LOS ANGELES.–Disgraced, discredited and angry former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wy.) continues her love affair with the fake news giving her foolish excuses for the Jan. 6 House Select Committee that railroaded 78-year-old President Donald Trump in its politically biased investigation. Jan. 6 House Select Committee spent 18 months after the U.S. Senate acquitted Trump of “incitement of insurrection” Feb. 13, 2021, insisting that Trump planned and organized the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection. Cheney, a former Wyoming Congresswoman, was driven out of office Jan. 3, 2023by the worst defeat in Wyoming history, all because she let her vendetta with Trump get the best of her, destroying her GOP political career. Now she feels compelled to justify her biased work on the Jan. 6 House Select Committee. Cheney accused Trump of planning and orchestrating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.
Cheney responded to Trump comments on NBC’s “Meet the Press” with Kristen Welker that said some of the Jan. 6 House Committee members should be in jail for gaslighting the public, destroying exculpatory evidence and cherry-picking testimony that pointed to Trump’s guilt. “Here’s the truth: Donald Trump attempted to overturn the 2020 presidential election and seize power,” Cheney told the fake news Hill newspaper. Hill reports only on negative news on Trump, egregiously biased, rarely, if ever, saying anything positive. Cheney has no facts or evidence to make her wild statements about her “truth,” that stems from her self-destructive hatred of Trump. Where does Cheney say to the Hill newspaper that Trump tried overturn the presidential election and seize power? That wasn’t in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s charges against Trump.
Where does Cheney get her facts and evidence against Trump, other than her own sick interpretation of the facts consistent with her hatred of Trump. “He mobilized an angry mob and sent them to the United States Capitol, where they attacked police officers, invade the building and halted the official counting of Electoral votes. Trump watched on television as police officers were brutally beaten and the Capitol was assaulted, refusing for hours to tell the mob to leave,” Cheney said. Unpacking Cheney’s twisted interpretations of facts not easy. Trump never ordered anyone to attack the Capitol, only after delivering his speech, to protest peacefully. FBI officials confirmed to the Jan. 6 House Committee that the riots were planned for months by groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers. Trump had nothing to do with those groups involved in planning the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.
Cheney insists that Trump was the one who ordered the riots and could have easily called them off as if he was the mastermind and chief organizer. Cheney has no facts or evidence only her wild anti-Trump conjecture. Special Counsel Jack Smith never accused or charged Trump with the crimes Cheney claims because there’s no facts or evidence to support them. Electoral College perfunctory vote certification went on as scheduled, even under the dire circumstances of the Jan. 6 Capitol riots. Cheney and the fake news like the Hill continue to beat a dead horse after the election. Why would the American public send Trump back to the White House if they thought he was guilty of all the charges Cheney says? Cheney clearly has fabricated her anti-Trump narrative and repeats it to any fake news source willing to listen. But clearly Liz Cheney is a political has been.
Fake news likes to continue beating the dead horse because it’s all they’ve got left after Trump landslide victory Nov. 5. Whatever happened on Jan. 6, 2021, it was not, as Cheney insists, an insurrection or attempt to overthrow the U.S. government. It was an angry White mob vandalizing he Capitol after watching Black Lives Matter and other leftist groups riot, loot and burn cities and federal buildings around the country for months in the summer of 2020. Cheney, and her other GOP colleague on the Jan. 6 House Select Committee former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (D-Il.), 46, slam Trump incessantly for their own reasons. Both Cheney and Kinzinger have only interest to the fake news but burnt all their bridges in GOP political circles. Cheney and Kinzinger can only play on the margins because they were overwhelmingly rejected by their constituents.
Cheney has created a worst case scenario in her mind, not based on facts but only on her blinding hatred of Trump. Lucky for her there’s enough folks in the fake news willing to lose ratings and readership repeating her rubbish about Trump. “This was the worst breach of our Constitution by any president in our nation’s history. Donald Trump’s suggestion that members of Congress who later investigated his illegal and unconstitutional actions should be jailed is a continuation of his assault on the rule of law and the foundations of our republic,” Cheney said, spewing her baseless internal hatred toward Trump. If members of the Jan. 6 House Select Committee destroyed evidence and cherry-picked facts to find Trump guilty of insurrection, they need to be exposed. Cheney’s hyperbole reflects her daily desperation to attack Trump while the public has ignored all her outrageous accusations.
