LOS ANGELES.–When 53-year-old Hunter Biden refused to attend his House Oversight Committee deposition Dec. 14, he gave a brief statement in Washington to the press. How the White House or his attorney Abbe Lowell permitted Hunter to speak publicly is anyone’s guess. Hunter has been a major liability to 81-year-old President Joe Biden recently approved Dec/ 15 221-212 party line vote for an impeachment inquiry. Republicans led by 51-year-old House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) have been investigating for over one year Joe’s involvement with Hunter and his 74-year-old brother James in foreign business deals, the subject of the recent impeachment inquiry. While Democrats and the press demand a smoking gun, Comer has amassed a mountain of evidence proving Joe was involved in the family overseas business deals.
Joe emphatically denied any involvement with Hunter’s overseas foreign business deals netting him and his family millions in payments. Democrats and the press demand that Comer show them proof that cash was actually deposited in Joe’s personal checking or savings accounts. Comer has said that the Biden family used shell corporations and bank accounts to collect cash from foreign governments. Hunter said emphatically that his father was “not involved financially” in his overseas transactions. Democrats and the press fixate only on Hunter when, in fact, James Biden was more involved in the foreign business deals. When Hunter says Joe was not “financially involved” with his overseas business deals. Lowell gave Hunter the exculpatory language that he was not “financially involved,” meaning Joe wasn’t cutting deals like Hunter and James.
Hunter and Lowell feel comfortable with Bill Clinton-like semantics when the former president said in a 1998 deposition. “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky.” Bill thought sexual relations meant “intercourse” when, it fact, that Ms. Lewisnky had oral sex with the former president. When it comes to Hunter, Lowell thinks he can assert Hunter was not “financially involved” could mean anything getting Hunter or Joe off the hook. If Democrats and the press knew that Joe received his cut from Hunter and James’ foreign business deals, would they still say he wasn’t “financially involved?” Refusing to appear before Comer’s committee in closed door deposition, Lowell knows that Hunter is a loose cannon, largely because he’s got much to hide. Protecting Joe heading into 2024 is Democrats and the media’s top priority.
Comer knows that 2020 cover-up by Democrats and the press about Hunter’s laptop story revealing that Joe was indeed involved in Hunter’s foreign business deals showed the stakes in the 2020 election. Joe won the presidency with the help of the corrupt media, willing to spread any fake story on Trump. Washington Post journalist-turned-Democrat-political-hack Bob Woodward put his reputation on the line saying Trump didn’t take the Covdi-19 crisis seriously. Imagine that, only a week after the Nov. 3, 2020 presidential election, Pfizer announced its first Covid vaccine was ready for release. Joe said in the campaign he wouldn’t trust any vaccine developed under Trump. Once he won the election, he welcomed Pfizer’s vaccine as a monumental step in fighting the virus. Hunter has much to say about how his father was not “financially involved” in Hunter’s deals.
Comer knows he’s in a PR war with Democrats and the press, seeking to discredit his impeachment inquiry. “[He] goes out and says he wants to make a statement and have a press conference. Then when he go through making the statements asking for pity, then he drove off in his car and wouldn’t answers and questions,” Comer said. Comer says he’ll bring contempt of Congress charges against Hunter for defying a Congressional subpoena for deposition. Hunter and Lowell know that former Trump strategist Steve Bannon and trade adviser Peter Navarro were convicted of Contempt of Congress for failing to appear for a House deposition. Hunter finds himself in a legal vise, knowing that any testimony could hurt his father in terms of his “financial involvement” in overseas business deals, Comer gets closer to tying Hunter and Joe together in overseas deals.
Democrats and the press see nothing wrong with Joe earning cash for his family on Hunter and brother James’ foreign business deals. Comer has plenty of testimony that shows Joe knew about Hunter and James foreign business deals. Former Delaware U.S. Atty. Lesley Wolf didn’t say much under oath in Comer’s committee. Wolf steered Comer away from Joe’s involvement with Hunter and James’ foreign transactions. When Wolf’s plea deal fell apart last summer, DOJ whistleblowers Sharpley and Ziegler, both pointed to Wolf’s sweetheart plead deal with Hunter. Hunter avoided putting testimony on record that could implicate the president in secret involvement in Hunter’s inappropriate transactions with Chinese and Ukrainian officials. All Democrats and the press can do is keep the public focused on the fake narrative that Trump would destroy U.S. democracy.
