LOS ANGELES.–Manhattan District Atty. Alvin Bragg, 50, won his hush money case against 78-year-old former President Donald Trump but he did so a great expense to the U.S. criminal justice system. Bragg ran for DA in 2021 on a platform to go after Trump even if his 70-year-old predecessor Cyrus Vance Jr. decided not to prosecute based on insufficient evidence. But unlike Vance Jr., Bragg tortured logic and laws to the breaking point charging Trump April 4, 2023 with 34 felonies by upgrading usual misdemeanors to Class 3 felonies. Apart from that, 66-year-old former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a partisan Democrat, said Trump would have never been prosecuted had he not been Trump or running for president, the first Democrat to speak honestly about the case. Bragg got his conviction with a Democrat biased judge and jury, giving the system a big black eye.

Cuomo, who was hounded out of office Aug. 23, 2021 for alleged sexual harassment, told HBO’s “Real Time” with Bill Maher that Trump’s prosecution was political, a devastating claim coming from a life-long Democrat. “The Attorney General’s case in New York, frankly, should have never been brought,” Cuomo said. “And if his name was not Donald Trump and if he wasn’t running for president . . .I’m the former AG of New York [and] I’m telling you that case would’ve never been brought,” attesting to corruption in the Atty. General’s and Manhattan DA’s office. “That’s what is offensive to people, and it should be because if there’s anything left, it’s belief in the justice system,” Cuomo said. Cuomo’s remarks come on the heels of TV star Judge Judy Sheindlin who echoed those views telling CNN’s Chris Wallace yesterday that the trial was “nonsense.”

White House and Democrat officials pride themselves on keeping a tight ship when it comes to the unified Democrat message that Trump deserves everything he got. So when Cuomo and Judge Judy come out telling the truth, it upends the Democrat Party narrative that Trump is a convicted felon and criminal. House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio.) and Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky) have been investigating “weaponization” of the criminal justice system. There’s plenty of evidence that the criminal justice system has been hijacked by Democrat political operatives trying to prevent Trump from beating 81-year-old President Joe Biden. When Trump ran in 2016, there was a active conspiracy in the Department of Justice, FBI, CIA and NSA to sabotage Trump’s 2016 campaign to help former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton get elected.

Cuomo’s remarks throw a monkey wrench in Biden’s reelection campaign, now questioning whether or not all of the pending cases against Trump, whether from Special Counsel Jack Smith or the Fulton County DA Fani Willis, are politically motivated, a complete corruption of the system. Cuomo’s contents undermine the Democrat Party’s narrative that Trump is a criminal defendant, not a victim of corruption at the Department of Justice. Only recently, Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland refused Jordan and Comer’s request for the audiotape of Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur. Hur released his report Feb. 5, saying that Biden suffered from severe memory impairments. Yet Garland refuses to turn over the audio tape to House Republicans. So, when it comes to the criminal justice system, the public has grown skeptical of the government.

Cuomo’s comments as a life-long Democrat undermine the Party’s legal case against Trump in the 2024 presidential election. Trump has maintained his innocence throughout, blaming left wing activists for hijacking the criminal justice system. Trump fought against the Russian hoax that accused him of conspiring with the Kremlin to win the 2016 presidential election. Even when Trump was exonerated by Special Counsel Robert Mueller April 18, 2019, Democrats like 84-year-old former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and 64-year-old Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) still insisted Trump was guilty of Russian collusion. So, when it comes to the credibility of the criminal justice system, Cuomo and Judge Judy have a point questioning the legitimacy of Trump’s hush money trial. No American citizen can trust that the system isn’t rigged for political persecution.

Listening to Cumo and Judge Judy tell the truth about Bragg’s inappropriate prosecution and conviction of Trump should tell voters what they need to know about the Democrat Party. Democrats have looked for years to prosecute Trump with the intent to stopping him from running in 2024. Democrats knew that Biden was a weak candidate with low approval ratings, leaving him vulnerable to beating Trump for second time. Prosecuting Trump was a Democrat strategy initiated for years and culminating with the May 30 conviction for a crime no one understands. Judge Judy called the charges and conviction “nonsense.” “And you want to talk about a threat to democracy, when you have this country believing you’re playing politics with the justice system and you’re trying put people in jail or convict them for political reasons, then we have a real problem, “ Cuomo said.
