LOS ANGELES.–Comedian Bill Maher, 68, put into perspective 60-year-old Kamala Harris’s stunning, landslide loss to 78-year-old President Donald Trump in the Nov. 5 presidential election. Maher said maybe voters just didn’t like Kamala. Kamala lost all seven battle ground states and the popular vote by nearly 4 million, prompting Democrats to point fingers at each other. Everyone has a theory for why Democrats got crushed in the 2024 election, including Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) who keeps saying that Democrats lost the working class in this year’s election. Sanders sees everything in the context of socialism, working class, union voters that are supposed to vote Democrat in all elections. But Maher ultimately nailed why Kamala lost in such a big way, despite spending well over billion dollars in the 2024 campaign. Maher thinks, at the end of the day, voters just didn’t like Kamala as much as Trump.

Bernie sees everything through lens of class struggle, with emphasis on working class voters, whatever that means anymore in today’s world. Everyone earning a living in the U.S. is a working class person, unless a distinction is made between college-educated or not, something Bernie seldom mentions. “Here is the reality, the working class of this country is angry, and they have reason to be angry,” Bernie told Dana Bash on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday talk show. “We are living in an economy today where people on the top are doing phenomenally well while 60 percent of our people are living paycheck to paycheck,” Bernie said, making no sense at all in terms to why voters went for Trump over Kamala. Other Democrats attributed Kamala’s defeat to “racism,” “sexism,” and “misogyny,” all feeble explanations why Kamala lost the 2024 race.

Democrats and their friends in the fake news haven’t come to grips with how extreme media bias actually helped Trump get elected. Polls showed, including a recent Gallup study, voters no longer truste the mainstream press to give anything other than pro-Democrat propaganda on the 2024 election. Not one major news outlet, broadcast or print, hides its extreme bias against Trump, or put another way, support for Kamala Harris. So voters got fed up with media gaslighting, telling them who they should back in the 2024 race. Media are no longer neutral or nonpartisan in U.S. elections but take clear sides for Democrat candidates. Sanders has no other lens from which to analyze anything other than socialist class warfare. Sanders knows that the structure of society, whether in Europe or the United States or anywhere else, has always aligned itself with low, middle and high classes.

Sanders thinks 81-year-old President Joe Biden did a better job of appealing to working class voters, as Bernie likes to call them. But when you analyze the 2020 presidential election, Democrats took advantage of voters’ fears of the rapidly escalating Covid-19 pandemic. Voters watched themselves, family and friends dropping like flies as the campaign went on over the Summer of 2020. By the time the election rolled around, Democrats and the press gaslighted voters into believing that Biden would do a better job of saving American lives than Trump. Trump was demonized by Joe and Kamala in 2020, spending most the campaign blaming Trump for the Covid crisis sweeping the country. Joe and Kamala actually said in 2020 that Trump would never produce any vaccines in a timely manner. In fact, Joe and Kamala said they wouldn’t trust a vaccine developed under Trump.

When Pfizer’s first mRNA vaccine came out one week after the Nov. 3, 2020 election, Joe and Kamala embraced it like it was their own. Trump got no credit for Operation Warp Speed that pushed vaccine makers to come up with a Covid vaccines in record time. By that time it didn’t matter, Trump was defeated handily by Biden, with Democrats attributing it to many other extraneous reasons. President Joe Biden, 81, was the first to boast about beating Trump, saying he would have been the best to run against Trump because he’s the only one that beat him. Well, Biden let his big win get to his head because the fact remained that Biden could not crack a 40% approval during his first term. How ironic that Kamala’s approval ratings were an abysmal 36% yet she was picked by Democrats to replace Biden when he was pressured to drop out of the 2024 race July 21.

Bernie showed how he’s utterly clueless why Democrats go crushed in the 2024 presidential election. Maher put it simply but it rings true that voters didn’t like Kamala. Well, Kamala did get over 70 million votes, so a lot folks liked her. But when compared with Trump running the table in all seven battleground states, it was a strong voter backlash against her campaign, but, more importantly, against the corrupt U.S. press. If the press doesn’t take seriously how it harmed Kamala’s campaign, then history will repeat itself in 2028, when Democrats will want to pick themselves up off the mat. “It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class had abandoned them,” Sanders said. Bernie doesn’t get that working class voters just liked Trump better than they liked Kamala.
