Showing why the Jan. 6 House Select Committee can’t be taken seriously, Chairman Bernie Thomson (D-Miss.) announced they voted 9-0 to subpoena 76-year-old President Donald Trump to testify. Thomson and other partisan members of the Committee know they’ll never hear from Trump, continuing to grand stand in their show trial all designed to blame Trump for the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Thomson wanted to answer the question of whether or not Trump will ever be held accountable for his alleged role in the Jan. 6 Capitol mayhem. “He is required to answer for his actions,” Thomson said, convinced that Trump planned and orchestrated the riots. “We have like no doubt—none–that Donald Trump led an effort to upend American democracy that directly resulted in the violence of Jan. 6,” Thomson said. Thomson, like other members of the committee, believes that Trump must be held accountable.
Thomson hasn’t changed his mind since June 9, 2022, the date of the first Committee hearing. No one on the committee heard any opposition point view, showing that their committee hearings were biased to the max against Trump. Thomson’s Co-Chair, Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.), believes Trump was guilty from the beginning planning and orchestrating the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. When House Democrats, led by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), argued to the Senate that Trump was guilty of “inciting an insurrection,” it was based on what they said was a hateful speech at the Ellipse in the morning of Jan. 6. Democrats said that Trump provoked the crowd into attacking the Capitol. Then, the FBI came out with their findings that the Capitol riots were planned for months, not a spontaneous event on Jan. 6. With so many stories changing, what’s the public supposed to think?
So Democrats have changed their narrative on Trump’s role in the Capitol riots, leaving Bernie and Cheney believing he was responsible for planning and orchestrating the Jan. 6 insurrection. Thomson stated emphatically that Trump was guilty of inciting an insurrection, despite knowing that he told his backers in his speech at the Ellipse to go peacefully to the Capitol. Former Chief of State Mark Measdows assistant Cassidy Hutchinson testified that Trump tired to commandeer the presidential limousine when the Secret Service returned Trump from the Ellipse to the White House. Former Secret Service Agent Tony Ornato, who was in the limousine with Trump, refuted Hutchinson’s secondhand story that Trump tried to grab the steering wheel. Yet Democrats tout Hutchinson’s testimony because it makes Trump look bad. Thomson and Cheney insist Trump tried to overthrow the U.S. government.
When Democrats and the media ran videotape of the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, they showed rabble-rousers attacking Capital Police. For months after the death of 42-year-old D.C. Police officer Brian Sicknick, the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN and MSNBC, said Sick died from injuries sustained when an angry Capitol mob bashed in his head with a fire extinguisher. It took four months before the D.C. coroners prepared his autopsy on Sicknick, saying he died of a stroke from natural causes. Yet the nation’s leading papers and broadcast outlets staked their reputation of Sicknick killed by angry Trump “supporters.” So when Democrats and the press change narrative to only make Trump look bad on Jan. 6, 2021, you wonder what else are they lying about? Only one person died at the hands of Capitol Police Jan. 6, 2021, 36-year-old Arizona resident Ashli Babbitt shot at close range.
Democrats and the press made the case that Trump led a band of rabble-rousers designed overthrow the U.S., government. Yet if you look at how Capitol Hill protesters were provoked, there’s no evidence they carried heavy firearms with which to carry out a real coup d’etat. Capitol rioters were armed with cell phones, not lethal weapons, refuting the idea they tired to overthrow the government. Saying Trump tried to overthrow the U.S. government Jan. 6 is preposterous. Rioters didn’t stop the House from certifying the Nov. 3, 2020 election in the Electoral College for Trump. Relying on bombshell tidbits from Hutchinson or other witnesses can’t hide the fact that no one Jan. 6 tried to overthrow the U.S. government. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif..), Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said the Secret Service knew days in advance that their could be violence on Jan. 6.
House Democats’ Jan. 6 House Select Committee has tried Trump one more time for “incitement of insurrection” on Jan. 6. However scary the rabble-rousers, they were not equipped to overthrow anything, including stopping the Electoral College certification of Biden’s election. Trump fumed about his idea about voter fraud, hurting his brand and damaging his credibility. Exit polls for the Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election showed that voters were fed up with Covid-19, race riots and a lingering recession from pandemic shutdowns. Voters wanted change in 2020 and now pay the price with Biden’s abysmal management of the economy and foreign policy. Now at war with the Russian Federation, strapped by runaway inflation and lingering recession, voters now have second thoughts about Biden. Jan. 6 House hearings preached to choir for the last year, convinced they’re right.
