Growing anxious about a possible 77-year-old President Donald Trump presidency, 45-year-old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky told NBC’s “Meet the Press” Kristen Welker that he was extending an invitation to Trump to check the war zone. Zelensky has told the press in the past that Trump couldn’t end the Ukraine war largely because he wouldn’t settle the dispute with the Russian Federation unless Russian President Vladimir Putin removed all of his troops from Ukraine and returned the Crimean Peninsula. Since President Joe Biden, 80, started arming Ukraine before the Feb. 24, 2022 invasion, Zelensky provoke Putin for months begging NATO for a fast-track membership, something that never happened. So, when Biden says the Ukraine War was “unprovoked and unjustified,” it’s a deceptive slogan, not reality of the U.S. arming Putin’s Ukrainian neighbor.

Biden clearly, for any honest observer, provoked Putin to invade Ukraine by refusing for months to discus new security arrangements with Ukraine. Putin told Biden and his national security staff that arming Ukraine was unacceptable, not because he wanted to invade but because it’s a matter of Russian national security. Think about what happened when Soviet Premier Nikka Khrushchev started arming Cuba with nuclear weapons? President John F. Kennedy initiated a blockade on Cuba, threatening nuclear war if Khrushchev didn’t back down. Yet when Biden armed Ukraine to the teeth over Putin’s objections, he refused to talk. Putin’s “special military operation” was designed to neutralize Ukraine’s growing U.S. arsenal, not to conquer Ukraine and erase the Ukrainian culture. Without U.S. weapons, Zelensky wouldn’t not have gone to war with the Kremlin.

Zelensky now tells Welker that he’d like to invite President Trump to Kiev to show him that the war can’t stop in 24 hours. Zelensky knows that he couldn’t prosecute a war with Russia without U.S. cash-and-weapons. He knows that Trump is talking about ending the war in 24 hours with high-end diplomacy with Putin. “Former President Trump said that about 24 hours, that he can manage it and finish the war,” Zelensky told Welker. “For me, what can I say? So he’s very welcome as well,” Zelensky said somewhat tongue-in-cheek. Zelensky knows his bankrupt government is wholly dependent on U.S. tax dollars and could not could he fight the Kremlin without U.S. arms. So, when Zelensky questions Trump’s motives, he knows very well that Trump would cut a deal with he and Putin. Would that deal satisfy Zelensky’s unrealistic demands to end the conflict? Of course not.

Zelensky knows that Biden has given Ukraine a blank check to prosecute a proxy war using Ukrainian troops against the Russian Federation. Biden’s decision, for whatever reason, trashed decades of U.S.-Russians, ending hard-fought diplomacy started with President Harry Truman in the ash heap of WW II. Every president since Truman has worked vigorously to develop better relations with the Kremlin until Biden. Biden made the worst foreign policy mistake in U.S. history, pitting the U.S. against the Russian Federation. Ukraine’s war with Russia could have been prevented if Biden engaged in responsible diplomacy with Putin. But Biden decided to end decades of U.S.-Russian diplomacy, détente, arms control and, more importantly, global cooperation to promote a peaceful world. Biden’s Ukraine proxy war ended decades of U.S.-Russian relations.

Why the U.S. press backs the Ukraine War is anyone’s guess. At various times, Zelensky told the press that Russia committed genocide against Ukraine, threatened to destroy the Ukrainian culture. Zelensky blamed Putin for stealing Ukrainian sovereign territory, like the 2014 annexation of Crimea. But Zelensky knows that on Feb. 22, 2014, a CIA-backed, pro-Western coup toppled the Kremlin-backed government in Kiev of Viktor Yanukovych, threatening to evict Russia from its Black Sea fleet in Sevastopol, Crimea. Putin responded to the coup March 1, annexing Crimea to protect his naval base. If Ukraine wanted to avoid conflict with Russia, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko would have negotiated a 99-year-lease with Putin to safeguard his Sevastopol naval base. But no, the Feb. 22, 2014 pro-Western coup didn’t think of the repercussions of toppling the Yahukovych government.

Zelensky has been blowing smoke about his counteroffensive, telling the U.S. and NATO that he defends European democracy. Biden has played along with Zelensky’s madness, destroying U.S.-Russian relations, but, more importantly, driving China into an economic, military and strategic alliance with Russia. Biden’s foreign policy toward China has been almost as bad as Russia. If Bide were given four more years, he would have the U.S. in a two-front WW III, one in Ukraine the other in Taiwan. Zelensky has played into American’s fears of Russia, creating the worst foreign policy mess since WW II. “President Biden was here, and I think he understood some details which you can understand only by being here,” Zelensky said, inviting Trump to Kiev. Zelensky worries about losing U.S. cash-and-arms, it’s that simple. If Trump were president, the war with Russia would end.
