LOS ANGELES.–Former President Bill Clinton, 78, and his 77-year-old wife, former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, rolled their eyes all through Trump’s inauguration, having been rejected by voters in the 2024 presidential campaign. Like former President Barack Obama, 63, all three campaigned for months for 60-year-old Vice President Kamala Harris, singing her praises but, more importantly, denigrating 78-year-old President Donald Trump on the campaign. All three barely said a word when an assassin tried to end Trump’s campaign July 17 in Butler, Pa. Hillary ran and lost to Trump in 2016 when he was a political neophyte, going up against the Clinton political machine, a well-oiled Democrat dynasty with all its fundraising and strategic advantages over Trump. But voter rejected Hillary in 2016, in one of the most unlikely political defeats in U.S. history.
Hillary lied about Trump in the 2016 through her bogus opposition research AKA The Steele Dossier, caused Trump more grief with years of FBI investigations into his alleged ties to the Kremlin. Talking about conspiracies to upend Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, Obama authorized a monstrous scheme to sabotage Trump’s campaign with an FBI counterintelligence investigation led 64-year-old former FBI Director James Comey. Hillary gave her Steele Dossier to the late Sen. John McCain (R-Az.) who, in turn, handed it to former 69-year-old former CIA Director John Brennan who gave it to Comey. Comey used Hillary’s fake Dossier as probable cause to open up an illegal counterintelligence investigation into Trump and his presidential campaign. Comey even lied to the Foreign Intelligence Sureillance Act [FISA] court to get warrants to wiretap Trump’s campaign.
No one from the Obama administration that participated in the conspiracy to undermine Trump’s 2016 campaign have been prosecuted or gone to jail, except a few minor players. Hillary holds a particular grudge with Trump because, despite all the Obama White House shenanigans, Trump still beat her, robbing her of ever becoming president. So when the Clinton’s appear for anything Trump they’re solicited by the fake news to give their snarky comments, this time about Trump’s inauguration speech. By all accounts, Trump speech was a low-key, take-no-prisoners speech laying out Trump MAGA agenda, something vehemently opposed by Democrats and the fake news. Hillary laughed when Trump said with an executive order he could rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. Hillary was asked by the fake news what she thought of Trump’s speech.
Anyone that follows Hillary knows she has nothing but contempt for Trump and all his MAGA agenda. “I think you can figure it out for yourself,” Hillary told the fake news, about her opinion of Trump’s speech. Hillary thought her and Bill made good surrogates for Kamala on the campaign trail but it turns out they were preaching to the Democrat choir, not appealing to independent voters that determined the election. Hillary and Bill are all in the progressive direction the Democrat Party has gone over the years, driving away formerly mainstream voters, no longer represented by Kamala’s radical left agenda, promoting civil rights, gender rights and women’s reproductive rights. Kamala thought she could swing the female voters to her campaign by blaming Trump for ending Roe v. Wade. Turns out mainstream women voters have more on their mind than abortion rights.
Democrats no longer see the Clintons as anything more than senior citizens, no longer part of the woke, progressive agenda, letting racial and gender issues dominate the Democrat Party. Hillary can only disparage Trump because he’s done something she could never do, get elected president but now Trump get elected twice. Trump got elected again because voters didn’t trust Kamala to do anything different from the Biden White House. All she talked about during the campaign was denigrating Trump, calling him a threat to democracy to his face at their one and only Sept. 27 ABC News debate. Right after the debate, Kamala’s former campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon begged Trump for a rematch, which Trump promptly declined, saying he won the debate. Kamala’s strategists insisted she won the debate but asked Trump for another crack at it.
Bill and Hillary didn’t stay for the post-inauguration luncheon. “We have to go,” Bill told the press. But clearly the Clintons are seen especially in Trump’s world as political pariahs, no longer respected as they once were over 30 years ago. Bill Clinton once tried to turn the Democrat Party to the middle but was promptly outflanked by various minority groups with their own agendas. Hillary can only look at Trump with envy, primarily for beating her in 2016 but winning again in 2024. Voters rejected the Democrat Party’s woke agenda, preferring to retain the American meritocracy that looked less at race-based preferences than a color-blind society based on merit. Hillary and Bill can scoff at Trump all they want but they know the vast majority of Americans agree with Trump’s approach to government, especially seeking to end foreign wars and get rid of inflation.
