LOS ANGELES.–Showing that he’s not fit as a head of state, 47-year-old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cracked under the pressure arguing with 78-year-old President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance over demands for more U.S. security. Trump was prepared to sign a rare earth mineral deal with Zelensky, assuring U.S. presence in Ukraine for years to come. But the meeting deteriorated quickly when Zelensky couldn’t control his rage against 72-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin but, more importantly, over the fact that Trump has taken U.S. foreign policy in a new direction after Biden’s four years of warmongering. Zelensky hoped that Trump would continue the Biden policy of giving Ukraine a blank check to pay Kiev’s bills and fund the war. Zelensky was met with Trump and Vance, both ready to sign a multiyear rare earth mineral deal but not ready to continue the Ukraine War.
Zelensky kept saying before the meeting he wanted to gauge Trump’s willingness to continue the Biden policy to paying Ukraine billions in civilian and military aid. When Trump refused to commit to anything but the rare earth mineral deal Zelensky thought he could control the meeting, diverting attention to what Trump would do to guarantee Ukrainian Security.”It’s amazing what comes out through emotion, and I have determined that President Zelensky is not ready for Peace if America is involved, because he feels our involvement gives him a big advantage in negotiations. I don’t want advantage. I want PEACE. He disrespected the United States of America in its cherished Oval Office. He can come back when he is ready for Peace,” Trump said on Truth Social. Zelensky thought he could gaslight Trump and Vance the same way he did 82-year-old former President Joe Biden.
Zelensky has no one to blame but himself for pushing things to the breaking point, showing a lack of judgment and internal controls needed to conduct global diplomacy. He was at the White House not to litigate, as Vance said, the Ukraine War, but to agree to a rare earth mineral deal designed to joint venture with the U.S. for years. But it didn’t take long for Zelensky to reveal true self, demanding that Trump offer his the same deal as Biden, to keep supplying Ukraine billions to fight the Kremlin. Zelensky couldn’t fathom the fact that Trump was restoring normal U.S. Russian relations, something years overdue. Biden was the first-and-only U.S. president to fund war against the Kremlin, ending decades of U.S. foreign policy to improve diplomacy, détente and arms control with Russia. Biden decided that Ukraine War was too important to continue U.S.-Russian relations.
Zelensky has plenty of sympathizers in the EU and U.S. Congress, wanting Trump to continue the war with the Russian Federation. Vance told Zelensky that Biden had spent billions on a reckless and costly war that’s only harmed Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Vance told Zelensky that Biden funded proxy war and only destroyed Ukraine by furthering an unwinnable war, pay billions to Kiev in arms all for waging war. Vance told Zelensky that Trump was “engaging in diplomacy” to end the isolation of Russia that has only brought misery to Ukraine with ongoing war. Vance told Zelensky he learned his matcho approach to the Kremlin from Biden who actually thought he could vanquish the Russian Federation. Three years into the war, Zelensky doesn’t admit to the Ukrainian people that he lost the war years ago, continuing to lose more sovereign territory daily.
Zelensky threw a tantrum in the Oval Office because he realized Trump and Vance were on to his gaslighting. Vance accused him of conducting “propaganda tours” in Congress, always ready to plead for more U.S. cash-and-weapons. With his latest outbreak, Zelensky has lost a valuable ally with the United States, knowing that Trump pushes ahead for normal relations with the Russian Federation. Zelensky did everything possible to sabotage U.S.-Russian relations under Biden, calling Putin a “terrorist” and a “killer.” Once Zelensky realized that the same gaslighting didn’t work with Trump and Vance, he cracked, exposing his true rage against Putin and against the United States. Zelensky likes the United States but only if he can get what he wants for his bankrupt Kiev government and war with the Kremlin. Vance was there to keep Zelensky from his usual song-and-dance.
Vance gave Zelensky a mouthful telling him he had a lot of nerve coming to the Oval Office to litigate his war with the Kremlin. Calling it “disrespectful for you to come to the Oval Office to try to litigate this in front of the American media,” Vance told Zelensky he was out of line. “You should be thanking the President for trying to bring an end to this conflict,” Vance said. Zelensky invited Vance to come to Ukraine to see the front lines. Vance dismissed the invitation telling Zelensky he would not be joining his “propaganda tours” for visiting American politicians. Trump told Zelensky “you’re not right now in a very good position,” referring to leverage in any future peace talks. “You don’t have the cards right now with us . . . millions of people think you’re gambling with World War Three, and what you’re doing is very disrespectful to the country,” Trump said.
