LOS ANGELES.–James Carville, the once chief campaign strategist for former President Bill Clinton, regained his media presence in the 2024 presidential campaign making outrageous predictions about a Kamala Harris landslide. Carville capitalizes on the left wing media’s attempt to air anyone willing to trash 78-year-old President Donald Trump. While Carville carries Democrat credentials, he’s in the same category of former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.), conservative buffoon George Conway, former NSA John Bolton, disgruntled has-beens like Anthony Scaramucci, disbarred former attorneys Michael Cohen and incarcerated Michael Avenatti, all exploited by the fake news to discredit Trump. Now Carville’s back in the news claiming Trump’s approval ratings have cratered. “Democrats need to play possum,” Carville told ultra-liberal Mediate host Dan Abrams always looking for dirt on Trump.
Carville points to a recent drop in Trump’s approval ratings due to controversial layoffs as his Department of Government Efficiency [DOGE] looks to reduce the size of the federal establishment. No one likes to see layoff and cuts in the federal government but it’s become a necessity in the age of $2 trillion deficits and $36 trillion national debt. Trump promised in his 2024 campaign to cut the bloat out of the federal budget, something that hasn’t happened since President Ronald Reagan. “It’s over,” Carville told Abrams, predicting Trump’s complete collapse in “less than 30 days.” Carville urges Democrats to sit back a watch the end of the Trump administration in short order. Only one problem: The polls that Carville cites don’t show a precipitous drop. Real Clear Politics moving average showed Trump actually moving up to 49.3%, an improvement from last week.
Carville’s sensational statements got him on many Trump-hating fake news broadcasts in the 2024 election. Now the same fakes news wants to be told more fantasy about Trump’s imminent demise. Carville brings the exact message the fake news wants to hear for its narrow audience of Trump-haters. “We’re in the midst of a collapse. This is the lowest approval—not even close—that any president has ever had at the comparable time,” Carville insisted to a gleeful Abrams. “It’s going to be easy pickings her in six weeks. Just lay back,” Carville said, stretching his prediction from a month to six weeks. Carville knows that however unpopular recent government layoffs, the headline over the next month will be about Trump ending the Ukraine War. What’s that going to do to Trump’s approval ratings? If he can pull off a ceasefire and peace talks, he’ll win back support.
Carville can’t stay out of the fake news, in part because it craves anything than disparages Trump, whether the messengers are convicted felons or not. Many of the polls used in the RCP average are well over 50% for Trump, averaging to 49.3%, hardly comparable to the 36% approval ratings for former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. No question that layoffs and concerns about government services raise anxiety in the public, especially for National Parks and other vital government services. So when a president takes the road less traveled and follows up with the unpopular decision to slash government jobs, there’s going to be a backlash. At some point, DOGE will have completed enough cuts to start rebalancing vital government services with needed federal jobs. Carville likes to use the extreme hyperbole possible to get the media’s attention.
Carville’s predictions of Kamala sweeping all seven battleground state and winning the election by a landslide should let all voters know he’s off-the-wall. Yet the need in the fake news is so extreme because of Trump actions mainly on the government’s waste, fraud and mismanagement has watched the fake news say there’s a “constitutional crisis,” meaning Trump has overstepped his Article 2 authority crossing into Congress’s Article 1 powers. Sen. John Fetterman (D-Penn.) said there’s no constitutional crisis only some disagreements on who’s responsible for deciding to cut back on federal jobs. “I’m reading these polls saying the Democrats are 13 points up in the congressional generic, the Donald Trump has the lowest approval rating in of any president at this point of his presidency in American history,” Carville told the Fox News Sean Hannity Show.
Trump reacted on his Truth Social platform to Carville’s outrageous remarks. “The Democrats, run by broken down losers like James Carville, whose weak of mind and body, are going crazy, and just don’t know what to do,” Trump said. “They have lost their confidence and spirit. They have lost their minds,” Trump posted, trying to get some kind to balanced public statement. Trump finds himself like the 2024 campaign buried in an avalanche of negative reporting from the fake news about everything he does. So, Carville fits right into the Democrat and press narrative that’s working feverishly to gain any advantage heading into the 2026 Midterm elections. Judging by the 2024 election, voters are sick of fake news gaslighting, pushing Democrats candidate and denigrating anything Trump. Carville is the perfect one to infuriate voters.
