LOS ANGELES.–Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, 47-year-old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cleverly slammed 78-year-old President Donald Trump for negotiating an end to the three-year-old Ukraine War and talking about increasing the defense budgets of NATO countries. Zelensky doesn’t like that Trump thinks that NATO membership is out of the question for Ukraine when it comes to a peace deal with 72-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin. Zelensky complains he’s being excluded from peace talks when, in fact, he’s said in the past, he would never meet with a war criminal like Putin. “A fews days ago, President Trump told me about his conversation with Putin. Not once did he mention that America needs Europe at the table. That says a lot,” Zelensky said at Munich, pitting the EU against the Trump administration, gaslighting Munich attendees.
Zelensky cleverly knows that the EU has its own issues with Trump so he’s taken liberty to fuel EU antagonism toward the United States. Where was the EU when Zelensky and 82-year-old former President Joe Biden decided to go to war with the Kremlin? Zelenky had no backing in the EU at all in the early days of the war. Only from relentless pressure from Washington did the EU take sides and blackball Putin from EU business. “The old days are over—when America supported Europe just because it always had,” Zelensky said, telling Munich delegates that Trump has abandoned European allies. Where does Zelensky speak for the United States or, for that matter, the EU? Fueled by the fake news that despises Trump, Zelensky wants to gaslight the EU into believing that Trump’s direct talks with Putin show he’s selling out the EU.
Zelensky has been gaslighting the U.S. and EU from Day One, where Putin moved some 200,000 troops into Ukraine Feb. 24, 2022. Zelensky said Putin was engaged in an imperial style land grab, not defending Russian national security against Ukraine’s arms deal with the U.S. When Zelensk says the “old days are over,” he actually refers to the obvious fact that Biden is not longer president, calling the shots for U.S. foreign policy. Biden gave Zelensky a blank check for the last three years to wage war against the Kremlin. Kiev’s Minister of Defense Intelligence Kyrylo Budanov once said that Putin suffered from a terminal illness and Russian military was near collapse. That’s the kind of gaslighting that Zelensky delivered over the last three years of war. If you listened to his nightly video messages, Zelensky has told the Ukrainian people that he’s winning the war with the Kremlin.
Now Zelensky warns the EU that Trump has abandoned them because he working on a peace deal with Putin. “Yesterday here in Munich, the U.S. vice president made it clear—decades of old relationship between Europe and America are ending. From now on, things will be different, and Europe needs to adjust to that,” Zelensky said. Zelensky can’t stand the fact that Trump won’t be buffaloed by him to get more cash-and-arms from the U.S. to continue his futile war against the Russian Federation. Trump said recently that Zelensky made a big mistake going to war with the Kremlin in 2022 when he could have negotiated a political settlement. Zelensky stubbornly insisted that Russia must remove every soldier from Ukraine before he would consider discussing anything. Now Zelensky says that the U.S. has abandoned Europe. Is Brussels listening to Zelensky’s rubbish.
Trump’s differences with the EU are over trade and mutual defense but they all stem from past financial arrangements that favored the European Union. Zelensky is the last person anyone should trust for objective analysis on the U.S.-EU relationship. “Let’s be honest—now we can’t rule out the possibility that America might say ‘No” to Europe on issues that threaten it. Many leaders have talked about Europe that needs its own military—an army of Europe,” Zelensky said, making zero sense. Why would Zelensky want to get into NATO when Europe needs a new military force to protect its interests? Zelensky is essentially saying that NATO is worthless for not admitting Ukraine. Trump didn’t exclude Zelensky from NATO membership, NATO excluded Ukraine on more than one occasion. Former NATO Secretary-Gen. Jens Stoltenberg said Ukraine did not meet NATO’s standards.
Zelensky’s deliberate attempt at Munich to drive a wedge between the U.S. and EU is beyond despicable. Zelensky doesn’t like the fact that he opted for war Feb. 24, 2022 and has lost the war, destroying Ukraine in the process. Zelensky has done nothing but kill more of his troops and lose more sovereign territory. Why would NATO—or the EU—want to take on his war with the Kremlin? Trump recognizes that Zelensky had made some very bad decisions and has harmed Ukraine’s infrastructure and economy with his Ukraine War. “Right now, the most influential member of NATO seems to be Putin—because his whims have the power to block NATO decisions. Zelensky knows Ukraine doesn’t meet NATO’s membership requirements. Zelensky has proven himself as a prodigious smoke blower, pitting the U.S against the EU in his latest rubbish.
