LOS ANGELES.–Democrats and the press jumped the gun, slamming the recent Commerce Department report that the economy shrank by 0.3% in the first quarter. President Donald Trump, 78, took over from former President Joe Biden Jan. 20, so whatever contraction happened in the economy it’s not only due to Trump’s tariff policies. When you look at the performance of the stock market over the last seven sessions, Wall Street has bounced back some 10% of its March lows. Ending today at 41,317, the Dow Jones Industrials in only 3,700 points down from its Dec. 4, 2024 record high of 45,073. So when Democrats say the market have tanked under Trump, it’s only 3,700 lower than a record high. “Access to cheap goods is not the essence of the American Dream,” said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Democrats and the press want the public to think Trump has driven up prices.
Trump said April 30 on ABC News that grocery prices have actually come down since he took office. But if you listen to the Democrat and fake news narrative, prices have rocketed upward, all because partisan economists claim that Trump’s tariff war is pushing prices up. Instead of waiting to see how Trump’s economic program turns things around, the Democrat-drive press slam him for wrecking the economy. While they say Wall Street is in freefall, they don’t mention the last seven sessions where all major averages have increased about 10% from their March lows. Trump can’t control when Wall Street decides to sell off when price-to-earnings ratios get too high. Yet if you listen to Democrat pundits, it’s all Trump’s fault what has happened to the economy. Tinkering with the massive U.S. trade deficit was bound to make some waves in the economy.
Democrats and the press want the public to think the economy is tanking under Trump. If the Federal Reserve Board felt that the economy was unraveling, they would urgently lower interest rates, knowing that slow growth would continue to deteriorate. “This is Biden’s StockMarket, not Trump’s I didn’t take over until Jan. 20th,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. Trump wants to public to show patience while he corrects the damage done to the economy under the Biden administration. Once the tariffs kick in, or trade deals are renegotiated, the economy will bounce back. Watching Wall Street rise the last seven sessions shows that it’s growing use to Trump’s economic policies. No one tells Wall Street when its time to take profits or correct the markets, certainly not Trump. Yet Democrats and the fake news blame Trump for any sell-off on Wall Street.
American news consumers know that they cannot trust the fake news, looking only to reporting negative things about Trump economy or foreign policy. Why the fake news has opposed Trump’s push for peace in Ukraine is anyone’s guess. They want to continue the Biden policy of funding proxy war with the Russian Federation, knowing Biden’s Russian oil embargo created the worst inflation in 40 years. Once Biden banned all Russian oil, gas prices went through the roof but so did the cost of shipping, whether by truck, rail or air. Biden couldn’t grasp that his Russian oil embargo damaged the U.S. and world economy. If Trump ends the Ukraine War, he’ll end the Russian oil embargo, bringing down energy prices in the U.S. and overseas. Democrats and the fake news keep saying that Trump tariffs will cause prices to rise but, more importantly, will create widespread scarcity.
Democrats want to hold Trump’s feet to the fire on his campaign promise of lowering consumer prices. Despite a rough patch with the initial tariff roll out, the economy has begun to adjust to new tariffs. Fake news polls like CNN show 59% of their respondents say the economy has gotten worse under Trump. Well, if liberal media outlets hammer Trump daily about the economy, it’s only a matter of time before their respondents agree with them. Democrats blame Kamala’s loss to Trump Nov. 5, 2024 over the fact they believed he knew what was best for the U.S. economy. If Trump is only given 100 days to make his economy work, it’s certainly a shortsighted approach to the economy. ABC’s Terry Moran tried to blame Trump for the poor showing of the U.S. economy, saying that voters had buyers’ remorse. Moran showed he was as biased as anyone from ABC News.
Democrats and the press continue the same campaign against Trump as they did in the 2024 presidential election. Instead of praising Trump for sealing the porous U.S. border, Democrats and the press say Trump violates the Consitutonal and due process rights of illegal aliens. So, when Kamala was asked whether she though Trump was a fascist, she said, “yes.” Today’s press hasn’t let up one bit from the 2024 campaign accusing Trump of trying to destroy American democracy. “People are worried, even some people who voted for you saying, ‘I didn’t sign up for this,’” Moran told Trump in his ABC News interview. “Well they did sign up for it, actually,” Trump said. “And this is what I campaign on,” Trump said, referring to applying tariffs on U.S. trading partners taking advantage of the U.S. Democrats and the fake news are good for propaganda, but nothing else.
