn’t have any of Wellker’s questions. “Well, yet again, we have the media which is so biased, which is reiterating whatever the talking points the Biden campaign is giving,” said Stefanik. Welker pretended saying she was just giving Stefanik a chance to clarify what Trump meant by “poisoning the blood” comment.

Trump has enough legal problems dogging his 2024 campaign only a week out from the Iowa Caucuses. Welker, like other journalists on left-wing TV, ask only defamatory questions about Trump, pushing White House talking points about Trump the dictator, trying to destroy U.S. democracy. No one in the liberal press says a thing about Biden’s reckless Ukraine War that’s destabilized U.S. foreign policy and national security. Welker says nothing about Biden being the first and only U.S. president to go to war against the Kremlin. Yet the liberal press seems to promote the Ukraine War, despite the drain on the U.S. Treasury and damage to U.S. foreign policy and national security. Welker seems focused on pushing the White House narrative that Trump is a danger to U.S. democracy. Voters are more concerned about Biden’s age and fitness to serve another term.

Stefanik showed that she’s no shrinking violet when it comes challenging the liberal press. “Our border crisis is poisoning Americans through fentanyl . . .so yes, I stand by President Trump,” Stefanik. Stefanik doesn’t buy the implication that Trump used language out of Hitler’s autobiography, “Mein Kampf.” Trump doesn’t read much historic literature and it’s doubtful he’s pandering to neo-Nazis in right wing groups like the Proud Boys or Oath Keepers. Welker asked Stefanik whether she stood by Trump’s “words.” “Yes, Stefanik said. “Trump has the “strongest record it comes to supporting the Jewish people,” refuting Welker’s smear related to Trump acting like Hitler. Stefanik’s toughness with Welker gets her on Trump’s radar for a possible VP pick Stefanik showed, like she did with Ivy League presidents, she’s no pushover to the liberal press.

Republicans need more politicians like Stefanik to confront the anti-Trump press, doing everything possible to promote Biden’s reelection. But Welker knows the polls that show that Democrats and Republicans don’t back Biden’s bid for another team. If Trump were knocked out of the race, it would favor former Amb. Nikki Haley or Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for president. Democrats couldn’t run Biden against either Haley or DeSantis. Biden only runs against Trump because he beat him in 2020, If Trump drops out, look to Democrats to stop Biden from running in 2924. Polls clearly show that Republicans and Democrats do not want Biden for four more years. Stefanik shows the kind of toughness needed by Republicans to confront the Democrat-controlled media and win back the White House. Whether it’s with Trump or a younger candidate, the GOP wants to win.
