Seizing control of a chemical plant in Sievierodonetsk in Donbas, the Russian army took another strategic city in Donbas, cementing Russian territorial gains in the southeastern region. Western officials claim Ukraine retreated to fight another day, a convenient excuse given up and down the entire Black Sea coastline where Russian has seized Ukraine’s strategic port cities. But 44-year-old Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky and his 40-year-old Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba never admit how badly the war has gone since 69-year-old Russian President Vladimr Putin invaded Ukraine Feb. 24. Ukraine and its Western Alliance led by 79-year-old President Joe Biden insist Ukraine defeated the Russian military in Kiev, where Putin decided not to conquer the Ukrainian capital but expend its resources capturing the strategic Donbas region on Southeastern Ukraine.
Seizing Sieveirodonetsk is another blow to Zelensky’s U.S. and NATO-backed war, claiming that if he only had more lethal weapons, he’d win the battle with the Russian Federation. Instead of moving the conflict to the Istanbul peace table, Biden and Zelensky has chosen to fight the Russian Federation, something noted by the Kremlin. No one in the Kremlin is under the illusion that the Ukraine War is about Kiev retrieving its lost sovereign territory. Biden and his 69-year-old Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said publicly that the aim of the Ukraine War is to degrade the Russian military to the point it can no longer wage war. Today’s report in the Washington Post says that unnamed intel sources say that the Russian military is running out of troops and equipment, suggesting the Ukraine military should make gains in the next few months. No evidence is presented to support the intel reports.
Russian has systematically destroyed Ukraine and taken the Donbas region, including the entire Black Sea Coastline. Ukraine and the U.S. refuse to admit the extent of Ukrainian losses to the Russian Federation because it runs counter to the narrative that Kiev is winning the war. There’s no credible evidence, on the ground, thatUkraine has done anything over the last four months other than lose territory to Moscow. Serthiy Haidai, governor of Luhansk province, confirmed that Russian and separatist fighters control Sievierodonetsk, now trying to blockade Lyschansk from the south. Capturing Lyschansk gives the Russian military firm control of Donbas but Russia already controls much of the territory. Russia’s interfax news agency said that Russian fighters had already entered Lychansk, with fighting taking place for control of the city, just south of Sievierodonetsk.
Zelensky said in his nightly video that the war was not expected to last five days but now is in its fifth month, saying Ukraine has held its own. But any objective review of Zelensky’s defense of Ukraine shows that he’s lost the entire Black Sea coast and now looks to lose all of Donbas to the Russian army. All the talk from British intelligence saying that Russia looks to run out of resources and personnel in the next few months is utter rubbish. British intelligence has grossly misstated and miscalculated the Russian advance into Ukraine territory from Day One. “When we know that the enemy woll no succeed, when understand that we can defend our country, but we don’t know how long it will take, how many more attacks, loses and efforts there will before we can see that victory is already on our horizon,” Zelensky said, spewing war propaganda to cover-up Kiev’s staggering losses over the last four months.
Putin offered Zelensky an off ramp over three months ago, simply recognizing the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk, and Russian sovereignty over Crimea. Zelensky and Biden said “no” to Putin, committing the war to neutralizing the Russian military. Biden and Zelensky don’t tell the truth about staggering Ukraine losses, just like when Mariupol fell to Russian forces May 18. Before Mariupol fell, Zelensky said Ukrainain forces holed up in the Azovstal Steelworks fought like “300,” where some 300 Spartans battled and beat the mighty Persian Army in 480 B.C. Once Mariuopol fell, Kiev and Washington said nothing, the same thing now in Sievierodonetsk. Every Ukrainian loss is denied by Kiev and Washington, fearing that continued losses in Ukraine would put pressure on Zelensky to go to the peace table. Biden has shown no interest in peace, continuing to fund the Kiev government and the Ukraine War, now taking far more time to complete.
Zelensky now puts all his hope in the HIMARs [High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems], giving Kiev a level playing field with the Russian Federation. Trained outside Ukraine, Zelensky hopes the new medium-rage rockets systems will beat back the Russian offensive. Russia claims it’s destroyed some the HIMARs rocket systems but there’s no confirmation. Calling the retreat from Sievierodonetsk as “tactical retrograde,” an unnamed U.S. military official claims Kiev will eventually get the upper hand with the new missile system. Putin has countered the new HIMARs rocket systems by supplying Belarus with Iskander-M missile systems that enable Belarus Presidetn Alexander Lukashenko the ability to hit any target in Ukraine. Whatever the situation, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stotenberg said last week that the Ukraine War could go on for years, not boding well for Kiev.
