LOS ANGELES (OC).–Greeting each other warmly at Join Bas Elemendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, Alaska, 79-year Donald Trump and 72-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin showed why they’re despised by Democrats and the fake news. Trump and Putin have real admiration for each other, not the fake narcissism claimed in the press, a genuine like as leaders of their respective countries. Both leaders know that they hold the key of peace-and-prosperity, with Trump seeking to end the war to stop the bloodshed and return Russia to the mainstream of economic power leading the world. As they rode to their summit in the same limousine, Putin and Trump may not speak the same language but their respect for each other transcends what gets lost in translation by the fake news. When you consider all the harassment Trump went through with all the fake allegations of collusion, it’s remarkable.
Putin knows all about what Trump was put through by Democrats and the fake news with all the accusations by Democrats about Russian collusion. How ironic that it all started with former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton whose paid opposition in the 2016 AKA “The Steele Dosser” fabricated baseless charges about Trump tied to the Kremlin. It took years for Trump to be vindicated of Russian collusion, only to find the Democrat Party establishement, the so-called deep state, to prosecute him for more fabricated charges. Putin knows what Trump lived through for all those years with Democrats literally trying to lock him up. Somehow Trump survived it all, now is president of the United States and meeting with Putin to try to end the bloody and costly Ukraine War. Trump and Putin meet at a crucial time for the world, needing to get beyond Ukraine.
Putin’s Feb. 24, 2022 invasion would not have happened, as Trump says, if he were president in 2022. Trump would have never allowed the U.S. to arm Ukraine without restraint over Kremlin objections. When Putin asked Biden for months to discuss new security arrangements for Ukraine, he ignored him. Putin told Biden that if they couldn’t discuss new security arrangements, he would implement a “special military operation” to demilitarize Ukraine. Biden called Putin’s invasion “unprovoked and unjustified.” Well, if you were in Putin’s shoes at the time, he certainly thought it was provoked and justified. Watching Trump get into the limo together shows everything they’ve been through over the last several years. What are Democrats and the fake news going to make up about Trump now? He’s the only one on the planet to deliver peace in Ukraine.
All the fake news can say about the summit is why was Ukraine’s 47-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensly was left out of the meeting. Well, the purpose of the meeting was not to divvy up Ukraine sovereign territory, it was to get a temporary ceasefire so both parties can work on a peace deal. Yet if you listen to Zelensky and some European Union officials, it’s about Zelensky getting left out. EU officials have zero clout with Putin. Only Trump has the rapport and mutual interests to get a deal done, both have something to prove. To all of Trump critics, he’s putting his neck on the line to get a peace deal in Ukraine. All Zelensky does is complain about what he’s not getting, how he’s getting short-changed. No one in the EU can get Zelensky anything other than more death and destruction in Ukraine. Only Trump has the charisma and influence to get a deal done with Putin.
If Trump thought this was just a “feel out meeting,” he wouldn’t have scheduled it. More than likely Trump and Putin will agree to a temporary halt to the air war in Ukraine, giving both sides the chance to plan future meetings to deal with the sticking points of a deal. Trump irked Zelensky talking about land “swaps,” something Zelensky denies he would do. If Trump and Putin agree on a ceasefire, it will put pressure on Zelensky and his backers in the EU to get real about what it takes to end the war. Former President Ronald Reagan once said “peace is the highest aspiration of the American people . . . “ saying the country would sacrifice for it but never surrender for it. Trump and Putin both have vested interests in peace, especially Putin who’s economic sanctions from the U.S. and EU have hurt the Russian economy. Trump promises Putin more prosperity.
Whatever attacks are ongoing in Ukraine, once Putin decides to accept a temporary ceasefire, the air war will stop on a dime. Whether an air war halt the ground offensive on the 600-mile battle line is anyone’s guess. Putin has captured over three-and-a-half years of war some 25% of Ukraine’s best sovereign territory on the BlackSea coast. Zelensky keeps asking the EU for more cash-and-arms, thinking that somehow that changes the outcome. Trump told Zelensky in the Oval Office Feb. 28 that he should cut his losses, starting rebuilding and end the war. Zelensky threw a fit, largely because he knew Trump was seeking normal U.S.-Russian relations, something he just can’t fathom. Former President Joe Biden made Russia a mortal enemy. Trump looks to change all of that, refusing to back a proxy war policy with the Kremlin. Putin know he can trust Trump.
