Testifying today in the highly partisan House Judiciary Committee, 73-year-old former Special Counsel John Durham told the committee that the FBI didn’t have probable cause to launch a counterintelligence investigation of former President Donald Trump’s alleged ties to Moscow. Durham told the contentious committee that former FBI Director James Comey, 62, did not have adequate probable cause to launch any counterintelligence investigation of Trump or his 2016 campaign. Durham spoke behind closed doors yesterdayino the House Intelligence Committee, confirming that Comey did not have probable cause or predicate to investigate Trump on spurious charges stemming from former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton paid opposition research AKA the Steele dossier. Durham was attacked as a political hack by 76-year-old Rep. Jerald Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.)..
Democrats led by Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) and Nadler want to justify the FBI’s 2016 counterintelligence investigation of Trump, putting all its faith in the FBI. Schiff and Nadler know that Democrats and the press wanted to elect Hillary in 2016, doing everything in the DOJ and FBI to accuse Trump of Russian collusion. When it didn’t work and Trump won the election Nov. 3, 2016, Schiff, Nadler and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) sought Trump’s impeachment, continuing the Russian hoax. When Trump got wind of FBI Director James Comey leaks to the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC and other liberal outlets, he fired him May 8, 2017. Democrats demanded that a Special Counsel be appointed, something done by former Deputy Atty. Gen. Rod Rosenstein because Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions (R-Al.) recused himself.
Durham testified today that the DOJ and FBI didn’t follow its own policies and procedures in investigating Trump and his 2016 campaign. Democrats like Nadler and Schiff want to cover-up that the DOJ and FBI had turned political in going after Trump. New outlets like the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, MSNBC, etc., broadcast and wrote untold stores validating the Russian hoax. Forget about the fact that it was built off Hillary’s Steele dossier, a know compendium of fabrications used by Hillary to dierail the Trump campaign. Schiff and Nadler continue to insist that Trump colluded with the Kremlin to win the 2016 presidential election. Nadler and Schiff spent their time today arguing with Durham about Russian collusion. Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded in his 448-page Final Report that Trump or his campaign did not conspire with the Kremlin to win the 2016 election.
Whatever objections to Durham’s testimony, it looks obvious that Schiff and Nadler want to discredit Durham, rather than admit that the DOJ, FBI and U.S. news outlets jumped the gun concluding Trump was guilty of Russian collusion. “I think that we were able to get some information that would be very helpful for us and the work that we have to do on both the [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] renewal, FISA reforms and also reform issues with the FBI,” Durham said. How Schiff and Nadler continue to argue Durham was a GOP political hack is unknown? Schiff and Nadler continue to deny that the DOJ and FBI engaged in biased, selective and political prosecution of Trump. Nadler and Schiff can’t admit that numerous fake stories were written and reported about Trump’s Russian collusion. No one has called out the press for pushing the fake Russian narrative.
Durham’s report must be challenged because it shows corruption at the highest levels of the DOJ, FBI and U.S. press, all conspired to push the Russian hoax. “The [Justice] Department and the FBI failed to uphold their important mission of strict fidelity to the law,” Durhan said in his Final Report. “Senior FBI personnel displayed a serious lack of analytical rigor toward the information they received, especially information received from political affiliated persons or entities,” Durham said referring to Hillary Steele dossier. Schiff and Nadler refuse to admit serious breaches at the DOJ and FBI because they wholeheartedly backed the Russian hoax. Schiff and Nadler wanted to get Trump out of office anyway they could, whether it involved abusing federal law enforcement to achieve their ends. FBI Director Christopher Wray, who replaced Comey, insists reforms have been made.
Democrats have dismissed Durham’s four-year investigation as a political hack job. But Durham had no ax to grind other than getting to the bottom of Comey’s Crossfire Hurrican investigation into Trump’s allege Russian collusion. It didn’t matter to former President Barack Obama or then Vice President Joe Biden whether federal law enforcement was used to investigate Trump without any legitimate probable cause. Durham found the same things as DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz, also finding Dec. 11, 2018 that the DOJ and FBI didn’t follow proper procedures in investigating Trump and his 2016 campaign. Democrats can deny all they want but FBI Director Christopher Wray said he has implemented all of Horowitz’s recommendations. If there were no problems at the FBI, why would Wary say he’s implemented recommended reforms urged by the Inspector General?
