LOS ANGELES.–CBS News “60 Minutes” has been caught red handed, gaslighting the public by editing 60-year-old Vice President Kamala Harris’s answers because they appeared incoherent. What more does the public need to know or see about egregious media bias in the 2024 presidential campaign? When Trump debated Kamala Sept. 27 on ABC News, they pulled the same stunt, picked questions favorable to Kamala and more incriminating for 78-year-old former President Donald Trump. ABC avoided questions about the border, foreign policy and national security, staying focused on women’s reproductive rights and climate change. But what happened at “60 Minutes” is a smoking gun for political media bias in the 2024 campaign. No one at this point believes that any of the mainstream media, including CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, and MSNBC want to see Trump elected president.
CBS News denied publicly doing anything wrong in its edit of Kamala’s answers on “60 Minutes.” “Former President Donald Trump is accusing “60 Minutes” of deceitful editing of our Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris,” the show said in statement. “That is false,” “60 Minutes” said, denying that it tampered with Kamala’s answers without disclosing the editing to the public. Before the interview with Kamala was released, CBS News said that no editing had been performed by CBS editors and censors. “But a different portion of the response. When we edit any interview, whether a politician, an athlete or movie start, we strive to be clear, accurate and on point. The portion of her answer on “60 Minutes” was more succinct, which allow time for other subjects in a wide ranging 21-minute segment,” CBS News said, gaslighting the public.
CBS News has a long history of media bias, once, back in 2004, publishing on the air a fake document of former President George W. Bush’s record in the Texas Air National Guard. CBS Managing Director and nightly news host Dan Rather put the document on his nightly news program. Once it was determined to be a forgery, Rather, who had vetted the document, was eventually fired by CBS News in 2005. But the inside track on the forged document came from CBS executive producer Mary Mapes, who, in turn, received the document from former U.S. Sen. Max Cleland (D-Ga). Who actually forged the document on cheap computer is anyone’s guess. What’s known for sure is that Dan Rather and Mary Mapes backed Sen. John Kerry for president and allowed the news room to sabotage former President George W. Bush’s 2004 election campaign.
When it came to Rather, there were real consequences to the deception on CBS Nightly News but nothing happens today because political bias is baked in to all major broadcast and print news. No one a CBS News “60 Minutes” will be disciplined for lose their job for egregious media bias because it’s now a ubiquitous practice in today’s journalism. “In normal times, what happened on 60 Minutes (deceptively doctoring her answers), would be THE END OF ANYONE’S CAMPAIGN,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. Trump told Dan Bongino podcast show that “I think I’m going to sue them actually,” but Trump doesn’t know yet whether it affects the results of the 2024 race. If he wins the race, Trump probably won’t follow up himself but should ask his new Attorney General to investigate media bias now sweeping the U.S. press.
CBS News tried to go on the offense, insisting Trump pulled out his interview with “60 Minutes.” “Remember, Mr. Trump pulled out of the interview with “60 Minutes” and the vice president participated,” CBS News said. But Trump’s decision to pull out of the interview directly related to the egregious CBS pro-Kamala bias, looking for anything news worthy to make Trump look bad. “Our long-standing invitation to former President Trump remains open. If he would like to discuss the issues facing the nation and the Harris interview, we would be happing to have him on “60 Minutes,” wrote CBS News. CBS News does everything to deny that they deliberately edited Kamala’s interview to make her look better. CBS News would do the exact opposite with Trump, taking his statements out of context to make him look as bad as possible before the election.
Trump’s decision to pull out of the “60 Minute” interview is precisely why he cancelled all further debates with Kamala. U.S. news organizations have undeniable pro-Democrat media bias, with no one left in the public thinking that they deliver factual reporting. A recent Gallup study showed that in 2024 70% of the U.S. population doesn’t trust the mainstream press to get factual, objective news without political bias. “What we’re doing is we’re going to subpoena their records because we want to see how much else did she do,” said the Trump campaign completing a rally in Michigan. CBS News “just admitted to doing exactly what President Trump accused them of doing,” being hopelessly biased. Whatever happened to Dan Rather, certainly doesn’t happen to the mainstream press today. CBS News was caught red handed and continues to gaslight the public that it’s unbiased.
