Special Counsel John Durham, 72, made more progress today in U.S. District Court presenting to the jury Atty. Michael Sussmann’s billing records from the Hillary campaign. Durham is prosecuting former U.S. Atty. and 58-year-old State Department Atty. Michael Sussmann for perjury over comments he made Sept. 19, 2016 to FBI Chief Counsel James Baker. Sussmann claims he did not lie to Baker when he told him that he came to him out of concern for U.S. national security when he told Baker that the then GOP candidate Donald Trump had a secret server to Russia’s Alfa Bank, presenting a national security risk. Baker asked Sussmann at the Sep.t 19, 2016 meeting whether he was working for any client. Sussmann told Baker, “no.” Turns out Sussmann worked for the campaign of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton when he filed a false report to the FBI.
Durham accused Sussmann of lying to Baker saying he worked for no client other than himself, a concerned citizen worried about Trump’s alleged ties to Russia. But Durham didn’t realize that in filing a false report to the FBI, Sussmann broke another law, prohibiting false reports to law enforcement agencies. It’s one thing to lie about to whom he billed for talking with the FBI, it’s another to file a false report. FBI agents who vetted Sussmann’s charges at the time to Baker dismissed them as speculative, lacking probable cause. Yet to Sussmann, a partner at Hillary’s campaign law firm Perkins Cole, he was doing his civic duty. Sussman told Baker in an email before they met he had something “time sensitive and sensitive” to report about the GOP candidate for President of the United States. When it came to dirty political tricks, Hillary had bested everyone by a long shot
Yet it didn’t really matter to former President Barack Obama’s corrupt FBI, Justice Department, CIA and National Security Agency [NSA]. Durham can’t begin to consider how the sordid mess about investigating Trump really started. But certainly the Democratic National Committee [DNC], Hillary campaign and pollsters knew in summer 2016 that she was in a dogfight with Trump for the presidency. What could be done to stop Trump’s campaign grew in confidence by the day, peaking over the summer of 2016 with Comey’s investigation. What happened in the FBI was a determined effort by 62-tear-old former FBI Director James Comey and 66-year-old CIA Director John Brennan to sabotage Trump’s campaign. Sussmann was just one cog in the wheel of corruption inside the Obama White House to undermine Trump’s 2016 campaign, including the FBI and CIA.
Comey and Brennan were part of a covert cabal of Democrats and Republicans joining forces to prevent Trump from becoming president. Brennan was given Hillary’s Steele dossier which accused Trump of salacious Russian ties, a compendium of lies, fabricated with one purpose, to defeat Trump at the polls. Sussmann was familiar with the Steele dossier because his law firm, Perkins Cole, commissioned opposition research group Glen Sumpson’s FusionGPS to create the fake Steele dossier. But to Sussmann’s, his treachery didn’t matter, he was sworn, like many in the anti-Trump conspiracy to do everything to prevent Trump from becoming president. Inside the FBI, with Comey conducting an illegal counterintelligence investigation, 52-year-old FBI Agent Peter Strzok and 39-year-old FBI Atty. Lisa Page, pledged their loyalty to the cause of defeating Trump.
Emails uncovered under the Freedom of Information Act proved that Strzok and Page pledged their allegiance to defeating Trump while they carried on a clandestine love affair. But the real treachery happened at the top brass of the FBI led by Comey. Comey served during the summer of 2016 as a constant leak of information about Trump’s fake ties to the Kremlin. But wherever he leaked, not one reported at the New York Times or Washington Post every asked for evidence. No, the U.S. press joined the conspiracy to prevent Trump from beating Hillary. Comey plowed on with warrants to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act {FISA] Court to wiretap Trump campaign officials over entirely spurious probable cause. All that counted to Comey was he was besmirching Trump’s reputation while he ran for president. Comey actually thought no one would ever question him or the FBI.
Presenting his best evidence at trial in district court, Durham tries to catch a small but important fish along a convoluted trail up the food chain to the top levels of the Obama administration. Sussmann’s conviction for perjury over telling FBI Chief Counsel Baker he represented only himself when he told Baker that Trump had a secret server to Russia’s Alfa Bank. Sussannn, a partner at Perkins Cole, that represented the Hillary campaign, billed Hillary for 3.5 hours at $800 an hour to file a false report about Trump to Baker. FBI analysts dismissed Sussmann’s statements as speculative, but they didn’t touch the fake Hillary dossier that Brennan and Comey used to accuse Trump of illicit ties to the Kremlin. Durham hopes for only one minute conviction to expose a monstrous conspiracy with the Obama administration, using the FBI, CIA and NSA to prevent Trump from becoming president. Durham hopes to catch his small fish first before moving on.
