Defending pro-Palestinian groups at Harvard University to express anti-Israeli sentiment, Havard Divinity School graduate and former professor Cornel West, now running as an independent for president, largely agreed with the student complaints against Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. West “Israel and [the] United States are primarily responsible for the atrocities the took place by Hamas terrorists after breaching the Gaza border and rampaging in Kubbutzes near the Gaza border, slaughtering men, women and children Nazi-ISIS style killing. Reports of dismemberment and children beheadings came from first responders at the scene recovering body parts for proper burial and forensic analysis. West likes to identify with the underdog, especially with White society’s treatment of African Americans and other oppressed groups in the U.S. Palestinians sell the same message of Israel’s slave-like oppression
West says that Harvard student groups largely got it “right” but lacked “nuance,” reluctantly admitting that violence begets more violence. But West doesn’t get that using Nazi/ISIS tactics, committing mass murder, unspeakable beheadings, Mafia-like executions, dismemberment, etc., are not acceptable tactics to advance the Palestinian agenda for human and civil rights. Hamas leaders knew when they sent terrorists to rampage against Israel civilians that that it would trigger a fierce response from Israel, but, more importantly, the civilized world, unwilling to advance any political agenda through savage-like terrorism. “The United States bears some responsibility, no doubt about that. And I think that Hamas and jihad bear responsibility for killing innocent people,” said West. West rejects 80-year-old President Joe Biden when he says Nazi/ISIS tactics won’t be tolerated.
West forgot or ignores what happened on Sept. 11, when Osama bin Laden took out the collective Muslim rage to murder nearly 3,000 U.S. citizens and others, decimating the World Trade Center and Pentagon. West agrees with Muslim complaints and justifications for committing unspeakable violence against the United States. West calls it “nuance.” Former President George W. Bush made clear that the U.S. government does not accept terrorism as a tactic to advance political agendas. West’s “nuance” doesn’t see how a moral line must be drawn about how aggrieved parties redress grievances. West sided for months with Black Lives Matter backing riots, looting, arson and mayhem, including burning and hijacking cities, to protest racial inequality and police brutality after George Floyd’s death. West can’t justify beheadings and dismemberment to make a point.
No civil society can tolerate lawlessness, violence and mayhem to advance human and civil rights. “Palestinians have aright to defend themselves in a the same way that Israel has a right to defend itself. There’s no doubt about that. But neither has a right to kill innocent people,” West said. Well, what happened in Kibbutzes near the Gaza border was not a suicide bomb or simply military style killings, it was akin to sadistic, inhumane and unspeakable tactics used by Nazis and ISIS terrorists. What doesn’t West get that Hamas crossed a line repeating the same genocide performed by history’s most despicable regimes? Palestinians have rights but they can’t commit any atrocity to advance the cause of Palestinian rights. Remember, Palestininas lived under Ottoman rule for 500 years in the Holy Land, then Under British rule, after 1920 Treaty of Sevres gave sovereignty to the U.K.
For the 28 years Britain held sovereignty of the Holy Land, Palestinians weren’t in continuous uprisings about their human and civil rights. Only after Britain gave sovereignty to Jews in the wake of the Holocaust did Palestinians start protests and ongoing wars and protests. Whether admitted to or not, Israel offered more opportunities for peace-and-prosperity to Palestinians than the Ottomans and United Kingdom. Palestinians over the last 75 year have been given every chance to renounce violence and accept Israel’s right to exist. Even the most cynical Palestinians know that human-and-civil rights are part of Jewish DNA. What Israelis won’t tolerate is Nasz/ISIS-like terrorism as a tactic to advance a political agenda. Yet Hamas is joined at the hip with the Nazi-like mullah regime in Iran continuing Hitler’s Final Solution to wipe Jews off the earth.
West agrees with pro-Palestinian groups at Harvard and other institutions that “The Israeli regime is entirely responsible for all the unfolding violence,” blaming Israel for Hamas committing unspeakable atrocities in their Oct. 7-8 rampage near the Gaza border that blindsided Israel. Massacring 260 teenagers and children at a music festival in the Negev desert near Gaza, then killing a thousand more in Kibbutzes near the Gaza border, dismembering bodies, beheading babies and children in the name of Palestine liberation runs afoul with the civilized world. Whether you agree, like West, with the Palestinian cause, Hamas commits any atrocity in the name of advancing its political agenda. President Joe Biden left no doubt, that the U.S. has “Israel’s back,” giving Prime Minister everything he needs to root out Hamas terrorists from Gaza and restore civilized dialogue for peace.
