Charlie Kirk’s assassin 22-year-old Tyler Robinson was involved with a transsexual accounting for at least some of the motive for why he “took Kirk out,” at least according to a text message to his partner before he shot Kirk with a high-powered, scoped deer-hunting rifle. Robinson was apparently angry at Kirk’s harsh rhetoric toward transsexuals, saying he could no longer accept such hate speech, getting his chance to do something about it when he found out that Kirk would speak in Orem, Utaha, at Utah Valley University. Investigators looking through Robinson’apartment found a note underneath his keyboard. “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it,” the note said according to court documents. Prosecutors are building an airtight case filled with personal notes, texts and DNA evidence on the murder weapon’s trigger.
Getting Robinson to peacefully surrender to the Orem Sheriff wasn’t easy but eventually he turned himself in within 24 hours. “He knew it was inevitable that he would be caught, said Sheriff Brooksby. “If at the end of the day we accomplish him surrendering peacefully on his own, I going to make some concessions to make that happen,” Robinson actually apologized to his boyfriend after admitting. His partner asked him whether or not he was the shooter. “I am sorry,” Robinson admitted. Law enforcement hasn’t ruled out that others knew about Robinson’s plan, including his boyfriend. Whether that yields any fruit is anyone’s guess. What’s known for sure based on all the facts in evidence is that Robinson was angry because of Kirks’s known views on transsexuals. Law enforcement wants to know why Robinson’s partner never went to the police with all his information.
When it comes to Robinson’s motive, it’s clear that he had hostility toward Kirk for his views on transsexuals. ”I had enough of his hatred,” Robinson said. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” meaning, he couldn’t be reasoned with and had to be eliminated. Regardless of the specific motive, it’s clear that Robininson had an obsession or fixation on Kirk, much the same as New York City assassin Luigi Mangione obessed over taking out United Health Care CEO Brian Thomson. Certain obsessions can’t be satisfied unless perpetrators carry out their sick plots. Whether Robinson got any relief to his obsession after murdering Charlie Kirk is anyone’s guess. What’s known for sure is that his sick mind was plagued by an obsession with Charlie Kirk. Going through all the premeditation certainly cast a different view on Robinson’s form of mental illness.
Utah Gov. Spencer Cox vowed that prosecutors would seek the death penalty based on the political nature of the assassination. But if Robinson was emotionally offended by Kirk’s views on transsexuals, it could be a mitigating circumstance ruling against the death penalty. When you add to that that Robinson was only 22-years-of-age, it makes you wonder about the degree of maturity needed to commit such an atrocious act. Clearly some see Robinson’s premeditation as plenty to qualify for the death penalty but views on that are changing even in conservative states like Utah. Robinson’s mother told police that their son had turned left politically in the last year, meaning he had more sympathy for gay and transgender rights, mainly because he was involved with a transgender male transitioning to female. Going over the deep end tells a different kind of story.
Holding views on the transgender population doesn’t lead to assassination in the vast number of the population. Getting involved with a transgender male showed that Tyler might have had some of his own sexual identity issues, though that hasn’t be stressed. To dislike someone enough because of their transgender views to plot their assassination involves more than just simple hatred but involves a disturbed personality, something that hasn’t come out in any reports from past friends or classmates. Why there’s been no testimony from past acquaintances of Tyler’s is anyone’s guess. Saying that his views turned radical left doesn’t account for how someone could be transformed into a political assassin. Investigators have no information that Tyler was aided-and-abetted by any other people or groups. It looks like he acted alone, keeping his plot a secret to all.
Utah prosecutors have everything they need to convict Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson with First Degree Murder with special circumstances to ask for the death penalty. Given that he’s 22-years-of-age, does the state really believe it’s in the best interest of justice to execute a 22-year-old? Whatever Robinson’s issues with Kirk’s transgender view, it’s clear that Robinson became obsessed with stop Kirk from expressing his views on transgender issues. Whether police consider that enough of a motive or not, it’s clear that Robinson, like Luigi Mangione, went over the deep end, taking vigilante justice too seriously. Now that Robinson faced the full weight of the law, it’s possible he’ll realize what he’s done. Robinson needs to sit in solitary confinement to figure out the consequences of his actions. Police should have him on a 24-houor suicide watch.
