LOS ANGELES.–Democrats in the media and Capitol Hill are trying to make amends with the American people over the obvious cover-up of former President Joe Biden’s cognitive impairments that should have prohibited him from running for president in 2024. CNN, a pro-Democrat and pro-Biden network, betrayed its leftist creed letting its hosts like Jake Tapper and Abby Phillip denounce the media and White House cover-up of Biden’s age-related cognitive decline. Speaking about former Special Counsel Robert Hur’s Feb. 8, 2024 final report on her CNN show, Phillip said Hur “undersold” Joe’s memory impairments. Yet the White House engaged in a fierce defense going so far as saying Hur breached every ethical principle for a Special Counsel commenting on extraneous matter related to Biden’s mental state. Philip, another CNN host, tries to perform damage control.
Damage control is often disguised so it doesn’t look obvious when media organization and others try to stand down or disown past positions. CNN was one of Biden’s biggest defenders in the 2024 race, preferring to let him run after winning the Democrat primaries. “In a way, Robert Hur kind of undersold this,” Phillip said. “ He kind of threw Je Biden a lifeline. It was an opportunity, actually, for Democrats to take it seriously, may change gears at that point, maybe give a potential nominee more time,” Phillip said. Phillip’s contention is an absurd distorting of Hur’s job to get out the facts in his final report to let the public know why he was not chargin Biden for harboring classified documents, while, at the same time, watching former President Donald Trump charged with multiple felonies. Phillip engages in damage control for CNN, making a whole lot of excuses.
Phillip’s premise continues the CNN cover-up of their role it and other liberal news outlets played in covering-up Biden’s cognitive impairments. Phillip’s colleague Jake Tapper co-authored a recently released book, “Original Sin,” the White House and media cover-up of Biden’s cognitive impairments. Phillip hopes in her comments to blame Hur for minimizing Joe’s memory impairments, giving him a way out as he ran for president. Phillip can’t believe that Hur was doing Democrats as favor by giving them the opportunity to denounce a sitting president, something that eventually happened July 21, 2024 when Biden dropped out. Biden spent nearly a month wrangling with Democrats Party bosses about staying in the race with former President Barack Obama and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) twisting his arm to get out of the race.
Many Democrats blame Biden’s resistance to exiting the 2024 race as shortening the runway for former Vice President Kamala Harris. Whether admitted to or not, more time would have made things worse for Kamala, as voters grew tired of her undying loyalty to Biden. When Kamala told ABC’s “The View” that there’s nothing she would have done differently over the last four years, voters had enough looking for a change in 2024. For Phillip to suggest that Hur gave Democrats and the press a chance to get the Biden disability story right is utterly preposterous. Hur simply did his job in describing why he couldn’t move forward with charging Biden. Calling Biden “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” was an outrage to all Democrats and media outlets at the time. Democrats and the fake news called Biden’s memory impairments a right wing conspiracy.
CNN is busy making more excuses why its network worked feverishly to cover-up Biden’s cognitive decline and now, in full damage control mode, wants to disown its past corrupt reporting. Calling statements from Hur and other Republicans a GOP conspiracy, Democrats and the fake news did everything possible to cover-up Joe’s declining cognitive health. Now CNN does everything to make up for past misdeeds that are causing harm to Democrats and the press. After the 2024 election, it’s clear the public no longer trusts the mainstream media as anything more than a Democrat political operation. Voters got sick of the fake news pushing the Kamala campaign regardless of all the problems seen since the June 27, 2024 presidential debate that exposed for all to see Joe’s cognitive decline. Now that all stops because of Joe’s stunning announcement about Stage 4 prostate cancer.
Democrats and the press have a real credibility problem going into the 2026 Midterm elections. Democrats pretend that they’ve changed their stripes, suddenly reporting nonpartisan news, when, in fact, it’s just as pro-Democrat as ever. Phillips comment about Hur is presposterous that he gave Democrats a way to come clean. Hur could care less about politically biased news outlets like CNN or the New York Times. He wanted only to get the facts out why he decided to not prosecute Biden for harboring classified documents. CNN hosts like Jake Tapper have a real problem now talking about Biden, the White House and fake news cover-up in the 2024 campaign, now that Joe revealed in cancer diagnosis. How can Tapper keep slamming Joe when he may not be around too much longer? Tapper has only a downside continuing to expose the cover-up.
