LOS ANGELES.–As Democrats from all stripes admit that 81-year-old President Joe Biden isn’t fit for four more years, some NATO countries, including Scandinavia and the Baltic States, have quietly reintroduced a military draft due to heightened concerns about Russian aggression. Biden has gaslighted the European Union and NATO to believe that 71-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin is an implacable threat to peace in Europe because the Ukraine War. Biden and Ukraine’s 46-year-old President Volodymyr Zelensky have relentlessly sold NATO on the idea that Putin plans to seize more European countries, prompting 79-year-old former NATO Supreme Commander [1997-2000] Gen. Wesley K. Clark to say Putin was trying to reestablish the old Soviet Empire. Clark frequently appears as a CNN military analyst, a big supporter of Biden’s Ukraine War.
Biden has commanded, like no other president, an army of liberal media to spread propaganda and disinformation over the airwaves to promote the Ukraine War. Biden was the first and only president in post WW II history to go to war against Russia. All other presidents, from Harry Truman to Donald Trump, worked feverishly on diplomacy, détente and arms control, believe that coexistence with America’s enemies was preferable to prospects of returning to war on the European Continent. In the months leading up to the Feb. 24, 2022 Ukraine War, Biden refused to discuss with Putin new security arrangements for Ukraine, instead continued sending lethal arms to the Kiev government in preparation for war with Russia. Biden refused any diplomacy to resolve the brewing conflict. Finally, Putin moved the Russian army into Ukraine for a “special military operation.”
Putin’s “special military operation” was designed to demilitarize Ukraine after Biden refused for months to stop sending lethal weapons to the Kiev government. Once Putin moved 300,000 troops into Ukraine, Biden said the war was “unprovoked and unjustified,” the White House mantra that failed to engage in diplomacy to avoid the conflict. Biden was Vice President in the Obama administration when the CIA-backed a pro-Western coup Feb. 22, 2015 in the Kremlin backed Kiev government of Viktor Yanukovych AKA the Maiden Revolution. Putin, who hosted the Sochi Winter Olympics at the time, annexed the Crimean Peninsula March 1, 2014 to protect his Black Sea naval base and other military facilities. Former President Barack Obama started the policy of arming Ukraine with the eventual goal of returning Crimea and other sovereign territory back to Ukraine.
Biden, who faces a relentless effort by Democrat Party to replace him as the 2024 nominee due to his age-related cognitive decline, pushed for war with the Kremlin, funding proxy war in Ukraine to degrade the Russian military. Biden’s Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin left no doubt in Ramstein, Germany in 2022 that the goal of the U.S.-backed Ukraine War was to degrade the Russian military to the point that it could no longer wage war. Putin and Kremlin realized in 2024 that the war was no longer a war with Ukraine but one with NATO, trying to drive Russian forces out of Ukraine. Zelensky and Biden have rejected every peace plan since the war began to end the conflict at the peace table. Zelensky set unrealistic conditions for truce, ceasefire and peace talks, demanding the Putin be charged at The Hague for war crimes and pay Kiev military reparations.
So when former Gen. Wesley Clark says that Putin is trying to reestablish the old Soviet Union or Russian Empire it’s pure rubbish to justify the proxy war that continues to destroy Ukraine, kill countless civilians, destroy infrastructure and drive Kiev into bankruptcy. Ukraine is now wholly dependent on U.S. and EU government largess to pay for the Kiev government and fund the war. Putin has said on many occasions that he wants to end the war under the right conditions, including accepting the presence of Russian forces in Dontesk, Luhansk and Crimea. Yet Biden and Zelensky, and warmongers like Clark, push to keep the war going. Instead of implementing drafts in EU countries, Brussels should demand that the war end through diplomacy and neutral peace talks. Biden and Zelensky gaslight the U.S. and EU that war-ravaged Ukraine defends European democracy.
Former President Donald Trump, 78, and his 39-year-old running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) want to end the Ukraine War as a top priority on winning the 2024 election. Every Democrat, Republican and independent should applaud Trump’s effort to promote peace in Europe and save the world from a new world war. Biden has openly expressed similar contempt for 71-year-old Chinese President Xi Jinping, telling the world in 2022 that he would commit U.S. troops to defending Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion. Biden’s judgment has been so unsound for years, starting a proxy war with the Kremlin and threatening war with Communist China. Biden’s support by liberal press outlets has fadeed after years of backing proxy war in Ukraine. Now that Trump looks poised to win the 2024 election, world peace is finally on the horizon.
