Confirming today the Russian Federation considers the U.S. and adversary, 78-year-old President Joe Biden and 58-year-old Secretary of State Tony Blinken have destroyed the longstanding diplomatic relationship between two of the world’s two most power superpowers. Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Rybakov warned the U.S. of sending its navy near Crimea or anywhere near the Black Sea. U.S. warships should stay away “for their own good.” “The United States is our adversary and does everything it can to undermine Russia’s position on the world stage,” Rybakov said. What a difference 100 days of the Biden administration has made to alienating Russia and China, both were viewed historically as strategic partners in maintaining the peace. Calling Russian President Vladimir Putin as “soulless killer” March 16, Biden proved that he’s cognitively impaired, not fit for duty.
When you think Biden and Blinken are pushing the world dangerously close to war with Russia and China, you’d think the U.S. and foreign press would be paying attention. But nowhere in the U.S. or foreign press have their been anything but support for Biden’s approach of alienation Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. “We do not see any other elements in their approach. Those are our conclusions,” Rybakov said. Meeting at NATO headquarters today in Brussels, Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, Blinken and Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said they all stood against Russian aggression along the border in eastern Ukraine. Blinken said Russia’s military buildup was “very provocative,” calling it “unjustified, unexplained and deeply concerning.” Blinken’s rhetoric has practically driven the U.S. and Russia to armed conflict.
Now that Blinken knows that Russia considers the U.S. an “adversary,” the Biden administration has flipped U.S. foreign policy on its head, pushing confrontation with Russia to loggerheads. Ukraine’s 43-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky has also pushed the U.S. and NATO into a military confrontation with Russia, knowing Ukraine can’t defend itself against the Russian Federation. In reality, NATO is not in any position to take on the Russian Federation even with U.S. help. “The U.S. stands firmly behind the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine,” Blinken told Kuleba at a meeting with the U.S. Belgium ambassador. Blinken’s taken the exact opposite track needed to defuse what’s shaping up to be a dangerous confrontation. When Ryakov tells the U.S. to stay away from Crimea and the Black Sea, he’s saying the U.S. is now viewed as enemy combatants.
Blinken can spend all the time he wants talking nonsense to the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, knowing that NATO and the U.S. are not prepared to go to war to support what’s left of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Things haven’t changed that much from March 1, 2014 when Putin decided to invade and annex the Crimean Peninsula. Zelensky knows that Putin watched while hosting the Sochi Winter Olympics a Feb. 22, 2014 CIA-backed coup that toppled the Kremlin-backed Kiev government of Viktor Yanukovych. Putin doesn’t want to see another U.S.-backed coup in Ukraine and has taken defensive actions along the Ukraine-Russian border. “In this struggle, the support of the United States is absolutely crucial and deeply appreciated,” said Kuleba, acting like Ukraine has become a territory of the U.S. Ukraine should not be talking about the U.S. military as its proxy forces.
Biden and Blinken have turned amicable relations with Russia and China into dangerous adversaries in only 100 days. “We warn the United States that it will be better for them to stay far away from Crimea and our Black Sea coast. It will be for there own good,” Rybakov said, putting the U.S. on notice that it’s no longer seen as a strategic partner but an adversary. Ukraine’s President and Foreign Minister have done much damage to their cause, trying to use the U.S. and NATO to defend Ukrainian border in the event of a Russian invasion. NATO’s Stoltengerg gave his “unwavering” support to Ukraine. ”NATO stands with Ukraine,” Sotoltenberg said. “Russia must end this military buildup in and around Ukraine, stop it’s provocations and de-escalate immediately,” Stoltenberg said. Yet so far, there’s no offer of NATO membership in the last seven years.
Stoltenberg was asked about Ukraine joining NATO, a red line for Putin, potentially triggering Russian annexation of the Donbass area of eastern Ukraine. Russia sees any attempt by Ukraine to join NATO as an intolerable threat to Russia’s status quo, especially in the Russian-speaking Donbass region. Stoltenberg said that NATO membership is decided by NATO members, something that hasn’t happened for Kiev since Putin annexed Crimea March 1, 2014. Blinken gave Kuleba the impression that the U.S. military would defend Urkaine’s border from a Russian invasion. When asked about Ukraines’s NATO membership, Stoltensberg said any nation has a right to apply but NATO members determine who joins the Western Allinace. Judging by the seven years since Russia invaded Crimea, it’s obvious that NATO does not want to take on Ukraine’s armed conflict with Russia.
