LOS ANGLES.–Sitting next to 51-year-old House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), 59-year-old Kamala Harris stood up and applauded like all other obedient Democrats in her lobby, but she witnessed firsthand a different 81-year-old President Joe Biden spew vitriol for 67-minutes at his State-of-the-Union Speech. Harris heard, like everyone else, a raving lunatic, scream at the partisan crowd, excoriating a joint session of Congress and a national and international audience. Harris, who has even lower approval ratings than Joe at 36% has shown little appeal to Democrat, Republican and independent voters but it’s become more obvious that she might need to take the reins before Joe finishes his term Jan. 20, 2025. Harris called Joe “passionate,” a euphemism for the 107-minute rant that went beyond something emphatic into an out-of-control diatribe without any real coherency.
Harris and all who work for Joe lie routinely to the press who’s dumb enough to believe all their excuses about Joe’s age-related cognitive decline or dementia. “We’ll get to that at some point and we’ll deal with that. But the point is right now only the day after the State of the Union , I think the president laid down the facts for the American people in terms of what’s at stake and I thought he did an extraordinary job,” Harris told CBS White House correspondent Mary Bruce. Harris isn’t authorized to tell the truth, other than what her boss and his handlers want to hear. Anyone that questions Joe gets the immediate wrath of his wife Jill and sister Valerie Owens. Everyone listening knows this is not the same Joe Biden even last year before his dementia caught up with him. Harris knows what she heard last night like everyone else but must be a good cheerleader.
Harris hasn’t been taken seriously by the public because, for whatever reason, she’s too giddy and dismissed as relevant, not a good presidential candidate other than for the narrowest of constituencies that votes to advance minorities. Harris has a 36% approval rating for a reason, really not that worse than Joe with his 39% rating. But when it comes to last night’s speech, Harris was Joe’s chief cheerleader up on the dais with Johnson. Johnson showed considerable maturity and restraint, not letting his body language get the better of him. Nothing like what 84-year-old House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) when she tore up 77-year-old former President Donald Trump’s State-of-the-Union Speech in 2020. Harris didn’t like Bruce putting her on the spot talking about Joe’s age or recent polls that a vast majority of American voters don’t want him running for a second term.
Bruce hammered Harris the day after the speech, getting a predictably defensive response. “What do you say to voters who are sold on the president but may not be sold on you about his potential possibility,” Bruce asked Harris, referring to her low approval ratings, not seeing her as presidential material. Harris told Bruce that Biden presented the facts as written by Biden’s White House speechmakers. Does Harris really think the red meat thrown to the partisan crowd are facts or fabricated talking points? “Well, first of all, I think what we saw in President Joe Biden is somebody who’s prepared to take on a second term, and do it with passion and do it with vigor,” Harris told Bruce, repeating the White House talking points. But anyone listening to the speech was frightened by Biden’s ranting-and-raving, certainly not showing passion or competence.
Bruce wanted to rub into Harris that if Biden were to call it quits, she would not be first on anyone’s lists to takeover. California Gov. Gavin Newsom is often talked about a replacement if Joe decides he’s had enough. “And as it relates to, you know, the various tactics that our opponents are using, they’re going to attack a myriad of issues,” Harris said, sidestepping Bruce’s question of her low approval ratings. Harris thinks she can rubber stamp Joe’s performance, saying it showed passion and vigor, exactly what Biden was told to do. But instead of showing that, Biden raised his voice and screamed at the audience for 107 minutes. Anyone listening knows that Joe was a different person from his previous times in front of cameras delivering speeches. Harris wants to call it “passion and vigor,” but last night’s audience saw senility and dementia.
Harris breaches her oath of office “to protect and defends the Constitution of the United States,” ignoring Biden’s obvious signs of dementia, now a danger to U.S. national security. Harris listened to the same ranting-and-raving as everyone else, despite agreeing with most of the scripted content. But Harris knows this is not the same person she ran with in 2020, probably not the same person she knows as Joe Biden. “But there ‘s the bottom line. If necessary, which will not be the case, I am ready. But the bottom line is our president is full of vigor and passion and perspective to take on another term. And I’m standing right with him,” Harris told Bruce, rejecting the idea that she’d need to step up. How Harris can gaslight Bruce about what everyone saw at the State-of-the-Union is anyone’s guess. Kamala has trouble leveling with anyone about everything.
