LOS ANGELES.–House of Representative voted 221-212 along party lines to open up a formal impeachment hearing into 81-year-old President Joe Biden’s impeachment over foreign transactions netting the Biden family millions trading off his named-and-connections. GOP House investigators led by Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) have amassed evidence over the last year indicating that Biden lied during the 2020 presidential campaign when he denied knowing anything about his former crack addict son Hunter and brother James’ foreign business dealings. Hunter has been federal indictment for gun charges in Delaware and more recently tax evasion in California. Showing the White House grows concerned about the impeachment, Hunter made an erratic public statement saying he was “irresponsible” with his money while battling drug addiction but his father, Joe, had nothing to do with his transactions.
Comer and Jordan know that Hunter and his friend Devon Archer worked at Joe’s arrangement for a corrupt Ukrainian energy company Burisma holdings for nearly five years, making them both millions for serving on the board. Joe, at the time, was heading former President Joe Biden’s Ukraine anti-corruption task force, trying to clean up Ukraine. Before Joe got Hunter and Devon Archer jobs at Burisma, Russia invaded Crimea Feb. 22, 2014, after the CIA-aided Maiden Revolution led by Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko, toppling the Kremlin-backed government of Victor Yanukovych. Giving context to Biden’s involvement in Ukraine, it was on Biden and Joe’s watch that Russian President Vladiimir Putin invaded Crimea to protect his Sevastopol Black Sea naval base. Biden’s vendetta with Putin runs deep, prompting Biden once president Jan 20, 2021 to arm Ukraine to the teeth with lethal U.S. weapons against Kremlin objections.
Whatever the relationship Biden has with Ukraine, he told a meeting of Council of Foreign Relations Jan. 23, 2018 that he threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid if former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko didn’t fire lead prosecutor Viktor Shokin who had opened up an investigation into Bursima Holdings, where Hunter and Devon worked. Whatever the relations with Ukraine, Joe landed Hunter and Archer jobs on Burisma, knowing full well about Hunter’s foreign deals in Ukraine. When it comes to Joes other foreign transactions in Russia, China, Kazakhstan, etc., Comer and Jordan are taking depositions and testimony from Hunter’s former business partners. Opening up a formal impeachment inquiry, Comer and Jordan have more impeachment power to dig more deeply into what Democrats and the White House call an Election Year publicity stunt. Republicans think Biden has stonewalled Comer and Jordan’s preliminary investigation.
White House Spokesman Ian Sams say the investigation is a crass, baseless attempt to smear the president during an election year. But Sams and other Democrats can’t reverse Biden’s record eight years as Vice President and three years as president. “There hasn’t been evidence yet of wrongdoing by President Biden himself,” said Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Ut.) who often caucuses with Democrats especially when it comes to former President Donald Trump. Romney says there’s no conclusive proof yet or Biden’s wrongdoing, something now ramping up in the House Oversight and Judiciary committees. White House officials say there’s no evidence of wrongdoing but clearly the inquiry has only just begun to prove that the entire Biden family, including Joe, profited from Hunter and Jim’s foreign business transactions. Finding the shell corporations and bank accounts used to transfer funds into Joe’s personal accounts won’t be easy. But Comer and Jordan are on the trail.
Republicans have been less flattering about Joe’s involvement with Hunter than Democrats and the U.S. press that tends to cover-up any past malfeasance. Back in 2020, the New York Post reported a story about the authenticity and contents of Hunter’s laptop, found at a Wilmington computer repair store. Democrats and the press claimed that the laptop contained Russian disinformation about Hunter’s foreign transactions and some of Joe’s personal involvement. Despite suppressing the laptop story in the New York Times, Washington Post and most social media, the laptop story has been vetted as factual, shedding light on Biden family overseas business deals. “As President Biden continues to stonewall lawful Congressional subpoenas, today’s vote of the full House of Representatives authorizing the inquiry put us in the strongest position to enforce subpoenas in court,” said Reps. Steve Scalise (R-La.), Tom Emmer (R-Ind.) and Elise Stephanik (R-.N.Y.).
Biden reacted defensively to the House vote, accusing Republicans of an Election Year witch hunt. “Instead of doing anything to help make American lives better, they are focused on attacking me with lies,” Biden said. “Instead of doing their job on the urgent work that needs to be done they are choosing to waste time on this baseless political stunt that even Republicans isn Congress admit is not supported by facts,” Biden said, written by his PR team. Biden said the same thing in 2020 when he called the Hunter laptop story Russian disinformation. When Biden talks the GOP doing important work, he refers to the problems getting an additional $61 billion for Ukraine War funding. How does that help the U.S. economy, foreign policy or U.S. national security? It’s no accident that under Biden the U.S. finds itself in a war against the Kremlin in Ukraine. Biden’s history in Ukraine opens up many other questions about what we’re doing there.
