Ukraine’s 59-year-old Chief of Military Intelligence Maj. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov says the Kremlin actively seeks to remove 69-year-old Russian President Vladimir Putin from power. Telling the West everything they want to hear, Budanvov has the captive audience with the press wanting to believe everything he says even if it’s pure rubbish. Budanov said he was “optimistic” the Russia’s defeat was imminent, sometime by the end of the year. Once defeated, Budanov insists that the Kremlin will remove Putin from power. “It will eventually lead to the change of leadership of the Russian Federation,” Budanov said. “The process has already been launched,” suggesting that the Kremlin coup to remove Putin from office was already underway. Asked by British tabloid, “Sky News,” if a “coup” was underway, Budanov told Sky New, “Yes . . . They are moving is this way, and it is impossible to stop it.”
Budanov has the same credibility as Baghdad Bob, Saddam Hussein’s once chief information officer, telling the press after the March 20, 2003 attack that the U.S. military was being routed. We all know what happened to Saddam, so much for propagandists like Baghdad Bob and now Kyrylo Budanov. Sky News confronted Budanov, saying he was spreading propaganda. “It’s my job, it’s my work—if not me, who will know this?” Budanov told Sky News, admitting that he was spreading rubbish for Western consumption. With Western officials and press soaking up Budanov’s nonsense, it’s difficult to get factual information from Ukraine’s military. If you listen to Ukraine’s officials, Russia has lost the war, routed at every turn by a superior fighting force. But if you look at all the video from Ukraine, it’s a country in ruins, with much of the Black Sea coast in Russian hands.
NATO’s former Assistant Secretary-General Gordon B. Davis Jr. told Sky News that he doesn’t “think we’re likely to see a coup in the near future.” Yet Ukraine’s 44-year-old President and 79-year-old President Joe Biden tout all of Ukraine’s battlefield accomplishments. “It’s tough to talk about the credibility of such a likelihood,” Davis told Sky News. “I don’t put a lot of credence right now into the rumors,” especially about Putin’s medical or mental state.“ If you listen to Budanov, Putin’s ready for the morgue or bobby hatch, but no one can tell which. “The breaking point will be in the second part of August,” Budanov said. “Most of the combat actions will have finished by the end of this year. As a result, we will renew Ukrainian power in all our territories that were lost, including Donbas and Crimea. Budanov knows that Ukraine has lost most of its Black Sea coast to Russia.
Western officials think that publishing fake news helps the war effort by breaking the spirit of the enemy to keep on fighting. Russian soldiers don’t have access to Western propaganda, filing daily reports of Ukraine’s heroic victories on a variety of war fronts. If you listen to White House or Kiev press reports, you’d think the war is already over, with Ukraine evicting the Russian occupiers. But if you look at the map of Russian controlled territory, it expands by the day, with Ukraine losing more ground. Budanov said it was his job to spread disinformation and propaganda to anyone in the Western press willing to report it. There are plenty of takers looking for a silver lining to the nearly two month old war that has watched Ukraine in ruins. Yet Washington and Kiev tout the heroic resistance of Ukraine’s fighters, battling the Russian Goliath, proving Ukraine can take a punch.
Ukraine has received unlimited about of advance U.S. and NATO weapons, both defensive and offensive in nature. Daily reports of Russian troop and equipment losses haven’t stopped Moscow from seizing more Black Sea coastline from Ukraine. Budanov claimed to Sky News that Putn sufferes with “a very bad psychological and physical condition, and he is very sick.” Budanov supplies no evidence, only wild conjecture by unnamed oligarchs that have witnessed Putin’s condition, everything Washington and Kiev want to hear, but simply pure rubbish. Showing how fake press reports circulate with alarming speed, New Lines Magazine said Putin was “very ill with blood cancer,” then proceeded to say he had spinal surgery to correct the condition. Spinal surgery has nothing to do with blood cancers, showing the supreme ignorance of reporters or pure propaganda from spin doctors.
No matter what’s reported in the fake news about Putin, the public would be well-advised to look at such reports with a jaundiced eye. If the public wants to read between the lines and figure out what’s really going on, you don’t listen to Ukraine’s chief military intelligence officer. Everything coming from Ukraine and Washington shows Ukraine winning the war, claiming it’s only a matter of time before Russia is driven out of Ukraine. But if you look a actual video of Ukraine’s biggest towns and cities, you see a country in ruins. One look at Ukraine’s map shows that Russian forces control much of the Black Sea coast, essentially land-locking Ukraine. If the U.S. and Ukraine want to cut their losses, they’d grab at the opportunity to go to Istanbul and work on a ceasefire and peace deal. All of Budnaov’s forecasts of victory sound a lot like Baghdad Bob before Saddam’s April 10, 2003 fall.
