LOS ANGELES.–U.S. press doubled down oppposing former President Trump, insisting his campaign is too strident to appeal to general election voters. But on the eve of Super Tuesday, Trump leads Biden in the most liberal polls by growing margins, as voters see Biden as too old and disabled for another term. No one in the liberal press likes Trump defending himself against an avalanche of charges, Trump claims are all politically motivated to upend his 2024 presidential campaign. Today the press got bad news when the Supreme Court ruled that Trump cannot be disqualified from the federal ballot because of Section 3 or the 1868 14th Amendment, banning participating in insurrection from holding public office. Supreme Court ruled today that it was not appropriate for states to make a federal decision about the application of the 14th Amendment to deny access to the federal ballot.
Supreme Court today has no comment on whether the Colorado Supreme Court prematurely considered Trump convicted of insurrection, when none of the cases against him, including 91 felonies, prosecute him for insurrection. But the charges against Trump for obstructing the Jan. 6, 2021 Electoral College vote certification, doesn’t define insurrection, as it applies to the 14th Amendment. No court has determined whether the Jan. 6 was actually a riot, calling it an “insurrection” because Democrats thought they could use it to block Trump from running for president. Today’s Supreme Court ruling puts an end to stretching the 14th Amendment to fit the circumstance of stopping Trump from running his 2024 campaign. No one answered whether or not Jan. 6 was, in fact, an insurrection. Trump got the ruling he wanted but the media sees it as radical.
Media knows that Trump delivers the most entertaining, effective campaign speeches in modern U.S. history. When compared with 81-year-old President Joe Biden, he can’t speak without exposing his age-related cognitive decline. Fake journalists like MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough accuse Trump of the same cognitive impairments as Biden. Scarborough knows there’s a night-and-day difference between Biden and Trump. Biden can’t campaign for two minutes without showing his age, something that bothers liberals trying to sell him to the public. Trump spends hours in front of microphones and cameras with largest crowds cheering on his speeches, obviously liking what they hear. Yet Democrat hacks like Scarborough find anything objectionable about Trump speeches, spending most of their time fact-checking Trump applying their own liberal bias.
Accusing Trump of radical speechmaking is preposterous, knowing Trump holds strong views about his prosecution by the Biden Justice Department. If Trump thinks he’s been unfairly targeted by the White House to interfere with his campaign, why should he stop telling the public? Does it sound radical to the liberal press for Trump to defend himself? Why is it OK for the press to try-and-convict Trump of all charges on the daily airwaves but it’s not OK for Trump to defend himself at campaign events? “Donald Trump is Donald Trump. That’s not going to change,” said Biden senior campaign adviser Chris LeCivita, not expecting Trump to change over the 2024 campaign. LaCivita thinks that letting Trump be Trump undermines his campaign in the general election, not realizing that Trump is gaining more momentum daily heading into Election Day.
Biden campaign officials know that they can’t rely on Joe to deliver the message for four more years. Every time Biden speaks to the public it makes Trump’s point that he’s not fit for four more years. Biden’s campaign advisers think they can repeat the 2020 campaign, sequestering Biden from public campaign stops, instead using snippets-and-sound-bites to manufacture a fake candidate that hides his cognitive decline. Biden’s campaign team envies Trump long, persuasive campaign speeches, only able to nitpick specific statements to make Trump look bad. Trump’s Spokesman Steven Cheung said Trump would not “pivot” for the general election, toning anything down, knowing the Democrat strategy to scaring voters about abortion and democracy under a new Trump presidency. Trump’s supporters like his consistency and campaign style.
Only Democrats and the press resent Trump combative campaign style, defending himself against the Biden White House attempts to sabotage his campaign. Trump raises many policy questions that leave voters reluctant to repeat what happened in 2020. Democrats and the press demonized Trump for Covid-19, blaming him for the rising death tolls when, in fact, no one could have done any better managing the global pandemic. Unlike 2020, Democrats can’t disparage Trump for Covid-19 or race riots precipitated by George Floyd’s unfortunate death. “At some tpoin [Trump] needs to take the spotlight off himself,” said Tom Davis, a former Virginia congressman who backs Haley. Trump’s uncanny ability to dominate the media cycle is precisely what makes him a compelling candidate. Democrats and press can’t derail the Trump freight train in 2024.
