Slovakia announced today that it would send Ukraine its Soviet-era S-300 missile defense system, capable of shooting fighter jets and Cruise missiles out of the sky. Ukraine’s 44-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky and his 40-year-old Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba have been begging the U.S. and NATO countries for more sophisticated weapons to counter act Russia’s Feb. 24 Ukraine invasion, now in its 45 day. While the U.S. and Ukraine say that Russian has taken a beating, the fact remains that most of Ukraine is in ruins after Russia’s relentless air strikes. Ukraine’s been baiting Russia into hand-to-hand urban combat, something Putin has resisted for obvious reasons. But as the war progressed, Putin realized he could wreak the most damage on Ukraine through methodical air strikes. Putin seems to have shifted gears, looking ahead to securing Donbass.

Ukraine has warned that the battle for Donbass will rival WW II in its ferocity, sending a loud message to the Kremlin that it will become Putin’s Waterloo. Getting more heavy weapons from the U.S. and NATO countries, Ukraine now thinks it can drive the Russian army out of Donbass when the battle begins. Getting the S-300 from Slovakia gives Ukraine a leg up in battling Putin’s air war, making it more difficult for the Russian air force to continue its air superiority. Viewing Donbass as the pivotal battle, Zelensky hopes to have all of the U.S. and NATO heavy weapons in place to challenge the Russian army. Russia has watched its former Soviet satellites to turn its weapons to battling the Russian Federation. “Russia has turned the Ukrainian sky into a source of death for thousands of people,” Zelensky told the U.S. Congress, asking for more up-to-date weapons.

Whether anyone admits it or not, it’s become obvious that the U.S. and NATO are now in a proxy war against the Russian Federation. Using Ukrainian proxies, the U.S. and NATO decided to oust Putin, something Putin now fights for his survival. Supplying Ukraine tanks last week, the Czech Republic was the first NATO country to supply Ukraine with heavy weapons. Zelensky has asked for fighter jets to challenge Russia in the skies but, so far, Poland and the U.S. haven’t found an acceptable way to deliver the jets. What’s beyond ironic is that the U.S. and NATO countries still pretend that they’re not at war with the Russian Federation. As long as Ukrainians do the fighting, everyone can pretend that the U.S. and NATO are not at war with the Kremlin. But let there be no mistake, the U.S. and NATO are at war with Russia. Putin knows that Donbass could be his Waterloo.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltengberg denied that NATO was at war with the Kremlin, only saying that individual NATO members are free to give Ukraine anything they wish in terms of lethal weapons. Reports out of Bucha, a suburb of Kiev, of 300 execution-style deaths and yesterday’s attack on Kramatorsk train atation killing 50, have prompted NATO counties to send Ukraine more lethal weapons. “It could be a big war in Donbass—like the world has not seen in hundreds of years,” Zelensky said, in typical hyperbole. Zelensky needs to go back no further than WW II where there were plenty of hard fought battles between Russia and the allies with the Nazis. “We will go on defending out country until the end,” Zelensky said, warning the Kremlin to back down. Zelensky and the Western Alliance have been fighting a determined propaganda battle against Moscow.

President Joe Biden, 79, NATO, EU and Ukraine have shows no interest in settling anything with Zelensky in Istanbul, instead collecting all the offensive and defensive weapons to battle the Russian army in Donbass. Kiev hopes to push Russian forces once-and-for-all out of Ukraine, essentially winning the war. But with Putin believing the war is between the Kremlin and the U.S.-NATO, it’s not likely that he’ll risk losing a humiliating battle with Ukraine and NATO. “The battle for Donbass will remind you of the Second World War,” said Kuleba. Kuleba urges all NATO allies to send as much heavy equipment to Ukraine to battle Russia in Donbass. Biden thinks that if Ukraine can beat back Russia in Donbass, Putin will be forced to resign in disgrace, opening the doors to more democratic reforms in Russia, or that’s how the State Department narrative goes.

When you size up the Ukraine War, you have the war run by Biden out of the White House with NATO now providing Zelensky some heavy equipment to battle the Russian Federation. If Putin gets desperate in Donbass, it’s possible he could lash out with tactical nuclear weapons, something that would lead to WW III. Biden has funded a proxy war in Ukraine to battle the Russian Federation with the aim of deposing Putin. “Now is no time for complacency,” Biden said, accusing Putin of “horrific acts of brutality.” Neither Biden nor Zelensky want any part of the Istanbul ceasefire talks because the new mission in Ukraine is not sovereignty and territorial integrity, it’s about getting rid of Putin. NATO seems all in on letting Biden prosecute his proxy war against the Russian Federation, hoping to end Putin’s reign in power. If the U.S. and NATO lose Donbass, it will be an undeniable embarrassment.
