Showing that vendettas rule the day in Washington, 54-year-old Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.) said she would vote with Democrats to impeach 74-year-old President Donald Trump. Trump has been very critical of Cheney, calling her weak and threatening to back an alternative candidate to Cheney’s reelection. Liz never liked Trump for his criticism of her 79-year-old father, former Vice President Dick Cheney. Trump slammed former President George W. Bus and Cheney for starting the Iraq War, costing the U.S. Treasury $5 trillion and 4,507 dead. Trump ripped Bush and Cheney for the Iraq War, something he called the biggest mistake in U.S. history. Neither Cheney nor the Bush families have any regard for Trump. Liz Cheney blames Trump for orchestrating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot that resulted in five deaths and 69 arrests, with 13 charged so far with violent entry and defacing government property.
Cheney’s all in on 80-year-old House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) articles of impeachment charging Trump with “incitement of insurrection,” for planning and orchestrating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. “The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack,” Cheney wrote. Cheney knows that Trump never did any such thing. He delivered a speech before a few bad apples who stormed the Capitol and defaced government property. There’s zero evidence that Trump had anything to do with encouraging, planning or implementing the Jan. 6 intrusion into the Capitol. “Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President . . “ Cheney insisted, knowing that her accusations could never hold up in any court. Video of Trump’s Jan. 6 speech is on YouTube mentions nothing about storming the Capitol.
Cheney’s hysterical statements mirror Democrats’ mood on Capitol Hill, where they have a lynch-mob mentality, looking to string Trump up when he had little to do with the Jan. 6 melee. When you consider that Trump spoke to around 1 million backers and only about 1,000 were stupid enough to storm the Capital and deface government property, it’s only one-tenth-of-one-percent of his Washington crowd. Trump’s was in no position to stop bad apples that spent time planning to storm the Capitol or commit any other crimes. “The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not. There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution,” Cheney said with more hyperbole. How’s Trump supposed to stop a riot or an unruly mob once they go ballistic and commit multiple felonies?
Cheney’s argument shows that she and Democrats don’t care about reality, only want to blame Trump for everything. Funny how Cheney never said a word for four months over the summer while left-wing extremists rioted, looted, burned and trashed American cities over the 2020 summer. Democrats and the media, including 78-year-old President-elect Joe Biden and 56-year-old Vice President-elect Kamala Harris said nothing while so-called peaceful protesters burnt American cities to the ground. No one said complicit elected-officials should be charged with treason for not calling off the dogs over last summer. “I will vote to impeach the President,” Cheney said, not admitting that Trump never told any of his supporters to storm the Capitol or commit any crime. Yet Cheney says Trump was totally in charge of the unruly mob. Were Democrats in control of the Angry mobs over the summer?
If Cheney or Pelosi bothered to watch Trump’s Jan. 6 speech, she’d know he didn’t encourage anyone to storm the Capitol or commit crimes. It doesn’t matter to Cheney or Democrats, only taking this opportunity to pile on Trump now that he’s lost the 2020 election. “It cannot be ignore that President Trump encouraged this insurrection—both on social media ahead of January 6th, and in his speech that day,” Cheney insisted. Trump encouraged his supporters to stand up for their rights, including the right to protest the outcome of the Nov. 3 election because of possible voting irregularities. Democrats and the media expect all 75 million of Trump’s supporters to just accept that Nov. 3 election results, because they say it was a fair election. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Oho) was hammered today by Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) to admit that the election was “fair and legitimate.”
Rep. Liz Cheney’s decision to vote for impeachment stems from her longstanding vendetta with Trump for criticizing her father, former Vice President Dick Cheney. “To allow the President of the United States to incite this attack without consequences is a direct threat to the future of our democracy. For that reason, I cannot sit by without taking action. I will vote to impeach this president.” Cheney, like the Democrats, wants to impeach Trump not for the Capitol Hill riot but for the honest appraisal of his father’s failure as Vice President. Cheney knows that Trump never ordered or suggested that anyone storm the Capitol or deface public property. Calling the Jan. 6 riot an “insurrection” is preposterous, knowing that it was not an armed rebellion but an angry mob of misfits that let group-think get the better of them. Trump asked no one to storm the Capitol or commit any crimes.
