Reports from St. Petersburg and Moscow indicate that Russian lawmakers have formally asked the Duma, the Russian parliament, to remove 69-year-old President Vladimir Putin from office, charging him with treason for returning to the Cold War. Reports from municipal deputies in the Smolinsky Dictrict Council, allegedly issue a statements calling on the Russian parliament to remove Putin from power and charge him with treason. What kind of utter nonsense in this report, when any Russian lawmaker knows that it’s treasonous and criminal to denigrate the Russian president. “The Council Smolinskoye Municipal District decided to appeal to the State Duma deuties with a proposal to bring charges of treason against President Putin in order to remove him from office,” said Deputy Dmitry Palyuga, asking the Russian State Duma to take immediate action against the Russian President.
Knowing the way things work in Russia, can anyone believe this fake news coming, no less, from a Latvia-based investigative outlet, proving the whole story is as fake as it comes. No story about Putin coming from the Baltic States, certainly Latvia, is going to say anything factual about what goes on in Russia. Palyyuga states in a tweet about the secret document calling for Putin immediate removal. “The decision was supported by the majority of the deputies present,” Palyuga said, referring to the document calling for Putin to be removed from office. “The decision was supported by the majority of the deputies present,” tweeted Palyyuga. Lawmakers a the Somolinskyoye Municipal District in St. Petersburg were told that they would be prosecuted “due to actions aimed at discrediting the current Russian government,” reported the Washington Post, another fake news publication.
No Russian municipal body would go on record denouncing the Russian President, knowing the consequences for sedition. When it comes to 46-year-old Russian dissident Alexi Navalny, allegedly poisoned by the Kremlin in 2021, he rots in Russian penal colony for various subversive activities. Western countries keep Navalny in the news because he’s the poster-boy for what happens when you cross Putin. Navalny used to laugh at all of Putin’s corruption, claiming his anti-corruption organization was designed to oust Putin from office. So, when it comes to a St. Petersburg municipal body openly expressing sedition it’s the epitome of fake news. Can you imagine, it’s reported by a Lativian news outlet, having no real knowledge of anything that goes on in Russia? Lawmakers allegedly told Putin in a document that his action “intolerance and aggression,” sent Russian back into the Cold War.
Countless examples of fake news attempt to advance political agendas but have nothing to do with any real facts. How credible does it sound that an entire St. Petersburg municipal council wants to be charged with sedition, sent to penal colonies, like Navalny, around Russia? “The rhetoric you and your subordinates have used for a long time imbued with intolerance and aggression, which in the end has effectively sent our counntry back into the Cold War,” Moscow lawmakers said, as reported by a Latvian news outlet. While no one believes the report in Russia, the gullible West has plenty of naïve news shoppers that believe any fake news as long as it preaches to the choir. “In view of the above, we ask that you resign from your post, since your view and your mode of government are hopelessly outdated and hinder the development of Russia and its human potential,” sounding fake as it gets.
Making up fake news must be subtle not blatantly obvious lies that only boomerang on news outlets. Navalny’s organization still has followers in the Baltic States, knowing it’s not safe to operate in Russia. Listening to the so-called municipal body it’s obvious that one of Navalny’s followers wrote the rubbish designed to tell Western news outlets to keep supporting the propaganda battle with the Kremlin. “We understand that Putin won’t shed a tear and stop the operation,” said Kikita Yoferev, allegedly from the St. Petersburg Council. Few countries have more contempt for Russia than Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia, three former Soviet satellites that fret over whether Putin would attempt to invade their countries like Ukraine. Sentiments over Russia in the Baltics borders on paranoia, not trusting Putin, believing that he’d like to take over the Baltics like he did in Ukraine.
Fake news is a real problem for anyone looking to get the facts from the media, knowing that certain stories are pure fabrication. When it comes to the Ukraine War, nothing that’s heard from Kiev, Washington, London or Brussels can be trusted. All four countries have said Kiev has been winning the war, when the Russian Federation has seized the entire Black Sea coast and all of Ukraine’s strategic ports. All the fake news is designed to keep flooding unlimited cash-and-weapons into Ukraine, all designed to degrade the Russian military or topple Putin’s government. No one in any municipal council in Moscow or St. Petersburg called for Putin’s removal from office. Elected officials know very well what happens if they openly oppose Putin or the Kremlin. No elected official is stupid enough to end up like Navalny, the ultimate dissident that challenged Putin’s power.
