Secretary of State Antony Blinken, 60, demonstrated why U.S. foreign policy under 80-year-president Joe Biden is in shambles, begging 72-year-old Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavro to release recently detained 32-year-old Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich. Gershokovich was detained March 28 by the FSB [formerly KGB], Russia’s domestic security service, claiming the U.S. reporter was spying on the Russian military establishment. Blinken called on Lavrov to release Gerskhovich and former Marine and 63-year-old security executive Paul Whelan. Blinken hasn’t talked with Lavrov since the two met at the sidelines of the March 2 G20 summit in India. Diplomatic relations between the two superpowers is at a all-time low since Biden joined the Ukraine War, supplying unlimited cash-and-arms to Kiev, refusing to move the conflict to the peace table.
Blinken demands for Gershkovich’s release fell on deaf ears with the U.S. engaged in a deadly proxy war against the Kremlin. Instead of helping Ukraine diplomatically to resolve its conflict with the Kremlin, Biden decided unilaterally to fund a proxy war against the Kremlin to force Mosow into meeting Kiev’s demands to respect Ukrainian sovereignty, pulling all Russian forces out of Ukraine. Biden has all but wrecked U.S. Russian relations for the foreseeable future, making diplomatic solutions next to impossible. Blinken has been Biden’s chief cheerleader on the Ukraine War, repeating the rubbish that without U.S. military intervention, 70-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin would move the war to other former Soviet satellites in Eastern Europe. Biden and Blinken have spewed the same claptrap since the war started Feb. 24, 2022.
European Union [EU] allies have reluctantly gone along with Biden’s proxy war knowing the consequences to Brussels, including the worst inflation in over 40 years. No one in Brussels wants war on the European Continent, realizing that the longer the war drags on in what is grinding war of attrition, the more likely the conflict could spread to other EU countries. Some European countries, like Hungary and the Czech Republic, haven’t joined Biden’s anti-Kremlin bandwagon, only reluctantly helping Ukraine with cash-and-arms.. French President Emmanuel Macron, 45, embroiled in his own domestic pension reform scandal, has worked feverishly to bring the war to the peace table. German Chancelor Olaf Scholz, 64, has been brow-beaten into supplying Kiev with advance weapon systems. Biden’s proxy war has made ordinary diplomacy impossible under the current proxy war.
Blinken claims he recognizes “the importance of creating an environment that permits diplomatic relations to carry out their work,” pretending he Ukraine War doesn’t make diplomatic relations impossible. When Biden decided to fund a proxy war against the Kemlin, what did he think would happen to U.S. diplomatic relations? Biden has killed for the foreseeable future any cooperation with the Russian Federation. War hawks, led by the White House, have created the worst anti-Russian fever in Congress since the end of WW II. Gone are decades of hard-fought diplomatic relations, working on détente with the former Soviet Union. Lavrov told Blinken in their phone call “drew Blinken’s attention to the need to respect decisions of the Russian authorities,” saying Gershkovich was “caught red handed” spying on the Russian Federation. Biden told the Putin to “let him go”
Biden and Blinken think they can pressure Russia into releasing Gershkowich the same way they did 32-year-old WNBA star Brittney Griner, released from a Russian penal colony Dec. 8, 2022. Griner was a thorn in Biden’s side, with many high profile athletes and various Black lobbying groups demanding White House action. When it comes to Gershkovich and Whelan, the White House will have to change directions on the Ukraine War before anything constructive can happen. White House officials can already see what happens when you wreck U.S.-Russian diplomatic relations. North Korea’s Kim Jong-un already threatens the U.S. and South Korea with more dangerous and accurate nuclear weapons. Biden has no help from Russia or China to deal with North Korean’s dangerous nuclear activities, something Putin helped out in the past, no longer possible now.
Biden and Blinken have taken U.S. foreign policy down the most dangerous path in generations. Going to war against the Kremlin under fake pretences of Putin taking over the rest of Europe is preposterous. War hawks in Congress, led by 67-year-old Sen. Lindsey Grham (R-S.C.) would push the U.S. into WW III, all because he hates Putin. Biden has carried the same grudge toward Putin from his days as VP in the Obma administration when Putin beat the U.S. proxy war against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Obama and Blinken spent billions for eight years in a failed attempt to topple al-Assad’s Damascus regime, arming Syrian rebel groups When Putin joined the fight to save al-Assad, Obama and Biden’s proxy war ended. Now Biden finds himself in a quagmire in Ukraine, giving Kiev unlimited cash-and-arms to defeat the Russian Federation all but destroying diplomatic relations.
