LOS ANGELES.–CNN journalist Jake Tapper, 56, finds out what it’s like to be on the outs, now accused of disloyalty by Democrats and the anti-Trump journalist community. Tapper said it’s been a “humbling experience,” watching the reactions of former White House officials and journalists expressing no remorse for covering-up former President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline that actually put U.S. national security in jeopardy, certainly for the last two years in office. Biden opted to join 47-year-old old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s war with the Kremlin, ending decades of diplomacy, détente, arms control and global cooperation with the Russian Federation. Biden tossed that all into the dustbin to fund proxy war with the Kremlin, unilaterally ending U.S.-Russian relations, so vital to post WW II peace and stability. All those decisions were made with Biden’s cognitive challenges.
“We never got somebody that said, ‘well should never have done this. I can’t believe we did it. In retrospect, it was a mistake. How arrogant we were,’ Tapper told Stephen A. Smith, the nation’s most highly paid sports journalist now dabbling in politics. Smith pointed out to Tapper that he was one of Biden’s apologists for years, only now admitting something egregious took place in 2024. Well when Tapper was well on in his CNN career what did he think during 78-year-old President Donald Trump’s first run for the White House in 2016 when he was investigated by the FBI for alleged ties to the Kremlin. Tapper covered plenty of stories of Trump ‘s alleged ties to Russia, without questioning the sources. It took former FBI Director Robert Mueller 22-months, $40 million to acquit Trump of any inappropriate contact with the Russian Federation.
Yet for years after Mueller acquitted Trump, Tapper was still reporting fake news from Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) insisting he still had proof that Trump colluded with the Kremlin to win the 2016 presidential election. So Tapper is no stranger reporting fake news all because Democrats want to discredit Trump. Acting in disbelief over Democrat responses to the cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline should come as no surprise. Tapper should ask himself why the New York Times Maggie Habberman, a frequent CNN pundit, never apologized for writing stories about Trump’s alleged ties to Moscow. Why didn’t tapper go after his CNN colleagues for still reporting on Trump collusion with Russia? CNN reported fakes stories about Trump because they wanted to harm him politically, just like today when they say Trump is destroying Amreican democracy deporting illegal immigrants.
Covering the Biden cover-up in the 2024 election, Tapper misses the many cover-ups of malicious prosecution happening at the Biden Justice Department under former Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland. While the allegations against Trump in the 2016 campaign eventually blew over, the government in 2024 actually went after Trump with a flurry of criminal cases hoping to derail Trump’s 2024 campaign. What’s more egregious in the scheme of things, making up fake stories about Trump’s alleged ties to the Kremlin or using the Justice Department to charge Trump with actual crimes? Former Special Counsel Jack Smith said that Trump obstructed a government proceeding Jan. 6, 2021. Did Smith have any facts that Trump ordered the mob to vandalize the Capitol? Smith had no probable cause only fabricated evidence by the corrupt Jan. 6 House Select Committee.
So, when it comes to cherry-picking news stories, Tapper focused on the media’s cover-up of Biden’s cognitive decline. But when you look at all the reporting on Tapper’s show about Jan. 6 or classified documents found in a Mar-a-Lago basement, Tapper was all in on accusing Trump of committing multiple felonies. When Trump was convicted in Manhattan court of business fraud because of paying off Stormy Daniels May 30, 2024, Tapper reported on Trump’s 34 felony convictions night-and-day. Where was Tapper questioning a kangaroo court trial by Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg, who ran his campaign on a promise to charge Trump with various crimes. Tapper never questioned anything other than reporting for posterity Trump’s conviction so Democrats could call him a convicted felon. Where was Tapper questioning the fairness of Trump’s trial and conviction?
Tapper can act flabbergasted about White House and the Democrat-controlled press covering up for Joe Biden. But if Tapper is honest with himself, he’s just as guilty of the rest for cherry-picking the stories he wants to cover, especially the fake Russiagate stories and, in 2024, all the fake charges against Trump. Tapper would have been better off covering a wide variety of cover-ups rather than focusing only on Biden. Biden’s story is like beating a dead horse at this point but Tapper would have been more intellectually honest talking about the liberal pressure in today’s journalism, forcing journalists to push a Democrat agenda. When you think of how Tapper and his colleagues covered Kamala Harris in the 2024 campaign, they gave her a pass on almost everything, including her mangled speeches and rare press events. Tapper is no longer trusted in his liberal media quagmire.
