LOS ANGELES.–President Donald Trump showed the fake news that he won’t get sucked into their questions about whether the U.S. would intervene directly in Iran. Asked whether or not he would authorize B-2 Stealth Bomber strikes on Iran’s underground Fordo nuclear enrichment site, Trump gave the exact right answer. “I may do it, I may not do it,” Trump told the White House press corps. Does anyone think that Democrats’ claims of Trump dementia are valid, given his highly crafted statement to the press? “I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do,” emphasizing that it’s not too late for Iran to come back to the table. Trump knows his cards with Iran and with the press, trying to get him to reveal Top Secret plans to prove that he’s not fit to remain as president. Anyone that follows Trump knows that he’s playing with a full deck, completely in control of the economy and foreign policy.
Iran’s 86-year-old Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei isn’t in his right state of mind making threats to the U.S. Khamenei said Trump’s intervention would “result in irreparable harm to them,” vowing his country would never surrender. Trump said on Truth Social that Iran should agree to unconditional surrender, something the Ayatollah promptly dismissed. But with Iran decimated daily by Israeli air strikes, the Ayatollah doesn’t have a lot of time left before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu leaves Iran defenseless. Every day that goes by, Iran loses more of its defenses and missile-making capability. “I say good luck,” Trump said to the Ayatollah still talking tough about “irreparable harm” to the United States. Washington has no diplomatic relations with Tehran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution where Iran seized the U.S. embassy and took 54 hostages.
Whether admitted or not, there’s still bad blood between the U.S. and Iran, after Iranian revolutionaries seized the U.S. embassy in 1979. So, when it comes to Trump helping a key ally Israel, he’s inclined to do it knowing all the moving parts, especially in international diplomacy. If Iran agrees to go back to the table on a new nuke deal, there’s no reason for Trump to intervene militarily in Iran. He’s already assisted Israel in shooting down Iran’s incoming missiles and drones, using the U.S. navy to assist Israel. When it comes to deploying B-2 Stealth Bombers to drop a GBU/57 bunker-busting bomb on Iran’s underground Fordo nuke site, it might not be necessary, watching Trump tell the press it could happen or it could not happen. When it comes to the Aytatollah himself, Trump says he’s an easy target, though no decision has been made by the U.S. or Israel to take him out.
Trump said he’s been contacted by Iranian officials, most like Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, to go back to the table to negotiate a new nuke deal. Trump said Iran is “getting the hell beaten out of them,” saying there’s a “big difference between now and week ago,” referring to Iran’s willingness to strike a deal. Savvy leaders like Araghchi know that every day that the war continue, Iran loses its defense capability, leaving it vulnerable to internal and external threats. “They’ve suggested that they come to the White House—that’s you know, courageous, Trump said. “No Iranian official has ever asked to grovel at the gates of the White House. The only thing more despicable that his lies in his cowardly threat to ‘take out Iran’s Supreme Leader,’” said Iran’s U.N. mission. Trump has been getting mixed signals from the Kremlin, telling him to refrain from attacking Iran.
Russia receives Iranian-made Shahed 136 drones from Iran to help its war with Ukraine. So, Moscow sees Iran as an ally in its battle with Ukraine. Russian warned Trump to avoid a nuclear catastrophe that could result from an attack on Iran’s underground Fordo nuclear site. “We are warning Washington against even speculate, hypothetical considerations of the sort,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Rybakov. “That would be a step drastically destabilizing the situation as a whole,” Rybakov said. Fake news have been quick to cite former strategist Steve Bannon, who has no role in Trump’s White House. Why the fake news cites Bannon is anyone’s guess just like they do former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. Bannon and Carslon are considered MAGA Republican who feel betrayed by Trump considering to intervene in potentially another foreign war.
Trump should hold off on calling in a B-2 Stealth Bomber strike, if, for no other reason, it may not be necessary to achieve Israel’s goal of neutralizing Iran’s nuclear enrichment program. Trump’s Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard testified that she finds no evidence that Iran has an active A-bomb program. Trump let Gabbard know that whatever he chooses to do in Iran, it’s not her call. Gabbard and other anti-war isolationists feel betrayed by Trump considering intervening for Israel. Fake news immediate hyped the story of a rebellion in MAGA land, something so foolish it doesn’t bear discussing. Trump must do what’s in the best interest of U.S. foreign policy and national security. If it involves helping Israel or not, the call is entirely Trump’s to make. MAGA world has nowhere else to go but back to Trump who ultimately calls the shots.
