Former FBI Director James Comey, 62, continues to run his mouth when given a chance about his past run-ins with 76-year-old former President Donald Trump. Trump fired Comey May 9, 2017 for leaking fake stories about Trump’s alleged ties to the Kremlin to the New York Times and Washington Post. Both newspapers were not innocent parties but rather worked day-and-night to spread propaganda and disinformation about Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign and his four years in office. Comey’s firing for cause prompted Deputy Atty. Gen. Rod Rosenstein to appoint Special Counsel Robert Mueller to investigate Trump’s allege ties to the Kremlin. Comey knew there was no case against Trump but opened up a counterintelligence investigation based on former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton’s paid opposition research AKA “the Steele dossier.”
Comey was only one part of the corrupt Obama administration that used the federal law enforcement and intelligence apparatus to discredit Trump’s 2016 campaign for only one purpose: To help Hillary beat Trump. When that failed, Comey continued to leak to the New York Times and Washington Post fake stories about Trump’s alleged ties to the Kremlin. When Special Counsel John Durham (R-Conn.) released his 330-page final report May 15 about Crossfire Hurricane, Comey’s counterintelligence investigation into Trump, it confirmed the FBI under Comey violated FBI policies and procedures for opening up a criminal investigation. Comey relied exclusively on Hillary bogus opposition research. Mueller knew that but agreed to investigate Trump’s alleged ties to the Kremlin to satisfy a rabidly anti-Trump Democrat Party, willing to do anything to remove him from office.
Former Atty. Gen. Bill Barr said in Comey spied on Trump’s 2016 campaign, prompting Comey to fire back, “I don’t know what the heck he’s talking about,” acting clueless about his Crossfire Hurricane investigate. Comey didn’t think he needed to follow FBI policy and procedures to investigate the GOP’s 2016 nominee. Comey showed his extreme prejudice against Trump saying he was a “threat to the rule of law.” What type of threat was Comey to rule of law when he arbitrarily decided for political purposes to investigate Trump? Durham’s report corroborated what Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz found Dec. 9, 2019 when he said the FBI committed numerous mistakes. “There’s always going to be mistakes” in FBI investigations Comey said, never admitting he violated FBI rules and practices for opening up criminal probes.
Calling Trump a threat to democracy exposes for all to see Comey the con artist, accepting no responsibility for his actions as FBI director. “He [Trump] represents a serious threat to the rule of law in this country,” Comey told ultra-liberal MSNBC. “And anyone with eyes to see can see that,” preaching to anti-Trump choir. But as FBI Director, Comey held the same animus toward Trump but for more nefarious reasons. Comey worked in concert with the Obama administration and the DOJ to do anything possible to prevent Trump from becoming president, to help Hillary get elected. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) works feverishly to clean up corruption at the DOJ and FBI, all because of Comey’s tenure. Saying Trump threatens the rule of law is like “the pot calling the kettle black,” when Comey was the one weaponizing the nation’s premier law enforcement agency.
Jordan put Comey’s replacement, FBI Director Christopher Wray, on notice that he needed to respond to his subpoena for face a contempt of Congress vote. Jordan asked for a copy of an FBI record showing that a complaint was made against 80-year-old President Joe Biden for taking a bribe from a foreign government while Vice President. Wray promised to clean up the FBI under Comey, when IG Horowitz recommended numerous corrections in the department. “It doesn’t mean the FBI isn’t competent, honest and independent,” Comey said, responding to his corrupt action while serving as director. Comey was part of the deep state corruption that plagued government agencies during the Obama administration. Deputy Atty. Gen. Lisa Monaco, architect of Crossfire Hurricane, still works for the DOJ. Comey continues to blow smoke about FBI corruption during his time at the FBI.
Calling Trump a threat to democracy, Comey shows his cavalier side, deflecting any accountability for his illegal activities while investigating Trump and his 2016 campaign. Durham was able to convict on one individual, former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith. Clinesmith was convicted for altering a letter sent to the Foreign Intelligence Serveillsnce Act Court to obtain a warrant to wiretap former Trump foreign policy aid Carter Page. Clinesmith deleted from his letter to the FISA court that Carter Page worked or the CIA. If that’s not a conspiracy then what is? Comey and 67-year-old former CIA John Brennan never paid any price for their illegal actions against Trump. Unlike Comey, Brennan restrains himself from public remarks. Saying Trump is a threat to U.S. democracy, Comey shows what’s wrong with former government officials using their position for politics.
