Removed from a bipartisan stopgap funding bill Sept. 30, $6 billion in Ukraine funding, showing that at least among some conservative and progressive Democrats it’s not a top priority for everyone. President Joe Biden, 80, makes it his top foreign policy priority on a false premise that 70-year-old President Volodymyr Putin wants to take over Europe. Biden’s sales pitch comes from 45-year-old Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky who gives more excuses for the Ukraine War than a Old West carnival barker. Zelensky’s team of propagandists led by 37-year-old Kyrlyo Budanov claims that Ukraine defends European democracy from global menace Vladimir Putin. When the war broke out Feb. 24, 2022, U.S. lawmakers were blindsided, with Biden joining Ukraine’s war against the Kremlin. U.S. war with Russia destroyed decades of diplomacy, détente and arms control.

So, when the stopgap funding measure passed last night, sparing the U.S. another costly and wasteful government shutdown, $6 billion in Ukraine funding was missing. Lawmaker backing the Ukraine War promised they would take up Ukraine funding in another separate appropriation bill. But the advisability of continuing to pay for the bankrupt Ukraine government and war with the Kremlin requires new thinking. “We cannot under any circumstances allow American support for Ukraine to be interrupted,” said Biden, signaling, if reelected, he’ll drain the U.S. Treaury on the war indefinitely. Biden can’t save face because his proxy war against the Kremlin using Ukrainian troops as proxies has failed. Biden and Zelensky can’t say with any certainty how long the war would go on, only promising to spend untold billions on eventually defeating the Russian Federation

Biden’s insistence on spending billions on a costly and wasteful proxy war in Ukraine has damaged the U.S. economy and foreign relations. After generations of U.S. presidents worked constructively with Russia since the end of WW II, Biden has done just the opposite. Under the guise of defending democracy, Biden rigidly pushes a false narrative about the Ukraine War. Zelensky told U.S. lawmakers that if he doesn’t get untold billions of U.S. tax dollars and win the war against the Kremlin, WW III would break out in Europe. Zelensky has been pushing for WW III from Day One, asking the U.S. and NATO to commit to a no-fly-zone and troops. When that didn’t happen, Zelenslky settled for unlimited cash and weapons. “I fully expect the Speaker will keep his commitment to the people of Ukraine and secure passage of the support needed to help Ukraine at this critical moment,” Biden said.

Biden doesn’t acknowledge how the Ulkraine War has destroyed decades of U.S.-Russian diplomacy and undermined the world economy and peace. Biden’s proxy war in Ukraine has turned U.S. foreign policy on its head. Because he can’t get along with Putin, Biden decided to fund a destructive proxy war that has cost Ukraine dearly. Russia was in Ukraine before the Feb. 24, 2022 invasion and will be in Ukraine after the war ends. Biden and Zelensky’s plan to oust every Russian soldier in Ukraine is unrealistic and costs the U.S. and NATO untold billions. Biden and Zelensky sell the war as a lfie-and-death struggle against Russian imperialism, calling the invasion an “imperial land grab.” Biden knows that his reckless supply of arms to Ukraine forced Putin to neutralize the threat with his “special military operation” designed to counteract the threat to Russian national security.

Biden called Putin’s invasion “unprovoked and unjustified,” but any honest examination of the events leading up to the invasions shows that Biden armed Ukraine to the teeth against the Kremlin’s objections. Members of the European Union and NATO know what led to the Ukraine War. Most EU states have called for a ceasefire and peace talks to end the conflict, all rejected by Kiev and Washington. If Ukraine War funding was so critical to U.S. national security, the Democrat-controlled Senate and Biden would have rejected the stopgap bill that removed $6 billion in Ukraine funding. “In the coming weeks, we expect the Senate will work to ensure the U.S. government continues to provide critical and sustained security and economic support for Ukraine,” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Biden continues his sell that the Ukraine War defends European democracy.

All U.S. lawmakers know that NATO, not bankrupt and war-torn Ukraine, defends European democracy but the same fake sales pitch is used to justify unending Ukraine War spending. As long as Biden stays president, the recent budget crisis will happen with regularity. Biden proudly maintains the false narrative about the Ukraine War, something that’s bankrupted the Ukrainian economy. Biden and Zelensky don’t have any real timetable for defeating the Russian Federation. European allies all know that Russia isn’t going anywhere, requiring a peace process—not war—to end the conflict. Yet, if you listen to Biden and Zelensky, only more cash-and-weapons can complete the objective of expelling Russia from Ukraine. Putin sees the Ukraine War as a conflict between the U.S. and Russia, not Ukraine. More U.S. tax dollars won’t solve Ukraine’s conflict with Russia.
