Showing GOP weakness heading into the 2024 presidential election, all five candidates, except 38-year-old biotech entrepreur Vivek Ramaswamy, show no degree of separation with 80-year-old President Joe Biden on the Ukraine War. Only Ramaswamy would end funding the Ukraine government and war. When it comes to 61-year-old former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, 51-year-old former U.N. Amb. Nikki Haley, 44-year-old Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and 58-year-old Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), all backed Biden’s policy to battling the Kremlin. DeSantis avoided the topic, knowing he’d be pounced on by Christie, Haley and Scott. Yet DeSantis in the two previous debates, contrasted himself by clearly opposing the Ukraine War. Christie and Haley back Biden’s Ukraine War funding, with both claiming that the U.S. must do more to confront Russian and Communist China.

If you listen to Christie he’s ready to take on China over Taiwan, showing how he’d recklessly get the U.S. into a shooting war with Beijing. Christse, in response to a question by conservative radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt, said he would increase the fleet of U.S. nuclear submarines as a deterrent to China. So, Christie’s approach to the U.S.’s biggest trading partner is that he’s ready to get into a nuclear war with China. What kind of madness has Christie advocating nuclear confrontation with Communist China? When it comes to the Ukraine War, Christie and Haley are on the exact same page as Biden. Biden has trashed decades of diplomacy, détente and arms control with Russia to back Ukraine’s border war with the Kremlin. Tim Scott was even more adamant about his position on the Ukraine War, saying the U.S. must continue to degrade the Russian military.

Scott gets top security briefings on the Ukraine War, knowing that it’s been stalemated for some time, with Ukraine’s vaunted counteroffensive failing to make progress against Russia. Yet Scott had no problem disclosing Top Secret U.S. Ukraine War strategy admitting that the U.S. must continue degrading the Russian military. Scott should have his security clearance revoked, admitting Top Secret U.S. war strategy. Only Biden and 70-year-old Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin admitted in 2022 that that Putin should no longer be Russian president and the Russian military must be degraded to the point it could not longer wage war. But whatever Biden and Austin admitted publicly, it was reckless for Scott to divulge military secrets, something bound to antagonize the Kremlin. House and Senate Democrats and Republicans agree with Biden’s Ukraine proxy war to battle the Kremlin.

None of the GOP candidate helped their cause to move up the ranks in facing 77-year-old President Donald Trump in the 2024 primaries. Trump holds a commanding lead of 58.5% of the GOP nomination, compared with Chris Christie’s 2.5%. Yet if you listen to Christie, you’d think he’s the front-runner. Christies foreign policy statements sound like he takes orders from the Biden White House, repeating the same worn out talking points on Ukraine from Biden and 61-year-old Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Biden’s Ukraine policy has been an abject failure, doing nothing to stop Putin from occupying Ukraine for the indefinite future. Instead of offering a new policy, Christie, Haley and Scott repeat Biden’s failed foreign policy. Only Ramaswamy and DeSantis hold different views on the Ukraine War. DeSantis held his tongue, knowing that Russian War hsysteia rules the White House and Congress.

Republicans were hard pressed to deal with the abortion issue, where Democrats have pounded Republicans since the Supreme Court overturned June 24, 2022 Roe v. Wade, guaranteeing women the right to abortion since 1973. Democrats have successfully undermined GOP candidates by emphasizing opposition to a women’s reproductive rights. All five remaining GOP candidates back the earth-shaking end to Roe v. Wade, putting Republicans on the wrong side of the issue. Whether admitted to or not, the conservative Supreme Court helped Democrats by painting Republicans as backward on women’s rights. Haley, Christie and Ramaswamy were left on a limb defending today’s sad state of affairs where abortion rights have been relegated to the states, not the federal government. Haley said she was pro-life but respected anyone who was pro-choice.

No one in the GOP debate made any progress advancing their cause of defeating Trump in the upcoming primaries. Thanks to the shortsighted Supreme Court, Republcans are on the defensive about abortion, signing the praises of state rights, a backward approach to women’s rights. When it comes to war-and-peace, GOP candidates sound like their ready to get the U.S. into a shooting war with China over Taiwan. Christie said he would back more U.S. nuclear submarines used as a deterrent to China but expanding the risk of nuclear war. Only Ramaswamy and possibly DeSantis would end Ukraine War funding, two unpopular positions in today’s Russian war hysteria. Only Trump has been clear that he would end the Ukraine War in 24 hours and work on diplomacy with China to avoid a military confrontation over Taiwan. What’s wrong with GOP warmongers?
