LOS ANGELES.–Former U.N. Amb. Nikki Haley (R-S.C.) continues to slam 78-year-old President Donald Trump saying it was an insult to our European allies for Trump to talk to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Haley, who served as Trump’s U.N. Amb. in his first term, has no grasp of U.S. foreign policy, especially of Trump’s attempts to restore normal diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation. Former President Joe Biden’s proxy war with the Kremlin turned the U.S. from cooperative global partner to mortal enemy. Under Biden, 72-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin viewed the U.S. and NATO has as enemy of the Russian state. Haley ripped Trump for saying Putin should play a role in negotiating a new nuke deal with Iran before it leads to war with the U.S. or Israel. If Putin is again a global partner, what’s wrong with Putin helping out on Iran?
Haley was the last of the 2024 GOP presidential candidates to drop out of the race, not because she won any delegates in primaries but because she was put up to run by the anti-Trump crowd, putting up futile resistance to the bitter end. Haley eventually dropped out after she was crushed by Trump in the South Carolina primary, actually waiting until Super Tuesday before making it official. Haley had no real following only doing the bidding of Never Trumpers led by the so-called Lincoln Project. “Russia has been receiving drones and ballistic missiles from Iran to use in its kidnapping of Ukraine,” Haley wrote on her X account. Well, Ukraine receives drones and ballistic missiles from the U.S. and NATO, so what’s the difference if Putin gets military help from Iran or North Korea? Ukraine’s war has morphed into a WW I-style trench warfare with no end in sight.
Haley knows that Trump has spearheaded peace efforts despite resistance coming largely from Ukraine and the European Union. Objections to a peace deal from the EU stem largely from unfounded fears from certain members like the Baltic States and Poland, that Putin’s next adventure into Europe could be former Soviet satellites. “Iran and Russia are partners,” Haley continued. “It’s ludicrous to think we would allow Putin to be chief negotiator between the U.S. and Iran on the Iran deal in exchange for the U.S. helping Russia with Ukraine,” Haley said. Haley was a big Neocon backer of Biden’s proxy war with the Kremlin that ended decades of diplomacy, détente, arms control and global cooperation. Haley’s in the anti-Russia, anti-Putin mindset about everything, not realizing how Biden’s proxy war strategy damaged U.S. foreign policy and national security.
Haley says it’s an insult to our EU allies for Trump to reach any kind of deal with Putin. “That is a backhanded slap to all our allies,” Haley said, referring to Trump working on a peace deal with Putin without EU allies. Zelensky has partnered up with the EU to sabotage Trump’s peace efforts, smearing Trump at the Munich Security Conference, telling EU leaders that Trump isn’t concerned about European Security. Trump wants to stop a war on the European Continent from spreading to WW III or nuclear war. Ukraine’s 47-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky tells the EU that Putin looks to take over more European territory once he wins the Ukraine War. EU officials like 69-year-old German Chancellor Friedrich Merz buys Zelensky’s argument about Putin taking more EU territory. Putin has never said he wants to conquer more EU territory.
So, when it comes to the EU, led by French President Emmanuel Macron and Merz, plus U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, they all back Zelensky’s arguments to keep the war going. Brussels only has one problem with Zelensky’s plan: Who’s going to pay for it? Zelensky wants the EU to take over fund proxy war with the Kremlin, now that Trump decided to restore normal diplomatic relations with the Kremlin. EU officials, especially Merz, hasn’t figured out how Brussels would pay for Zelensky’s ongoing proxy war. Haley thinks the EU has acted like a ally of the United States. Trump knows otherwise, with Zelensky and the EU sabotaging his peace efforts with Putin. Putin and Trump were close to deal to end the Ukraine War. Zelensky convinced the EU that he cannot surrender any sovereign territory to Russia, even though he lost it in three years of war.
Haley has nothing but sour grapes after getting trounced by Trump in the 2024 GOP primaries. She stayed in the race only because she had the backing of the GOP’s Never Trumpers like conservative pundit William Kristol or former Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Ut.). “President Putin suggested that he will participate in the discussions with Iran and that he could, perhaps, be helpful in getting this brought to a rapid conclusion,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It is my opinion that Iran has been slow-walking their decision on this very important matter, and we will need a definitive answer in a very short period of time,” Haley said. Haley is so far out of the loop that she should refrain from hazarding her opinions. Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, chief architect of the Iraq War, also slams Trump for dealing with Putin. Rice and Haley like to give their uninformed opinions if anyone listens. Both have big egos but no knowledge of current events.
